The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 279: Chapter 279: A Head-On Collision_1

She didn’t want to transfer schools at all!

In McKinney, there was no school better than No. 1 Middle School, yet her protests at home all last night were futile, and early this morning her dad, Jeff, personally took her to transfer schools.

And it wasn’t to a private school like Excellence High School, but to the fifth middle school, which was a notch below No. 1 Middle School in every aspect.

Ghania Quinlan felt indescribably miserable, with a sense of suffocation in her chest—if she wasn’t in the principal’s office, she probably would have lost control of her emotions long ago...

”Thank you for nothing,” Mr. Jones laughed briefly, then turned to the man in a suit and said, ”Well, Mr. Quinlan, you can go now and handle the transfer procedures.”

The principal’s office was not responsible for handling transfer procedures; they needed to go to the guidance office for that.

Jeff Quinlan was aware of the process, nodded, and was just about to take Ghania with him.

Who knew that at that moment, there would be a knocking on the door from outside the office.

”Reporting.”

The voice sounded quite boisterous.

His brows furrowed, and he instinctively felt the voice was familiar.

He hadn’t figured it out yet,

when he saw Mr. Jones bypassing them and heading straight for the door, ”Come on in!”

They saw a girl enter the office from outside, wearing a hoodie, revealing a pair of shapely legs, a snow-white oval face that was pretty and delicate, with slightly upturned corners of her eyes, making her look inexplicably defiant—who else could it be but Nathalie Quinlan!

Ghania almost clenched her fists at the same time, her delicate face pale from a night without rest, and her apricot eyes brimming with resentment!

If it wasn’t for Nathalie, she wouldn’t have had to transfer schools at all!

Nor would she have lost the guaranteed admission to National Artists University!

She was in this mess today all thanks to Nathalie!

Here she was in such a wretched state, while Nathalie appeared nonchalant, how ridiculous was that?

”Nathalie, you’re here?” Unfortunately, no one in the principal’s office cared for her inner thoughts; Mr. Jones shifted from the businesslike attitude he had shown them, quickly approached her with a warm and cordial smile.

”Good morning, Mr. Jones,” Nathalie had just arrived at the school, and right after setting down her backpack, someone called her to the principal’s office, still wearing a trace of sleepiness and irritation in her eyes and voice which was rather hoarse.

But Mr. Jones didn’t mind her attitude, cheerfully welcomed her in, and said to her, ”It’s like this, Nathalie, we called you here today mainly because there’s something we’d like to discuss with you.”

As Nathalie walked in, she realized the office was quite busy; besides Mr. Jones, both Jeff and Ghania Quinlan were present, and in addition, there were two men and a woman seated on the sofas used for guests, each with a cup of tea in front of them, sipping tea.

Seeing her, the three put down their teacups and turned to look at her, their gazes filled with scrutiny and assessment.

Especially the woman in the middle wearing a silver-gray lady’s suit seemed to be trying to see through her, which was uncomfortable.

Nathalie narrowed her eyes slightly.

Then Mr. Jones led her over with a smile, ”Come, Nathalie, let me introduce you. These individuals are recruiting teachers from the Medical Department at Tsinghua University. Mr. Garland, Mr. Denio, and this is...”

When he introduced the woman teacher in the middle, his demeanor became respectful, and his tone turned solemn, ”And this is Professor Adelle Wafford from the Medical Department at Tsinghua University.”

The Medical Department at Tsinghua University had a great reputation nationwide, and aside from being a professor there, Adelle Wafford was also a leading expert in neurosurgery in the country. Her team had just published the latest research findings on brain surgery in an internationally renowned medical journal, causing quite a stir internationally.
