The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 282: Chapter 282: Then There’s No Need for Tsinghua University to Admit Her_1

Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t blind; she could clearly sense the attitude Adelle Wafford had towards her. She had never been one to settle, and naturally, she did not view Wafford’s so-called titles with any regard, bluntly stating her own viewpoint, ”Who told you that my method of treating and saving patients is Western medicine?”

Adelle Wafford wanted to laugh, but couldn’t manage to, her face darkened as she stared at Nathalie and said, ”You’ve performed surgeries. If you’re telling me that the method you use to save people isn’t Western medicine, could it possibly be Chinese Medicine?”

What does Chinese Medicine know? At most, it formulates some Traditional Chinese Patent Medicines; it neither kills nor cures, it’s all just superficial fluff!

Nathalie Quinlan, with one hand in her pocket, had a wild expression as she admitted in a low, magnetic voice in front of everyone in the office, ”What I use is indeed Chinese Medicine.”

”Hmph, Nathalie Quinlan, there should be a limit to jokes!” Adelle Wafford confronted her, ”You say you’re using Chinese Medicine, but I’ve never heard of Chinese Medicine involving surgery, have you?”

Nathalie Quinlan retorted, ”Does the fact that you haven’t heard of something mean it doesn’t exist?”

”Three thousand years ago, there were accounts of Hua Tuo attempting to perform trepanation on Cao Cao, and the classical biographies are filled with records of surgeries. Is it so strange to use Chinese Medicine techniques to perform a surgery on a hand? Historically, Western medicine is hundreds, even thousands of years behind Chinese Medicine. The profound aspects of Chinese Medicine are bound to be more numerous than those of Western medicine, not fewer!”

There is a type of person in this world, complacent in their little world, who thinks they’ve reached the pinnacle of their field and harbor a skeptical and oppressive attitude towards other people and technologies!

Clearly, Adelle Wafford was one such person.

——Just because you haven’t heard of something, does that mean it doesn’t exist?

When that was said, the entire principal’s office seemed so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Both recruitment teachers from Tsinghua University who had followed Adelle Wafford were so shocked they were speechless.

Nathalie Quinlan, she was so bold. Considering that she wanted to study medicine, how could she dare to offend Professor Wafford, a person of substantial standing in the medical community?!

Mr. Jones, the principal, was also extremely anxious, not understanding how a simple recruitment had turned into a debate between Chinese and Western medicine.

He wanted to smooth things over.

”Well, Nathalie, if you could just...”

He then turned to Adelle Wafford, ”Professor Wafford, my apologies. She is young and might have been speaking out of youthful brashness. I think she probably isn’t aware of the Medical Department at Tsinghua University, or your accomplishments in the field of Western medicine, which is why she said those things. Let’s leave it at this for today, and I will have a talk with her separately when we get back.”

It had been Adelle Wafford who took interest in Nathalie Quinlan, willing to provide her with a guaranteed admission place.

Guaranteed admission to Tsinghua University was not an easy matter, especially for a top-tier major.

Privately, he did not want Nathalie to miss this opportunity. Although from the school’s perspective, Nathalie’s performance in the preliminary examinations was promising, and if she took the college entrance exam, she would likely become the top scorer of the McKinney City this year at No. 1 Middle School.

But as a principal, he likewise wished for his student to enter a prestigious university without taking any detours.

This was his carefully considered result after half a month of conversations with Professor Wafford.

He had no idea what kind of background Nathalie Quinlan had, but so far, influential families from Beijing, such as the Yancey Family and the Wilmar Family, had shown their faces on her behalf, indicating she was not ordinary.

Yet in getting to know her, he did not find she had any connections with people from Beijing.

Adelle Wafford, rarely challenged in public, listened with an icy expression, not giving an inch of face, and stated bluntly, ”I am here to recruit for clinical medicine, not for the Chinese Medicine department. If she isn’t studying Western medicine, Tsinghua University has no need to recruit her.”

Mr. Jones hurriedly said, ”Professor Wafford, please don’t speak like that. You are a leading expert in the country, with countless people wishing to study under you yet not getting the chance. Nathalie, she just doesn’t understand...”

Before he could finish, he heard the girl’s indifferent and casual voice, ”I don’t mind, since I can choose the major I like when I take the college entrance exam anyway.”

Adelle Wafford: ...
