The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Could it be a Secret Crush on Nathalie_1

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t seen the girl selling drinks and mistook her for an auntie, pursing her lips and patting his head, ”Good boy.”

Edric Yancey’s ears instantly turned red, and he buried his head, not daring to look into her eyes, his little hand still clutching his clothes, that pure and innocent little look made Audrick Zachmann unable to resist saying, ”Nathalie, why do I feel like Edric has a crush on you.”

This flustered and heart-fluttering appearance didn’t seem like he was talking to a sister, it looked more like he was with his beloved.

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. Glancing at Nathalie Quinlan’s calamitous face, then at Edric Yancey’s shy demeanor, he felt a bit unwell, grabbing the seat in front of him, seeking affirmation, ”Amadeus, look at Edric’s behavior, he couldn’t possibly have a crush on Nathalie, could he?”

Amadeus Yancey arched an eyebrow and looked in the rearview mirror at the toll and young one behind him, chatting sentence for sentence, and said cheerfully, ”It’s not a crush.”

”Oh, then I must have overthought it.” Audrick Zachmann still trusted his judgment, a considerable weight lifted from his heart.

God, it’s bad enough with the adults, but if even a five-year-old child sneaks after his family’s ’cabbage,’ how could he tolerate it?!

The next sentence from Amadeus Yancey completely chilled the heart he had just reassured.

”He’s openly in love!”

Audrick Zachmann: ...

Alfred Garland, enjoying the commotion without fearing the chaos, drove while joining in, ”Yeah, Mr. Zachmann, the young master had told Amadeus previously that when he grows up, he wants to marry Ms. Quinlan. The young master’s feelings should be considered an open affection, not a crush, right?”

Who has a crush when they confess every day, with ’I like you’ always on the tip of their tongue?

Speaking of crushes... His gaze covertly shifted toward the man next to him, just a quick, tiny glance before hastily retrieving his line of sight.

If someone had to be accused of harboring a secret affection for Ms. Quinlan, Amadeus’ behavior looked more like that of an unrequited crush!

Audrick Zachmann’s face tightened, his smile forced and without joy, as he scoffed indignantly, ”Thinking about marriage? He’s twenty years too early!”

Amadeus Yancey looked relaxed, his eyes lifting slightly, lips curling into a thin smile, arms crossed over his chest, his voice deep and beguiling as he said, ”That’s what I told him too.”

...

Audrick Zachmann initially didn’t catch the subtext and thought the response was normal, but after mulling it over, he suddenly realized something was off.

He’s Nathalie’s biological brother, and when someone covets his family’s ’cabbage,’ it’s reasonable for him to scoff at their wishful thinking.

But what’s Amadeus’ relationship with Nathalie, and why did it sound like, from Amadeus’ mouth, he was hinting to a rival that they were twenty years too early, while implying he himself had reached the legal age for ’picking the cabbage’!

It must be his overthinking; Amadeus wouldn’t be so immature as to take verbal advantage just for the sake of two sentences.

As he thought this, he heard Amadeus Yancey’s low voice, ”What would you like for lunch?”

Clearly, the question wasn’t for him.

Nathalie Quinlan took a sip of the lemon water Edric Yancey had bought for her, the icy coolness mingled with the refreshing taste of lemon and aloe, sour and sweet, quite nice.

She leaned back casually in her seat, rather casually, ”Hot pot?”

She too had suddenly thought of having hot pot.

”Then let’s have hot pot,” said Amadeus Yancey, with no objections, although those who knew his tastes were aware that Amadeus didn’t like spicy food and was even less interested in popular street foods like hot pot.

Nathalie Quinlan lifted her eyelids, remembering the favor she owed him, and took the initiative, ”I’ll treat at noon, I know a hot pot place that’s quite good, right in the city center.”

Amadeus Yancey leaned back in his seat, looking suave and graceful, ”You give Alfred Garland the address, and let him navigate us there.”

Nathalie Quinlan took out her phone, found the shop’s name and address, and sent the location to Alfred Garland.
