The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 271: Chapter 271: Wanting to Become Mr. Norton’s Disciple_1

Caryn Zachmann thought of this and suddenly remembered something. She said to Celine Tucker, ”Oh, Mom, I heard that Mr. Norton has returned to the country. Do you know his whereabouts?”

Mr. Norton is a leading konghou (ancient Chinese harp) master in the country with extraordinary musical accomplishments. If she could become a student of Mr. Norton and learn konghou from him, she would someday surpass that Lighten Chaser in popularity!

Celine Tucker obviously had heard of Mr. Norton’s reputation and smiled, saying, ”I’ll ask your grandfather about it another day. Your grandfather has a good relationship with Mr. Norton. If he really has returned to Beijing, your grandfather should know. Then I’ll take you to visit...”

Not just anyone could visit Mr. Norton, nor see him whenever they wished.

Although the Zachmann Family’s heritage was decent, it still lacked a bit of confidence in Beijing, where dragons and tigers lurked. But Mr. Zachmann had wide connections, with many top figures in the upper circle having some relation to him, including Mr. Norton...

So many well-known ladies in Beijing wanted to visit Mr. Norton but couldn’t find a way, yet she could take the lead.

Caryn Zachmann’s eyes lit up, and she couldn’t stop the corners of her mouth from rising as she clung to her arm and cooed, ”Thank you, Mom.”

Although Celine Tucker had two sons, she only had one daughter, whom she naturally treated as a treasure. She was not even half as attentive to her sons as she was to her. Seeing her daughter happy, her mood also lifted, and she rarely smiled, saying, ”Caryn, if you can become a student under Mr. Norton, you must study hard, alright? It doesn’t matter if you are good at playing konghou or not, the important thing is that you understand Mr. Norton’s unusual status in the music and upper circles. If you can become his student, your status will naturally be different.”

Of course, Caryn Zachmann knew this. Her aim was not merely to surpass Lighten Chaser; she always set her sights on the very top of the pyramid, and in this regard, she was extremely confident, ”Mom, don’t worry. There is no one in Beijing with more musical talent than me. Mr. Norton, I must succeed this time!”

Celine Tucker loved to see her brimming with confidence. The corners of her mouth curled upwards as she touched her daughter’s hand and spoke slowly and deliberately, ”After the college entrance examination is over, your cousin will surely be brought back. Keep your distance from her then. No matter how much your grandfather and father favor her, remember that you are the true prized porcelain nurtured by the Zachmann Family, and she is just a broken stone picked up by the family.

Putting exquisite porcelain together with a stone has already lowered the porcelain’s class. If you further demean yourself by comparing with her, then you’re lowering yourself! Do you understand?”

A flicker of disgust crossed Caryn Zachmann’s face, her beautiful visage showing a mix of contempt and arrogance. She hummed in acknowledgment, saying, ”Mom, rest assured, I’ve never taken her seriously!”

After all, a cousin from a place like McKinney was nothing to her. If she hadn’t been linked to Amadeus, Caryn wouldn’t even deign to look her in the eye.

The Yancey Family, with their social standing, would be extremely cautious in choosing a future daughter-in-law. She believed that as long as she was outstanding enough, the Yancey Family wouldn’t fail to notice her.

...

Villa.

Nathalie Quinlan had already come downstairs, changing into a different set of clothes. She wasn’t wearing the blue shirt and jeans from earlier, but rather had put on the hoodie she usually loved to wear.

The black hoodie was oversized, just reaching her thighs, and she wore a pair of denim shorts underneath, revealing a pair of slender and well-shaped legs.

”Ms. Quinlan, you’re awake!” Alfred Garland casually glanced upstairs and saw the person coming down the stairs. Tsk, not to mention anything else, just Ms. Quinlan’s legs would probably get her quite a few boy chasers at school.

Poor Amadeus, the pressure’s on!
