The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: Giving Them a Lesson_1

Phaeton quickly arrived at a Haidilao Hot Pot restaurant in the city center. There are no private rooms at Haidilao, so everyone sat outside.

Nathalie specifically asked the waiter for a table towards the inside, but even with that, Amadeus Yancey, bearing his ostentatious face, still attracted quite a few glances their way.

Having long been accustomed to being looked at, Nathalie wasn’t surprised. She took the menu from the waiter and asked them, ”Do you want to eat the split pot or the hot pot?”

According to her personal preference, she would definitely choose the hot pot, but she knew that Amadeus and the rest couldn’t handle much spice.

She was about to check the split pot option when she heard the man’s deep voice, ”Up to you. I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

Nathalie raised an eyebrow at him, a playful look in her eyes. She almost blurted out ’I’m thinking of having the Spicy Beef Hot Pot, will you still follow my lead?’ But the words almost spilled from her mouth, she silently swallowed them and her slender fingers checked the tomato soup + mild spicy oil hot pot option.

After choosing the soup base, she casually selected about ten dishes and then handed the iPad over to them. Leaning back, she exuded a bit of a carefree attitude and said, ”I’ve made my choices, check the menu and see if there’s anything else you’d like to add.”

Audrick didn’t stand on ceremony, took the iPad and circled three or four more dishes. At the end, he passed the iPad to Alfred Garland, then looked at Nathalie with an expression that spoke volumes, ”Nathalie, you still like chicken kidneys?”

He was surprised when he saw the chicken kidneys on the menu—his sister’s taste was a bit too strong!

Nathalie, who was playing with her phone and replying to someone’s message, lifted her eyelids. Her eyes dark and shiny with a touch of roguishness, she replied, ”Oh, that’s for the three of you. From a Chinese Medicine perspective, chicken kidneys can nourish yin and strengthen yang, aid digestion and invigorate the spleen, and they can also reduce swelling and remove irritability. They’re also good for alleviating symptoms of kidney deficiency such as irritability with heat sensations in the palms and soles, cold limbs, night sweats, and spontaneous sweating. However, the cholesterol content is high, so it’s best not to eat too much. That’s why I only ordered one serving for you.”

Audrick was about to question why she would order chicken kidneys for them when he heard her calmly mention ’nourishing yin and strengthening yang,’ and suddenly, he felt quite uncomfortable.

He spent his days in the entertainment circle, which was a mix of all sorts, and his family was worried about him picking up bad habits, but here was his sister, not forgetting to order him chicken kidneys to ’nourish yin and strengthen yang’ even at a Hot Pot meal!

His mouth twitched and his gaze fell on the man sitting beside him, chuckling, ”Amadeus, make sure to eat plenty later.”

Amadeus paid him no mind. Ever since sitting down, his line of sight was on the girl who was busy with her phone. Seeing her looking down at her phone with her snow-white nape exposed, he suddenly asked, ”Do you like Chinese Medicine?”

The angle of this topic was quite tricky.

Alfred randomly picked a few dishes, handed the iPad back to the waiter, and looked curiously towards Nathalie.

Ms. Quinlan likes Chinese Medicine?

Nathalie was replying to a message from Jhovany Sullivan, who had sent her a photo of eating spicy minced meat at Aunt Cagwin’s place with sweet potato flour coated in red oil, which looked quite appetizing. It was nothing like the Haidilao she was about to eat, which looked fancy but tasted mediocre and too bland.

Upon hearing Amadeus’s words, she lifted her gaze toward him.

She then heard the handsome man say with a smile in his voice, ”I just thought you seem very interested in Chinese Medicine.”

Amadeus leaned back, relaxed, and watched her intently with his deep-set eyes. ”The first time you saved Edric, you also used acupuncture, all of which is related to Chinese Medicine...”
