The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Still Want to Call the Police_1

She casually said, ”Call the police!”

It sealed Nathalie Quinlan’s fate.

Call the police? Emilia Sullivan hadn’t thought that far ahead and was momentarily stunned by the suggestion, but she soon came to her senses, her well-maintained face darkening with malice as she quickly agreed, ”Yes, call the police!”

Why hadn’t she thought of calling the police herself?

If a high school student about to graduate got a record for fighting, no matter how good their grades were, they could forget about getting into a prestigious university!

If Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t attend a prestigious university, what would it matter if her father was a Tsinghua University professor or she knew people like Silvania Ingram?

She would have no choice but to go to a no-name college.

After graduating from university in the future, she and Ghania would still be people from two different worlds!

”I’ll call the police right away,” Emilia Sullivan said, eager to affix that mark on Nathalie Quinlan’s record immediately.

But Ghania Quinlan panicked, quickly grabbing her hand, her voice altered by her frantic fear, ”You can’t call the police!”

”?”

Emilia Sullivan didn’t understand what she was thinking.

”Why can’t we call the police? She hit you for no reason—are you planning to just take her beating without fighting back?”

Ghania Quinlan had a thousand things to say, but she didn’t know how to express them, merely repeating, ”Mom, we can’t call the police.”

Her delicate face was filled with anxiety, remembering Nathalie Quinlan’s threat in the restroom, feeling as if she had swallowed a mouthful of boiling water, a scalding bubble she couldn’t swallow.

”Mom, please, don’t call the police.”

”I’m not injured, it’s just a scratch on my cheek. The police are very busy, they don’t have time to deal with such trivialities.”

She racked her brains trying to persuade Emilia Sullivan, her brows laden with heavy anxiety, her eyes brimming with earnest entreaty, ”And today is my birthday, I haven’t even cut the cake yet. I really don’t want to make a fuss over such a small matter, making everyone unhappy.”

”Besides, there are so many guests here...”

Her last words struck a chord with Emilia Sullivan, who showed a hesitant expression on her face.

Only they knew how much effort they had expended to invite so many people over this period, hoping that today they could really shine, letting the people of McKinney see how outstanding the daughter they had raised was.

On the one hand, it was to prove their wide connections, the many pathways they had, and that the Quinlan Family’s real estate business wasn’t so easily brought down.

But neither of those objectives had been accomplished today, all ruined by Nathalie Quinlan!

Thinking this, Emilia Sullivan’s heart hardened again, her eyebrows knitted as she looked at her daughter who was desperately pleading, sighing, ”You, you’ve always been too kind since you were young, non-confrontational, always the one to lose out. I thought that once everyone knew you were the Quinlan Family’s child, you wouldn’t be bullied by her anymore, but it’s still the same. Tell me, how can I swallow this anger!”

Ghania Quinlan let out a sigh of relief, unembarrassed and calm in the face of Emilia Sullivan’s words, accepting them as she sweetly held her hand, ”Mom... I just think it’s a minor issue, I don’t want you, dad, and grandma to be upset over such a trivial thing...”

Adelia Tucker was still saying, ”This incident, trivialized, is just a case of bullying outside of school, but at its most serious, it’s intentional injury. Mrs. Quinlan, if you don’t report this, are you not too easy to bully? Some people, when they see you’re easy to bully, won’t think you’re kind, but will just ramp up their bad behavior! Facing such people, I suggest you should teach them a lesson when it’s needed...”

”After all, kindness invites trouble, a horse that’s too gentle will end up ridden by everyone!”

She drew out her tone, seemingly casually stating her opinion, but in reality, she was pushing Emilia Sullivan onto a pedestal, forcing the Quinlan Family to call the police.
