The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 281: Chapter 281: Nathalie Wants to Learn Chinese Medicine_1

He couldn’t help but reminisce—if he hadn’t been persuaded by his family to publicly reveal that the Quinlan family had an imposter daughter, what would have happened if he had insisted on keeping it a secret?

Had the matter of the real and fake heiress not been made public, his company should have been progressing smoothly now, with one daughter recommended to the National Artists University, and the other ’daughter’ to Tsinghua University... Everyone should have been envious of him...

Unfortunately, there’s no medicine for regret in this world!

Jeff Quinlan found himself rooted to the spot at that moment, unable to move a step for a long time.

It was precisely then that Mr. Jones noticed them and said in a low voice, ”Mr. Quinlan, you can go and take care of the transfer procedures now.”

”Oh right, we’ll head there immediately.” Jeff Quinlan actually wanted to stay and see if Nathalie would agree to go to Tsinghua University, although he felt there was no reason for Nathalie to refuse!

But since the headmaster had urged them on, it would be inappropriate for him to shamelessly remain there.

Jeff Quinlan cast a profound glance at the girl inside the office, having a myriad of thoughts he wished to express, but given the circumstances, he had to hold them all back, took a deep breath, and said to Ghania Quinlan, ”Ghania, let’s go.”

”Okay.” Ghania likewise wanted to see if Nathalie would eventually choose Tsinghua University, but since Jeff Quinlan had called her, she could only hesitantly follow Jeff’s steps.

...

The headmaster’s office instantly lost two people, and the air seemed to freshen up.

Nathalie heard Draven Garland still asking her whether she wanted to go to Tsinghua University, she slipped her hands into her pockets, slightly lifted the corners of her eyes, and said, ”Western medicine? What I want to learn is Chinese Medicine.”

As soon as she spoke, the office quieted down considerably.

Draven Garland subconsciously glanced over at Adelle Wafford.

Everyone in Tsinghua University knew that Professor Wafford disliked Chinese Medicine the most, having openly declared it nothing but superstitious hogwash, involving constant toying with so-called medicinal herbs which were merely roots, bark, insects, and such, that not only fail to cure illnesses and save lives but often delay patients’ optimal treatment times.

Therefore, within the Medical Department of Tsinghua University, there had always been two opposing powers.

One faction steadfastly supported the usefulness of Chinese Medicine, while the other, like Adelle Wafford, believed it had more of a placebo effect and was of no use whether one studied it or not.

Those who had come were all from the clinical disciplines, which plainly put, belonged to the western medicine-dominated field of surgery.

They had seen Nathalie perform neurosurgical craniotomy techniques, which were very rare, but since they were surgical, they certainly didn’t fall under the realm of Chinese Medicine. Draven Garland never expected her to express an interest in studying Chinese Medicine.

Indeed.

Adelle Wafford’s face color suddenly took a dive, her gaze sharpening, ”You said you want to learn Chinese Medicine?”

”Yes.” Nathalie was quite direct, not beating around the bush, and succinctly expressed her thoughts, ”If I am to study medicine, I’ll only study Chinese Medicine.”

”Hah!” Adelle Wafford couldn’t help feeling exasperated between her brows, staring at her and saying, ”What can you learn from studying Chinese Medicine? I’ve seen your videos; isn’t the way you save people western medicine?”

If she saved people using the methods of western medicine, what was the point of saying she wanted to study Chinese Medicine?!

Her perception of Nathalie abruptly soured, to say from the first time she laid eyes on Nathalie, she had never been pleased!

A girl too beautiful wasn’t suitable for studying medicine, which was something that required deep concentration and deliberation.

Girls with too much beauty faced too many temptations in life; very few can truly quieten their minds.

Now Nathalie was saying she wanted to study Chinese Medicine, with an attitude that seemed to favor it over western medicine, and Adelle Wafford’s impression of Nathalie hit rock bottom.
