The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Owe Nothing to the Quinlan Family or You_1

Mr. Norton, other people, I don’t know them, nor am I familiar with them; however, Silvania Ingram and Pinecone Group are vital to our family company’s survival.

That’s what I’m most keen on figuring out.

”Do you know that Dad’s business has been having problems lately? He’s been wanting to talk to Mrs. Ingram. Since you know Mrs. Ingram, after lunch, can you ask Mrs. Ingram to wait and meet with Dad privately...”

Nathalie Quinlan found the girl’s almost stern manner of arranging things somewhat amusing, and she indeed chuckled. She gave the hurried and rapid-speaking girl in front of her a playful glance and lifted her chin slightly, genuinely curious, ”Ghania Quinlan, what makes you think I’ll listen to you?”

Is it confidence?

Who gave her that confidence?

Ghania Quinlan was already harboring a bellyful of anger, and upon hearing this, her apricot eyes slightly darkened, her brows furrowed, and she said discontentedly, ”What do you mean ’listen to me’? When our family is in trouble, and you have the ability, shouldn’t you help? You have a good relationship with Mrs. Ingram; she was even willing to come to your birthday party. Asking her to have a meal with Dad is not a difficult thing for you...”

True, it wouldn’t be difficult for me to ask Mrs. Ingram given our relationship.

The question is, I haven’t figured out why I should open this door for the Quinlan family!

Seeing that Nathalie didn’t agree right away, Ghania softly reminded her, ”Sister, don’t forget that you also grew up in the Quinlan family. Even though our parents are not your biological parents, they’ve treated you well over the years...”

”When you were leaving, Dad was still worried about you and wanted to give you money, but you refused. No matter if you found your real parents or not, you still owe them for raising you...”

She wouldn’t have minded if Ghania hadn’t brought this up, but upon mentioning it, Nathalie couldn’t help retorting, ”Owe them for raising me? Didn’t they raise me just to draw blood for you every month?”

Was there ever a day when Jeff Quinlan and Emilia Sullivan truly wanted to take care of her? If it weren’t for Ghania, seeing that she still had value, they probably would have turned their backs on her long ago.

Her confrontation with the ugly truths lurking beneath Ghania’s righteous facade made Ghania’s face turn crimson, and she clenched her fists in anger, ”But they still raised you! You still owe them! Now that you have the means, what’s wrong with repaying them a little? Could their eighteen years of kindness and care not outweigh the help you could give?”

She had thought by saying all this, Nathalie—if she cared at all about saving face, if she had any feelings left for their family—would not have refused.

But who knew.

”Hmm, no, it does not outweigh it.”

Ghania Quinlan: ...

Nathalie Quinlan had only come out for a breath of fresh air, not wanting to argue here or engage in banter. She glanced at her sister, tucked one hand in her pocket, and said succinctly, ”The debt I owed Jeff Quinlan and the Quinlan family for their food, I have already paid back. I have never owed the Quinlan family or you anything. As for you...”

Ghania’s eyelids twitched, wanting to refute Nathalie’s claim of owing nothing, but when she met Nathalie’s gaze, it was as if her throat was blocked and she couldn’t speak.

She always felt that what Nathalie said was true.

Truly, she had repaid that debt to them.

Moreover, she wouldn’t treat them as she had before.

But why... why had she changed so quickly... so quickly that Ghania wasn’t prepared mentally.

What was even more terrifying for Ghania was what Nathalie said next.

”Do you remember I once told you I could raise you to the skies, and I could also pull you down from there? I wasn’t joking. I’ve already started investigating the hospital incident.”

”...”

It was only when the hospital was mentioned did she remember the incident at the hospital a few days ago.
