The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Seeing Nathalie Quinlan enter Pinecone Group_1

Jane Bailey was taken into the police station that day, and Alfred Garland immediately passed the news to Amadeus Yancey.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t say much. He made a phone call to the McKinney City Police Station and simply uttered two words, ”Severe punishment.”

The city police station then held Jane Bailey in a juvenile correctional facility that very day, awaiting the Procuratorate to follow through with judicial procedures, and denied all requests to visit her in detention.

Although the Bailey family were locals of McKinney, their financial situation was average at best. Jane’s father had passed away early, leaving only a mother at home.

Upon hearing about the incident at her school, she fainted on the spot and was hospitalized.

By the time she regained consciousness, her daughter had already been taken to the detention center.

Having no other choice, she frantically sought help through her connections, exhausting all possible relatives and friends. The highest-rank person she could reach was a police station chief. They brought generous gifts to his doorstep, but as soon as he heard that they were there regarding a No. 1 Middle School student’s intentional injury case, he sent them away without a second thought.

He also said that there was nothing he could do to help their case.

Left with no option, after running around for a day and a night and exhausting all connections, Mrs. Bailey finally remembered the words her husband had mentioned before his death.

Clutching her teeth, she sought the help of the Tucker family.

Even though they were ordinary people, Jane’s father had once driven for the head of the Tucker family. When the old man had faced danger, he had helped to take a bullet for him. They barely managed to save his life by removing the bullet, but not long after, he passed away due to complications.

The Tucker family once said they owed them a life and that if they ever needed help, they could turn to them.

At that time, having just lost her husband, she wanted nothing to do with these people and thus, never sought help from the Tucker family.

But now that Jane was in trouble, she could no longer worry about those concerns.

...

Having not gone to school for the past few days, Nathalie Quinlan had plenty of time and decided to visit the Pinecone Group.

The Pinecone Group was located in the heart of the city, where rows of towering buildings shimmered in the sunlight, glaring so brightly it hurt to look.

In the past couple of years, the Pinecone Group seemingly started treating McKinney as its second headquarters. Silvania Ingram spent big money purchasing land and constructing the group’s building in McKinney, leaving many from Beijing puzzled as to why a small place like McKinney garnered such dedicated investment from Silvania Ingram.

Nathalie Quinlan’s bus had a stop right at the Pinecone Group. She got off the bus, holding her phone in one hand and her pocket in the other, walking slowly into the Pinecone Group’s building.

The security guard seemed to recognize her, allowing Nathalie Quinlan to pass without any hindrance.

...

In the spacious and bright lobby of the Pinecone Group, Jeff Quinlan was also there today, having waited for a while already. The secretary who usually received him had not come down yet. He frequently glanced at his watch, his brow furrowing in apparent dissatisfaction.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a slender figure entering through the front door. The person was not very tall, a girl wearing a hoodie, looking somewhat like Nathalie Quinlan from the back.

How did Nathalie Quinlan get into the Pinecone Group?

He was about to take a closer look to confirm whether or not his eyes were playing tricks on him,

when the person he had been waiting for nearly half an hour finally arrived.

”Mr. Quinlan,” Jethro Yapiter had been with Silvania Ingram for a long time, a well-known right-hand man constantly by Ingram’s side.

As soon as he came down,

Jeff Quinlan couldn’t afford to take chances, immediately standing up and extending his hand with cultivated politeness, ”Mr. Yapiter, long time no see.”

Jethro Yapiter politely shook his hand and quickly let go. His face, ever smiling, showed no trace of emotion as he amiably explained, ”Just now we had an important guest arriving, and Mr. Ingram asked me to buy some fruit. I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, Mr. Quinlan.”
