The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Nathalie Face Slap_1

The police knew Nathalie Quinlan...

The head teacher, along with the other teachers who had spoken up for Nathalie, felt their hearts sink in unison.

The corners of Ghania Quinlan’s mouth couldn’t stop curling upward. She hurriedly lowered her eyelashes, fearing that others might see her taking pleasure in their misfortune.

Emilia Sullivan approached with a smile, as if holding a winning ticket, ”Hello, I was the one who made the phone call. It’s like this, I have something I would like to verify with you.”

”Did your jurisdiction have an incident of a mass brawl yesterday?”

Simon Cadwell couldn’t help but glance over at Nathalie, feeling puzzled. He had said yesterday he wanted to come to the school to commend her, hadn’t she been unwilling? Why did everyone know about it today?

He was puzzled in his heart, but his mouth replied, ”... Yes, there was such an incident, but it wasn’t exactly a mass brawl.”

At this moment, Ghania’s voice lightly sounded, ”Sister, aren’t you admitting it? As long as you apologize to Lidya’s nephew, I will plead with Lidya on your behalf. You still have a chance to turn over a new leaf.”

Simon Cadwell and the local patrol officer listened from the side, utterly confused. Turn over a new leaf? Why couldn’t they understand what she meant?

Nathalie made a mistake in her operation, and the red and blue stripes on her phone got switched. Coldness misted over her eyes as she looked up and met gazes, ”The police haven’t asked me to turn over a new leaf yet, but you went ahead and did it for me. What, are you the police?”

”...” Ghania clenched the palm of her hand, biting her lip, appearing as though she had been wronged.

Seeing her daughter at a disadvantage, Emilia Sullivan glared at Nathalie and took a step forward, stating plainly and directly, ”Mr. Cadwell, it’s like this. My husband received a phone call last night saying Nathalie got into a fight on the street and was taken to your police station. He went to bail her out last night. Do you remember this?”

A fight, the police station, last night.

Simon Cadwell connected the dots, furrowed his brows, and with dark eyes gazed at her, ”Your husband is?”

With unhidden pride on her face, Emilia Sullivan said, ”Look at me, I was too anxious and didn’t make it clear.”

”My husband is Jeff Quinlan, the CEO of the Quinlan Group.”

The Quinlan family might not have as deep a heritage in McKinney as the Fisher Family, but in recent years, they had also developed quite well. Their company had successfully gone public and was one of the key enterprises praised by the city.

Upon hearing her say this, Simon suddenly understood and made a face as if he had swallowed a fly, speaking to her in amazement, ”Didn’t your husband tell you?”

Emilia Sullivan confused, ”Tell me what?”

Jeff Quinlan had received a phone call from Aunt Cagwin the previous evening and had rushed to the police station. He returned with a very ugly look on his face, hadn’t even eaten dinner, and went straight to bed.

She thought he was upset by Nathalie’s situation.

This morning, Mrs. Fisher told her that her own relative had been beaten by Nathalie, and it was in a hurry to give Mrs. Fisher an explanation that she came to the school.

Seeing the situation, was there another story to yesterday’s evening?

She felt a vague uneasiness in her heart.

Her unease was justified. Right there, in front of everyone, the local patrol officer next to Simon spoke up, ”Yesterday, Nathalie did come to our police station, but it was at our request to help us with a transcript.”

”Last night, a group of social youths were causing trouble on Elm Street. They were assaulting citizens on the street. Nathalie just happened to be there and bravely subdued the group of mixers. She even helped us with the transcript...”

Simon, too, was all smiles, beaming like it was spring, without any air of reprimand.

”I really need to commend her for this. Nowadays, there aren’t many people like her who do good without seeking recognition. We also thought of using her as a positive example to promote within your school, but she’s too modest and didn’t let us come with a banner of recognition...”

Emilia Sullivan’s face turned white in an instant.

Nathalie went to the police station to help others?

They wanted to present Nathalie with a banner?

All her internal organs seemed to twist together, and her face burned with pain.
