The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Spreading Rumors on the School Forum_1

Some people thought the view from the balcony upstairs wasn’t clear enough, so they specifically ran downstairs, hiding in the stairwell to sneak a peek.

Even though Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t stood there for long before she left, there were still quite a few people paying attention to the commotion over here.

Jane Bailey heard the news from Class B that Ghania Quinlan and Nathalie Quinlan were confronting each other in the hallway and couldn’t sit still,, so she hurried over. Upon arrival, she saw that Nathalie Quinlan was long gone, and only Ghania Quinlan was standing there alone, her eyes slightly reddened.

Thinking Ghania Quinlan had cried, Jane rushed over, tenderly supporting Ghania Quinlan’s shoulder and asked with caution, ”Ghania, what happened? Are you okay? Why are you crying?”

Ghania Quinlan was startled,, then realizing she had been misunderstood, immediately pretended to be strong and shook her head, ”I’m fine.”

Jane Bailey was immediately enraged, with a look ready to stand up for her, and raised her voice to ask, ”Did that Nathalie Quinlan bully you?”

”...No, we just had a misunderstanding.”

”What misunderstanding?”

”...” Ghania Quinlan couldn’t possibly tell her about the incident that had just happened in the Education Office. It was too embarrassing; her face was still burning with shame.

”See, you can’t even say it, you still want to lie for her!”

Jane Bailey huffed, grasping her hand in a show of indignation on her behalf.

”Nathalie Quinlan has gone too far, just because she got into Class A, bullying us from Class B. She doesn’t think about how much she took advantage of staying at your family’s place before. If it wasn’t for your grandma finding out she wasn’t part of your family, she’d probably still be freeloading and acting like a young lady at your place.”

”Jane, stop it... I wasn’t bullied, it was just some sand that got in my eyes...” Ghania Quinlan outwardly grabbed her hand, trying to stop her from talking.

In reality, this weak form of ’persuasion’ only added fuel to the fire.

And sure enough, Jane Bailey grew even angrier, holding her hand as they walked toward Class B, ”Ghania, let’s go back to our class. If she wants to bully you, she’ll have to see if we from Class B agree! This time I will make sure she apologizes to you and then gets out of No. 1 Middle School!”

...

By the time Nathalie Quinlan returned to her class, the bell for the start of class had rung.

Class A had a strong learning atmosphere; everyone paid close attention during class, and few people were distracted.

Her seat was at the back and against the wall, where a large stack of books on her desk served as a natural barrier for playing games, doing things, and daydreaming.

She had a lot on her plate recently and had rarely found such a quiet and peaceful space to concentrate on her own matters.

She also glanced at the missed phone calls and unread messages on her Phone.

In just a short while, there were quite a few messages.

Some were from the Zachmann Family, from Audrick Zachmann, Lowie Wilmar, and even Silvania Ingram had sent her a message. There were also messages from Aunt Cagwin.

Nathalie Quinlan browsed through each message with her slender fingertips, and when she saw the latest one, a flicker of irritation crossed her eyes.

[Amadeus Yancey: How does it feel to attend your first day of class?]

Nathalie Quinlan narrowed her eyes, replying swiftly.

[NQ: Didn’t check the almanac.]

After replying, she set her Phone to Do Not Disturb mode and brought up the Stock Market charts she had been halfway through editing the other night.

...

In the blink of an eye, the morning passed.

No. 1 Middle School had a long lunch break, and after Nathalie Quinlan had lunch with Jhovany Sullivan and her friends, she heard whispering gossip upon returning to the classroom.

”Nathalie Quinlan managed to transfer to our No. 1 Middle School all thanks to her grandfather’s contributions to Hillwood County’s Education system, right? There was a special approval from above?”

”And her perfect score on the placement test, was that also due to the school teacher’s tampering, just to get her into Class A?”

”So, the class beauty’s grades aren’t real?”

”I saw on the forum someone saying she bullied the Class B beauty until she cried in the hallway. I’ve seen that Ghania Quinlan from Class B, so genteel and even her speech is delicate, Nathalie Quinlan is too domineering.”

Nathalie Quinlan heard but barely reacted, while Jhovany Sullivan beside her shook with anger. With a slap, she pushed open the class door, stormed in, her apple cheeks bright red, and stood on the lectern, furious, ”What are you all saying? Nathalie Quinlan is nothing like what you’re describing!”
