The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Where Does That Quinlan Family Girl Get to Show Off_1

He had made himself wait impatiently for nearly an hour just for buying fruit, and a momentary crack appeared on Jeff Quinlan’s face. He suppressed the irritation and said, ”It’s fine. I haven’t waited that long.”

He leaned forward eagerly and said, ”Mr. Yapiter, since you have come down, let’s go up now.”

However, Jethro Yapiter did not immediately lead him up to see Silvania Ingram as he had done before. Instead, he stood still with a troubled expression on his face and said, ”This...”

Since he didn’t move, Jeff Quinlan had no choice but to stand there with him, patiently asking, ”Mr. Yapiter, what’s the matter?”

Looking at him, Jethro Yapiter spoke gently, ”Mr. Quinlan, didn’t I just tell you? Mr. Ingram has important guests today and I’m afraid he won’t have time to see you. Could you perhaps come another time?”

Jeff Quinlan: ”...”

The Pinecone Group had always been on good terms with the Quinlan Family. Although sometimes he couldn’t understand what exactly the Pinecone Group saw in them, the fact remained that outsiders all knew that the Quinlan Family was always their first consideration for projects.

Even if the Quinlan Family’s proposals weren’t the best among the competitors and the price wasn’t the most favorable, Pinecone Group’s tenders always went to the Quinlan Family.

He had also dealt with Jethro Yapiter before; outside, Jethro Yapiter was practically half a Silvania Ingram, and his attitude towards him had always been impeccable, respectful to the point of veneration, often giving him a lot of face in front of others.

This was the first time Jethro Yapiter had spoken to him in such a tone.

After all, Jeff Quinlan was a businessman. After a brief period of discomfort, he quickly adjusted his mood, forced a smile, and humbly requested, ”Mr. Yapiter, I have an urgent matter to discuss with Mr. Ingram today. Could you please let him know and see if he can spare a moment to meet with me?”

”I see.” A hint of contempt flickered in Jethro Yapiter’s eyes, as if laughing at his inability to ’see the situation clearly’ and still acting like Ms. Quinlan’s father, making demands on him, but he still smiled warmly as a spring breeze and skillfully deflected with ”Then, Mr. Quinlan, please wait here below, and if Mr. Ingram becomes available, I will inform you.”

Jeff Quinlan was inwardly annoyed but could do nothing about it other than grit his teeth and wait below.

Meanwhile, a little knot formed in his heart, wondering if the person he just saw was Nathalie Quinlan or if his eyes were deceiving him.

Nathalie Quinlan did not come often, but Silvania Ingram had specially made a private elevator for her.

The elevator went directly to the CEO’s office without stopping at any other floors.

Nathalie Quinlan walked out of the elevator slowly, and Silvania Ingram had already approached her eagerly.

”Little ancestor, why have you only just arrived!”

Today she was wearing a magenta, hip-hugging business suit dress, which outlined her figure perfectly, and her chestnut hair was swept up in a bun at the back of her head, revealing her well-maintained face.

Everyone said Silvania Ingram was a strong woman who meant business, her word was law.

But at this moment, her face only showed doting and helplessness, and there was no trace of her usual assertive aura.

Walking on high heels, she pulled her in for a thorough checkup and anxiously touched Nathalie’s right hand, which was fitted with a metal plate, asking with concern, ”Is your hand okay, what did the doctor say?”

Nathalie Quinlan raised her hand nonchalantly and said, ”It’s a soft tissue contusion. It’ll heal in ten to fifteen days. If it heals well, I’ll be able to move it as usual, otherwise, I’ll just have to keep resting it.”

”Do you want me to find a specialist in Beijing to take another look at it?” Silvania Ingram added, then couldn’t help but cover her forehead and laugh, ”Look at me, I’m so anxious I’m confused. You’re a doctor yourself, and there are hardly any doctors in the country who can compare to you. It’s because you’re low-key, otherwise, the Quinlan Family’s daughter wouldn’t have a chance to shine.”
