The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Understanding Much More (Bonus Chapter for Votes) _1

He walked over and gave the audacious girl a sharp pat on the back.

Nathalie Quinlan’s shoulder slumped down from his pat, and the corner of her mouth twitched.

They heard Justin Wafford’s cheerful voice say, ”Now that Nathalie Quinlan is here, to celebrate our class’s victory in cooperation, I’ll treat everyone to ice pops. Let’s head to the snack bar. One for each person, choose whatever you like!”

The students of Class A cheered collectively.

And they followed him to buy ice pops.

Jhovany Sullivan also wanted to go but stopped when she saw Nathalie sitting in her seat without moving. She looked back and asked with confusion, ”Nathalie, aren’t you going?”

Nathalie took out her phone from her backpack and replied lazily, ”Don’t feel like it.”

Jhovany thought for a moment, guessing she didn’t want to run, and said with a smile, ”Then I’ll grab one for you. What flavor of ice pop do you like?”

She didn’t like any flavor, but seeing Jhovany’s hopeful eyes, Ghania leaned on her hand and said, ”...Orange, I guess.”

Jhovany noted it in her heart and told her, ”Okay, wait for me to come back.”

Outside No. 1 Middle School’s snack bar.

Ghania Quinlan had just arrived at school and remembered she had forgotten to bring her pen, intending to buy one at the snack bar. She ran into the students of Class A, who were heading into the snack bar in groups.

She furrowed her brow, puzzled, ”What are they doing?”

Jane Bailey accompanied her to buy the pen, distracted the whole way with a sullen face, especially upon seeing the jubilant students of Class A rushing into the snack bar. Her face darkened even further, her hands clenched, as she remarked enviously, ”Huh, what else could it be? Just showing off!”

Such unsightly behavior, as if they’ve never won before!

A bunch of bumpkins!

Ghania Quinlan had arrived at school almost at the same time as Nathalie due to some errands that morning. Class B was unusually quiet, with hardly anyone talking, so she was yet to learn about the results. Therefore, she turned her fair face towards Jane Bailey with confusion, ”Showing off? Showing off what?”

”The results from the start-of-term exams are out, and Class A ranked ahead of us. They’re showing off about that,” Jane Bailey said with undisguised envy, muttering, ”Hmph! What’s there to be proud of? Who knows if that Nathalie Quinlan cheated. She’s a transfer student from Braun High School, how could she possibly be the top of the class? There must be some trickery involved!”

Ghania’s face turned pale, and she almost dropped what she was holding, ”What did you say? Nathalie... scored first place?”

”Yeah.”

She was frustrated talking about it.

Everyone assumed Freddy Cagwin and that Nathalie Quinlan would drag Class A down, but hell, they both performed well.

Seeing her pale, and looking almost sick, Jane Bailey remembered her relationship with Nathalie and comforted her with a hand on her shoulder, ”Ghania, don’t compare yourself with Nathalie. She just got lucky this time, like a blind cat finding a dead mouse. You’re not like her. She comes from Hillwood County, so what if she does well in exams? Her life’s already set in stone. Your parents own a company, and your boyfriend’s family is wealthy. She can’t reach your toes, even if she jumps. Why compare yourself to her and devalue yourself?”

Ghania already felt extremely uncomfortable in her heart, but listening to her, a lot suddenly became clear.

Yes, why compare herself to Nathalie? She and Nathalie aren’t from the same world at all!

She would move to Beijing in the future, marry Zayn Fisher, and become a member of upper society.

And Nathalie’s future was as clear as could be seen with a toenail. They were destined to be different.

”Moreover, you didn’t take the test this time since you’re already assured a spot at National Artists University. If you had, she might have been behind you,” she added.

That was an overblown statement.

Ghania Quinlan usually ranked around 50th in the whole school, whereas Nathalie scored first place this time.
