The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: The Little Ancestor Who is Like Two Different People_1

Damn, if it had been anyone else, she might have already lost her temper at their intrusion.

But this person was him, intertwined with Audrick Zachmann and the Zachmann family in countless ways.

She forcefully suppressed the irritation brewing within her.

Her lips tightened, yet the contours of her face betrayed her discomfort and annoyance.

...Why did it always seem like she was being led by the nose by him?

”Edric is the child you saved last time,” Amadeus Yancey said as he took her backpack, noting its lightness as if it were empty, but without asking her about it, he slowly continued, ”Since waking up, he’s been insisting on seeing you. Shall we go see him? After that, we can head back.”

With him putting it like that, could Nathalie Quinlan refuse?

In the VIP ward on the eighth floor, the Fisher family and Ghania Quinlan had already left, looking disheartened.

Amadeus Yancey led Nathalie Quinlan through the door into the hospital room.

The child on the bed, with his butt in the air and facing away from them, heard the door open and, without turning around, said impatiently in a muffled voice.

”I don’t want to eat, I’m not hungry, I don’t want to play with toys, I don’t need your fake concern, just go away!”

Amadeus Yancey’s voice was deep, subtly commanding, ”Edric, get up.”

At the sound of Amadeus’s voice, the little figure on the bed squirmed slightly but remained under the covers, leaving them with a view of his back.

Not giving an inch of face!

A throbbing impulse bulged at Amadeus’s temples!

Yet he was completely at a loss as to what to do with the person lying on the bed.

He called out again, ”Edric. I’m talking to you, did you hear me?”

Alfred Garland watched, holding back a laugh inwardly.

Back when Amadeus roamed the streets of Beijing, doing as he pleased and acting recklessly, little Edric hadn’t been born. And when Edric was born, Amadeus was the one being overwhelmingly dominated because someone was even more capricious and uncontrollable than him!

Unfortunately, Edric’s biological mother, Amadeus’s cousin Miss Liviani, passed away from hemorrhage after giving birth, entrusting Edric to Amadeus with her dying breath.

Amadeus had a close relationship with Miss Liviani since childhood. When Miss Liviani passed away, there was no way Amadeus could neglect his little nephew.

”Edric Yancey!” Amadeus Yancey called out the boy’s name, clearly getting angry, his eyes smoldering with resentment.

Alfred Garland hurriedly intervened, trying to smooth things over, ”Amadeus, Nathalie is still here.”

Amadeus Yancey, with a headache, pinched the bridge of his nose, nearly driven to distraction by the little troublemaker and had almost forgotten Nathalie was still present.

”I’ll do it.”

Confident, Alfred Garland approached, and with a half-smile said to the reclining figure, ”Young master, it’s time to get up.”

”I won’t!” Edric Yancey’s voice was petulant, though at least he was responding to them now.

Alfred Garland persisted, ”Won’t you get up and see who’s come to visit?”

Unmoved, Edric remained wrapped in the blanket, his back turned, ”Hah, you think I’m a three-year-old child?”

What a thing to say!

Alfred Garland, somewhat amused, stood up straight and said, ”Oh, Amadeus, since the young master won’t get up, you might as well just take Miss Quinlan back home.”

The ears of the person on the bed were sharp enough to catch the words ’Nathalie Quinlan,’ and with a rustle, he threw off the blanket and sat up, ”I’m up! I’m up!”

Ghania Quinlan then saw a pair of bright, sparkling eyes staring at her, as if trying to imprint her image deeper. The little boy, about five years old, was pretty as a picture, extremely cute. At that moment, his earlobes were slightly red, looking both shy and pleased, inexplicably endearing.

”You...” It had been so long since Edric Yancey finally saw the big sister who had saved him that day; he was excited and embarrassed, terrified that she might have a poor impression of him. His hands fidgeting with the blanket, he rubbed them together for quite some time before managing to squeak out in a mosquito-like whisper, ”My, my name is Edric Yancey, h-hello, sister.”
