The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Tsinghua University Professor is Coming_1

The next day, Nathalie Quinlan went to school.

Jhovany Sullivan dragged her aside to share some juicy gossip.

The headteacher of Class B, Gabriella Cagwin, had been fired, and Class B was about to get a new teacher.

Freddy Cagwin sneered at the news, ”She should have been gone a long time ago. That kind of person doesn’t deserve to be a teacher.”

Even Jhovany Sullivan nodded in agreement, ”Exactly, where do you see teachers always picking on students, especially students from other classes? She had a bad character. No matter how well she taught, it was useless. Her departure is a huge relief, good riddance, wonderful, music to my ears!”

At last, the school made a wise decision.

Seeing the two of them so happy, Justin Wafford threw a wet blanket on their mood with a chilly interjection, ”Gabriella Cagwin is gone, but Class B will get a new headteacher. Besides, haven’t you heard the other news?”

Jhovany Sullivan: ”Heard what?”

Nathalie wasn’t interested in their conversation. She was just surprised to hear about Gabriella Cagwin getting fired and couldn’t shake off the feeling that somehow Amadeus Yancey had something to do with it.

But when she thought it through, she seemed not to have mentioned her issues with Gabriella Cagwin the night before.

She put her backpack down and took out a book. The next period was PE, and the class was noisy, everyone eager to go out and relax.

Nathalie’s stomach was upset, so she didn’t plan to go to the class.

”A very famous professor from Tsinghua University is coming to our school to give lectures. It’s said that from now on, he will come for two to three days every month to teach advanced mathematics, and the school will arrange for his public lectures to be attended by the senior classes.”

Some students overheard him and were extremely surprised.

”Tsinghua? A professor? Coming to our school?”

That’s just ridiculous!

Tsinghua University is a prestigious institution, No. 1 Middle School is somewhat known in McKinney but doesn’t rank at all in Beijing. Why would a Tsinghua professor bother coming to their school, as part of some charity work?

Justin Wafford glanced towards Nathalie with a sigh, thinking to himself that Nathalie was great in every way, except her family’s financial situation was a bit poor. He sighed, hands in his pockets, lips pursed and said, ”People in Class B are saying that the Tsinghua professor agreed to come to our school because of the school belle. Her boyfriend is a top student at Tsinghua and has good relationships with various tutors there. The school belle’s boyfriend asked the professor, and that’s why he’s condescending to come to our school...”

Ever since Class A and Class B had their feud, relations between the two classes had been bad. When everyone heard that the Tsinghua professor was coming because of Ghania, they were utterly disgusted.

No one wanted to continue the conversation.

Only Jhovany Sullivan, frowning with a look of irritation, said, ”Pssh, Ghania and those people in Class B will start getting cocky again. Can’t that Tsinghua professor see that she’s just a fragile white lotus swaying in the wind?”

Tch, she’s even learned how to insult people. Justin Wafford poked her forehead teasingly, with a mock smile, ”You sound so bitter. Who asked her to snag such an impressive boyfriend?”

Annoyed, Jhovany Sullivan glared at him, dodged away clutching her forehead, and retorted loudly, ”Yeah, right. That just shows some boys in our class lack the ability to invite a Tsinghua professor to strut their stuff for them!”

At that moment, Nathalie’s Phone rang.

It was a Text message from Audrick Zachmann.

[Nathalie, your dad is worried about you studying alone at No. 1 Middle School and not getting used to it. He has applied to give a three-day public lecture every month at your school until you graduate from high school.]

Nathalie massaged her forehead, with a resigned feeling of ’I knew it’. The moment she heard the words ’Tsinghua professor’, her heart had skipped a beat, and sure enough...

[By the way, I’ll be back in a few days, so you behave at home. I’ll bring you a Gift when I return. (*￣3)(ε￣*)]

Nathalie stared at the emoji at the end of the message, imagining a grown man sending such an emoticon, and felt a chill. She deleted the text message without expression.
