The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: You Should Worry About Yourself Rather Than Worrying About Her_1

No one in Class A took Nathalie Quinlan’s words seriously, even Justin Wafford and Jhovany Sullivan thought her real score must have been too bad to mention.

Each of them studied hard, determined to score a few more points to help raise Nathalie’s average.

Before they knew it, the day of the exam had arrived. A large group from Class A agreed to meet up and find their exam rooms together. While checking her own room number, Nathalie took a glance.

1102, she had thought it would be far away, but it turned out to be right next to Class B.

”I’m in 1204, Justin Wafford and the others are in 1605. Nathalie, which room are you in?” Jhovany Sullivan followed her out of the classroom, arriving just at Class B, and curiously asked her, seeing her casually holding the freshly distributed piece of paper with the exam room assignments.

Nathalie crumpled the note into a ball and threw it into a trash can from a distance, mockery flashing in her eyes, ”1102, number 1.”

Jhovany was taken aback; such a coincidence that it was the first seat in the first row of Class B.

His heart sank, as he had prepared some commonly used formula cheat sheets for Nathalie, thinking to sneak them to her, but now it seemed there was no chance to use them.

At this moment, students from Class B also started gathering their things, taking their exam numbers to find their rooms.

Surrounded by her peers like a moon amongst stars, Ghania Quinlan walked out confidently.

Jane Bailey’s eyes turned green with envy when she saw Nathalie, standing up like a crazed fighting rooster with all its feathers on end, ”Heh, look who it is? Isn’t this our class’s top scorer from the placement test, Nathalie Quinlan? I heard you’ve boldly claimed you will be the top scorer for the class this time? Ha, has Class A fallen so low that it needs to rely on someone who cheated and pulled strings to be number one?”

Immediately, Jhovany Sullivan, who was standing beside Nathalie, stepped forward, his apple cheeks flushed red with anger: ”Jane Bailey, watch your mouth!”

”How is speaking the truth dirty? With you dragging them down, I’m waiting for Class A to hand over the title of ’Excellent Class’ to us!” Jane Bailey refused to back down. She was tall, and her aggressive manner in argument made her seem even taller, effectively overshadowing Jhovany. Her loud voice angered the passing students from Class A, all fuming and itching to confront her.

Nathalie narrowed her eyes, her dark pupils fiercely restrained, and she stopped Jhovany, who was about ready to charge forward and fight the others, locking eyes with Jane Bailey’s provocative gaze and said coldly, ”I’ll be waiting for you to take it.”

Take what?

The title of ’Excellent Class’.

Jane Bailey, initially full of bravado, suddenly seemed cowed, coming off more like a shrew. She was about to lash out at Nathalie again when Ghania pulled her back, speaking softly, ”Alright, Jane, the exam is about to start, let’s stop this. Have you found your examination room? Let’s go find it now.”

When she spoke up, Jane reluctantly shouted at Nathalie’s group, ”You just got lucky!”

While linking arms with Ghania Quinlan, she lifted her chin proudly, ”Ghania, let’s go.”

As Ghania passed by Nathalie and her group, she gave them a gentle smile and spoke softly, ”Sis, do your best. I believe in you. I’m waiting to see your score.”

After they went upstairs, Jhovany Sullivan, with a pale face looking utterly disgusted, said, ”What’s up with that Ghania Quinlan? Why do I feel like she’s even more nauseating than Jane Bailey, acting as if she’s certain you won’t do well.”

”She keeps saying she believes you can do it; couldn’t she just have said ’do your best and perform well’? No, she had to say she’s ’waiting for your exam results.’ It’s like she’s waiting to see a joke unfold.”

As the bell for the exam preparations rang, Jhovany Sullivan wanted to say more but there wasn’t time; he just patted Nathalie on the shoulder, trying to muster a smile and encouragingly said, ”Nathalie, don’t feel pressured, no matter how you do, no one will blame you. Just give a performance that’s up to your usual standard.”

Nathalie replied nonchalantly, ”Hmm, I’ll try my best.”

Freddy Cagwin, who was the last to leave the classroom, happened to overhear their pep talk and couldn’t help but smirk while pulling Jhovany Sullivan up the stairs by the clothes, ”Come on, let’s find our own rooms. She doesn’t need your worry. You’ll do better to worry about yourself!”

Nathalie Quinlan, need the concern of ordinary high school students like them?
