Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 140: Chapter 79: Psychic and Solution_3

”Don’t tell anyone else about your psychic abilities, and don’t explain what your abilities can do.”

”I’m not stupid.”

Chen Ming paused after speaking and brought up a potentially unpleasant topic: ”Since you want to befriend me as a Psychic, is there something you want from me?”

The boss didn’t show any discomfort due to Chen Ming’s question, but instead, he said quite frankly, ”Being friends with a Psychic is a benefit in itself.”

”Of course, initially I did have other interests in mind, and to be honest, I still have them, but benefits and relationships are not necessarily inseparable.”

As he spoke, the boss extended his hand to Chen Ming.

”Friends?”

Chen Ming considered it briefly.

He placed his hand on his helmet, removed it, and set it aside to let the boss see his face.

Then he also extended his hand and shook hands with him.

”Chen Ming.”

The boss’s face showed a satisfied smile.

”Wu An.”

He suddenly patted Chen Ming’s shoulder and said, ”I almost forgot about the benefit I promised you for bringing someone back for me. I can’t think of anything suitable to give you right now; why don’t you just tell me?”

Chen Ming said straightforwardly, ”I want to know some things.”

”No problem, ask away.”

”What exactly is a Psychic?”

”Good question.”

The boss repeated Chen Ming’s question and answered, ”Someone who influences reality with their will.”

”There are many different types of Psychics, and it’s not something that can be explained in a few words. It’s related to human existence.”

”Actually, it’s best if you don’t know too much and don’t try to learn about spiritual energy.”

”Why?”

”Because you’re a naturally awakened Psychic, not someone who awakened in other ways.”

”It’s best for naturally awakened Psychics not to get involved with these systematic things. Although systematic learning can indeed speed up your progress with spiritual energy, it will also limit the development cap of your abilities.”

Chen Ming was silent for a moment, digesting what the boss said, then asked, ”So you mean I should explore on my own?”

”Right, continue as you did before.”

”If you’re really interested, in the future when you reach the limit of your personal development, I can help you contact a professional institution for a check-up to determine the specifics of your psychic abilities.”

”Okay.”

”Oh right, even though you shouldn’t learn systematic spiritual energy, there’s still something you need to know.”

”Psychics are people who influence reality through their will, and spiritual energy is just a tool to influence reality.”

”That’s it.”

The boss said this as he patted Chen Ming’s shoulder again, not knowing whether he or Old Wu had passed this habit to each other.

”Practice your spiritual energy well, and when you reach a certain level, you’ll understand it yourself. Then, you can come find me.”

Chen Ming thanked the boss and said, ”Got it. I have another question.”

”Go ahead.”

”What is a Spiritual Stone?”

The boss raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Chen Ming, asking, ”Do you have it with you?”

”No.”

”Oh, that’s perfect, I happen to have one here.”

The boss casually pulled a stone out of his coat pocket. Like Chen Ming’s Spiritual Stone, it was covered with patterns.

However, it didn’t have the twisted patterns like Chen Ming’s Whispering Stone, but rather some very pleasant flowing patterns.

Chen Ming said directly, ”This is different from mine.”

”That’s normal, Spiritual Stones come in different types.”

The boss held the Spiritual Stone in his hand and said, ”Since you want to know the effect of a Spiritual Stone, I can show you now.”

As the boss spoke, something very familiar but invisible appeared about him.

So familiar, it seemed to have always existed around him, constantly accompanying him: a fluctuation of spiritual energy.

But Chen Ming couldn’t control the spiritual energy fluctuations himself, which might be a disadvantage of self-awakening without systematic learning.

Chen Ming didn’t ponder too long on this as there were changes in the Spiritual Stone in the boss’s hand.

The patterns glowed, and a gentle white light enveloped everything within three meters of the Spiritual Stone.

Chen Ming, wrapped in the white light, felt a peaceful and calm sensation rise in his heart.

His anxiety about future developments and the potential unknown dangers vanished.

The entire person was filled with unprecedented vitality.

However, that feeling suddenly dissipated. The boss withdrew the spiritual energy fluctuation and once again appeared as the seemingly lazy, ordinary man in his middle years.

The boss tucked the Spiritual Stone back into his pocket and said, ”That’s the effect of a Spiritual Stone.”

”My Spiritual Stone is ’Gentle,’ and it can bring about this gentle and comfortable feeling when activated.”

”Generally speaking, activating it with stronger spiritual energy fluctuations yields better effects and covers a larger range.”

”It’s also not necessary for a Psychic to activate it; some special designs or materials with energy properties can also activate it.”

”That’s actually the basis of spiritual weapon development...”

The boss suddenly cleared his throat and said, ”I digressed, knowing this temporarily doesn’t help you. So, what’s the effect of your stone?”

”Whispering.”

”Whispering, huh... No wonder you didn’t bring it with you. You can occasionally touch that Whispering Stone at home; it’ll benefit you.”

”Is there anything else?”

Chen Ming thought for a moment and said, ”Yes, that Luder Church you mentioned last time.”
