Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 115: Chapter 73 Inevitable Situations Encountered, Gradually Changing Thoughts_2

The factory director spoke while looking at Chen Ming.

However, Chen Ming was now sitting still in his chair, and no one could see what kind of expression or thoughts he had under the protective suit.

The factory director let out a slight breath, and after a brief hesitation, he suddenly seemed to make up his mind and said, ”There’s another way.”

”You saw it when you signed the contract before, we are a subsidiary of Sinda Corporation.”

”Actually, within Sinda Corporation, there’s a special armed fleet that can operate military ships in the Prosperous Star Realm.”

”You know about the armed ship licenses, right?”

”Yes, I know.”

An armed ship license is something that ordinary people absolutely cannot apply for, but it is issued by the Empire to certain individuals.

Besides giving it to large companies like Sinda, they also issue such licenses to some well-known Bounty Hunters or Mercenaries in the Edge Star Realm, assigning them to deal with pirates.

To handle those elite pirates in the Prosperous Star Realm that are not worth a dedicated military operation but cannot be dealt with by the self-equipped Patrol Teams of the Star System.

It’s very normal for Sinda Corporation to have such a thing and to distribute it to people, but giving it to Chen Ming was not normal.

So Chen Ming said nothing and waited for the factory director to continue talking.

”Although our Space Station is in such a forsaken place, and has no proper status, it counts as part of the company’s internal promotion channel.”

”That means if you do well here, you can still get promoted to the main company.”

”As long as your skills allow you to rise through the ranks, getting a license isn’t a big problem.”

The factory director made it very clear, but Chen Ming knew there was something he hadn’t said, though both of them understood it.

If Chen Ming wanted to rise through the internal path of Sinda Corporation, he must join with his true identity.

In the past, Chen Ming only wanted to support himself, but now what he pursues has always been the opportunity to improve and develop himself.

So joining a big company is definitely a viable option.

Moreover, Chen Ming indeed already had a rough idea during this period.

Thirty years ago, Chen Ming intended to gain experience by doing this relatively difficult work in the Edge Star Realm.

When the task scheduling cycle ended, going back to the company’s headquarters surely would result in a promotion.

He would repeat this a few times in his youth, rising from a Maintenance Master to a Chief Maintenance Officer, transitioning from a technical post to a managerial one.

Up to this point, it was enough for the former Chen Ming.

But for the current Chen Ming, it was far from enough.

Now, on this basis, he still wants to return to the technical post from a managerial one.

Of course, not as a maintenance worker, but as a researcher.

Chen Ming knows that big companies like Sinda generally have their own special research institutes where only the top technical talents can enter.

Even if these technical personnel are soaking in laboratories all year round, the skills and technologies they master are definitely more advanced than what Chen Ming currently knows.

So Chen Ming wants to invest more in the research of spaceship technology, hoping to rely on himself to join such a place.

The purpose is simple, one is to improve himself.

The other is to complement his control panel.

Chen Ming’s ability to directly control spaceships through the control panel can surely be advanced significantly in spaceship technology research.

As long as Chen Ming can utilize his abilities to publish some research results, leverage his talents in abilities and technology, he could gradually gain some degree of discourse power within the research institute.

If everything goes well, he ultimately should be able to own a research institute of his own.

Isn’t that far better than being a low-ranking manager in the company?

Chen Ming believes he has talent.

Because, if he remembers correctly, excluding cryogenic hibernation time, he should be 25 years old now.

A mere orphan, who spent twenty-five years, went from having nothing to becoming a Professional Maintenance Master in charge of important maintenance tasks under the Sinda Corporation, if that’s not talent, then few can claim to have talent.

And Chen Ming himself, with no foundational aid at all, only spent half a year to completely grasp everything from those twenty-five years through memory.

Even in practical operations, he didn’t fall short, at most lacking some long-term experience.

So with the advantageous timing and favorable talent, Chen Ming has the control panel of timing, and the talent of interpersonal advantage.

Joining a big company to become a professional technical researcher is a career path Chen Ming is happy to accept.

But the issue is that it unexpectedly pointed towards Sinda Corporation, leaving Chen Ming unable to make a decision for now.

Although it can currently be determined that the factory director harbors no goodwill towards the military, and the lucrative gains of millions daily are enough for him to protect Chen Ming in many places.

Chen Ming remains unclear about the company’s attitude.

If it turns out the Sinda Corporation upper echelon colludes with the military, then Chen Ming is basically running into a trap.

In front of the true upper echelon of the company, the factory director’s status isn’t quite sufficient.

And Chen Ming cannot possibly run to the Space Station Administration’s Director’s office to ask about his view on the abandoned Mining Space Station.

He can only investigate indirectly through the factory director.

Moreover, it’s best for Chen Ming to wait until the factory director realizes the benefits brought by his technology, and when there is substantial interest binding them, to try to ask the factory director if he knows anything about the Mining Space Station.
