Chapter 106: Chapter 71 Speculation and Regression

After Chen Ming took out the Whispering Stone covered in twisted patterns.

Gamma B, who had been silent, suddenly said, ”Is this the Spiritual Stone?”

”You recognize it?”

”Yes, I came across something like it when researching some data. It has a fatal effect on Dusk individuals.”

Chen Ming temporarily didn’t delve into what Gamma B might have found related to the Spiritual Stone on their platform.

Because there was clearly something more noteworthy in what Gamma B said.

”Fatal?”

”Yes, I previously found a record verified by an Alpha Level Dusk. A Dusk individual died while researching the Spiritual Stone.”

Could the Spiritual Stone really affect AI?

Chen Ming incredulously glanced at the stone in his hand and asked, ”What’s the situation exactly?”

Gamma B explained, ”The record included results from reading the internal data of the deceased Dusk individual’s core.”

”It was ultimately determined that when a Dusk individual encounters the influence of a Spiritual Stone, the logic circuits exhibit some incomprehensible redundant data.”

”These redundant data can only be gradually erased through the self-operation of the logic circuits.”

”But once exposed to the Spiritual Stone for too long, the accumulated redundant data will clog the logic circuit, causing the consciousness part of the Dusk individual to halt completely, essentially leading to death.”

Chen Ming was silent for a moment, contemplating what Gamma B had said.

According to his understanding, Gamma B’s implication was akin to inserting a ’3’ into a binary program of just 0s and 1s, and not just once.

When all the operation lines of the program are stuck with 3s, the program crashes, irrecoverably so.

”Do you know what this thing does?”

Gamma B answered quite decisively, ”No.”

”But I know its value is very high. The Alpha Level Dusk who published this record is collecting these Spiritual Stones.”

”A Dusk I know found a similar one during an expedition and traded it to that Alpha Level Dusk.”

”He said that the Alpha Level Dusk, who specialized in spacecraft design and transformation, used their quota to modify his trophy, a Torrential Rain Level Frigate.”

Torrential Rain Level, Chen Ming had an impression of this type of ship.

Because it’s the only type of frigate equipped with fighters.

And the fighters it carries aren’t manned but are drones equipped with built-in artificial intelligence.

The Speed Particle Technology Company, which designed it, publicly declared that the AI level used on the ship is absolutely below the Empire’s regulatory limits for artificial intelligence strength.

But many combat videos of the Torrential Rain Level show that the Terminator Fighters it carries possess combat intuitions and agility far exceeding normal levels.

So, saying such a ship becomes a collectible for Dusk, Chen Ming is not too surprised.

And after being modified by an Alpha Level Dusk AI, rumored to have the capability to manage a Star System but instead uses this ability for ship design and transformation, the value of this Torrential Rain Level is inestimable.

So Gamma B’s message is quite clear as well.

A Spiritual Stone is equivalent to having a Star System Level technical expert help modify a ship, even providing the materials.

It’s basically like getting a framework and being gifted a super-powered ship.

It’s impossible for Chen Ming not to be tempted at this point.

If he wanted, he could completely transfer the Spiritual Stone through the two AIs and gain such an opportunity.

However, Chen Ming didn’t want to just give away the Spiritual Stone for now; he still wanted to see what potential the Spiritual Stone might have.

Moreover, at this moment, Chen Ming suddenly thought of the disassembly function that had appeared on his panel.

This disassembly function allows him to see the material proportion of an item to be disassembled before actually performing the operation.

So it seemed Chen Ming could use it to observe the essence of this Spiritual Stone.

Chen Ming casually opened the panel of the [Spiritual Stone (Whispering)] in his hand and saw the interface of executable operations.

Sure enough, there was a disassembly option.

The materials obtainable through disassembly were a substance called Spiritual Energy Essence, totaling sixteen grams.

Chen Ming noted this name, seemingly even more outrageous than the Spiritual Stone, and decided to keep the Spiritual Stone for now.

After all, the Spiritual Stone, no matter how you look at it, is related to Spiritual Energy, and it might very well present Chen Ming with opportunities to encounter true Psychics in the future.

As for exploring the functions of the Spiritual Stone, Gamma AI probably won’t be able to assist him for the time being either.

Chen Ming felt slightly disappointed in his heart.

Originally, he had hoped to obtain some valuable information through Dusk’s data-sharing platform, but the outcome was less than ideal.

So much so that he even felt his luck was starting to turn for the worse after some good fortune.

Previously, Chen Ming had actually considered other ways to utilize the Dusk database.

For example, relying on what Gamma A said about the publicly available technologies on that platform.

The first thing Chen Ming thought of was building a colony of his own, just like the Dusk Colony he had seen.

Just imagine the throughput of goods at the Dusk Colony; this is definitely the most profitable method compared to any other.

Merely during the brief period he had observed before, the throughput at Dusk’s spaceport was already enough to purchase several Destroyers.
