Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 102: Chapter 70: The Individual of Dusk and the Inventory

Gamma A selected a landing site at a spaceship factory on their colony.

During the descent, the advanced industrial equipment that almost completely covered the surface gradually appeared before Chen Ming’s eyes.

He looked at the giant machinery in operation and asked the Gamma AI: ”Are these devices all controlled by Dusk individuals?”

”For the most part, yes. However, there are also many fully automated machines that don’t require specialized control, with only a few individuals needed for overall regulation.”

After receiving the answer, Chen Ming didn’t pay too much attention to the Dusk AI integrated with the industrial facilities.

To him, if even the AI core on the spaceship was hard to handle, then the cores fixed in these equipment would be even more difficult to manage.

So Chen Ming sat obediently in the captain’s room of the Iron Ore No., quietly watching as the Refraction was transferred into the factory after landing.

Watching various equipment performing maintenance actions on its surface that Chen Ming had already seen countless times.

The waiting process was somewhat tedious, so Chen Ming actively asked Gamma A: ”What about your mission reward?”

”Three Mechanical Race ship chips will be integrated into my core during maintenance, and the monthly supply quota will be automatically recorded.”

”Oh, okay.”

Chen Ming casually agreed, his attention gradually being drawn to the machinery in operation.

Because while watching those devices operate, he suddenly thought of his own ability.

Although his ability seemed to merely control spaceships.

In reality, anything associated with the spaceship could be controlled by Chen Ming’s power.

Even a handgun unrelated to the spaceship would have the same effect if it was just placed on the spaceship.

And although Chen Ming currently couldn’t control these maintenance devices, if he replicated them and installed them on the spaceship, the situation would change significantly.

Chen Ming didn’t really understand the principle behind this; what was the essence of his ability?

After pondering for a while and still not understanding, Chen Ming decided not to think about it further.

Because the maintenance of the Refraction didn’t take too long.

He still had other things to do now.

The Refraction took to the skies once more.

What Chen Ming saw after the spaceship took off was the gigantic equipment he had already seen once during landing.

This is one of the most classic designs in human history.

A device that goes straight to the Earth’s core.

The Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower.

It provides a continuous supply of energy to all buildings in the colony and is also the colony’s core.

Numerous industrial buildings radiate outward in rings from it, covering the planet’s land with metal.

Casually glancing at these structures, Chen Ming spotted many stamping machines and large deep-drill equipment.

A vast amount of fragmented minerals were being propelled to the surface, while even more complete ores from veins were being directly extracted through deep drilling.

These ores were transported through the logistics channels spread throughout the colony to the vicinity of the Earth Core Melting Furnace, where they were smelted using the intense heat here.

Some finished products went directly into other factories to continue the next production step.

Others were transported via the Space Elevator to a nearby spaceport at the edge of the surface.

Later, they would be shipped to other Dusk colonies on a heavy cruiser cargo ship called the Giant Level.

While transporting industrial products and smelting results out of the spaceport, many foreign cargo ships also brought in external resources unavailable on this planet, feeding them into the operational industrial equipment.

After all, since this planet had the foundation of industrial facilities, Dusk chose to either transfer other compatible industrial facilities here or simply build new ones to perform clustered production.

Thus, although Chen Ming didn’t see a fusion materials production center, there still existed facilities for producing spaceship fuel on the planet.

Along with the aforementioned stamping machines, large deep-drills, and spaceship factories, a vast number of industrial facilities occupied almost 90% of the colony’s territory.

It was these industrial facilities that formed a complete heavy industrial colony belonging to Dusk on this planet.

The combined coverage area of all Dusk buildings in the colony occupied about one-fifth of this planet’s surface, which is only one-fourth the size of Earth.

So after leaving this industrial-filled area, Chen Ming could still see a desolate expanse.

He then suddenly noticed that outside the colony on the desolate planet surface, there seemed to be some scattered objects similar to mechanical bodies with the ability to move.

These mechanical bodies were made of different materials and had varying shapes, completely unlike the Mechanical Race Chen Ming had seen before.

So he directly asked Gamma A: ”What is that?”

Gamma A clearly had noticed those mechanical bodies earlier, and said: ”They are Dusk individuals, only their carriers are those machines.”

”Dusk individuals have many similarities and many differences.”

”Some choose to explore the stars, while others opt to remain on the planet because there’s always some corner of the planet holding untold discoveries.”

Chen Ming, somewhat confused, said: ”So they are explorers?”

”Even though you haven’t completely developed this planet, you’ve surely conducted large-scale scans, right? You can clear things up by scanning directly, so do they really need to explore step by step?”
