Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 136: Chapter 78 Delivery and New Transformation Ideas_3

When ensuring his own combat capabilities, first address the issue of the increasing number of ships and outdated ship control systems.

And the best way to solve this problem is to find Dusk and let Dusk’s AI assist him in controlling his ships.

Chen Ming doesn’t expect the more advanced Beta Core or even Alpha Core that can control Destroyers, but he still wants to get a few Gamma Level AI Cores, ideally enough to control all the ships he currently has.

Previously, Chen Ming specifically asked Gamma A if there were instances of individual Dusks teaming up for planet exploration.

Gamma A’s response was affirmative.

So, on Dusk’s information exchange platform, those individual Dusks who have gathered their kind for exploration are Chen Ming’s best targets to capture.

It seems he ought to prepare a robot capable of exploration on the planet, to mix in and stir things up under the guise of Gamma AB.

Moreover, this robot can have another use.

Which is to help Chen Ming with tasks he can’t personally take the risk to perform.

For example, recently, in controlling the Pirate Ship.

If Chen Ming had one or several powerful combat robots at the time,

After the Pirate Ship was incapacitated, they could immediately board the ship and eliminate the pirates, sparing Chen Ming a considerable amount of time and saving him from much hassle with the Pirate Leader.

Chen Ming is already preparing to do this, not only through Sinda Corporation but also leveraging his own abilities, advancing on both fronts.

As for the latter part, it has to wait until Chen Ming finishes what he is currently undertaking to have the time to do.

However, preliminary preparations, like preparing robots, can actually be started now.

Taking some time to handle this later shouldn’t require too much time.

Chen Ming gradually fell asleep in continuous thoughts.

Upon waking, it was already the second day.

Outside Iron Ore No., the weapons requiring refurbishment, which the factory head had people transport over during the night, had already piled up.

After moving them onto the ship, Chen Ming spent five minutes completing the batch repair of weapons.

After placing the refurbished goods back in their original position, Chen Ming headed straight to the Mule Level that stopped at the repair factory yesterday.

Planning to repair and modify the Mule Level.

Previously, at the Dark Graveyard, because he needed to transport people back quickly and having already dismantled several ships before,

Chen Ming didn’t have the time or energy to do modifications and repairs.

Therefore, it had to be deferred until now.

Chen Ming casually opened the panel of the Mule Level.

[Ship Panel]

[Ship Name: None]

[Type: Mule Level Armed Merchant Ship]

[Radiant Energy Capacity: 0/600]

[Radiant Energy Dissipation: 50]

[Fuel Reserves: 37%]

[Port Weapons: Lightweight Assault Cannon (small)*2]

[Starboard Weapons: Lightweight Assault Cannon (small)*2]

[Top Weapons: Assault Chain Gun (medium)]

[Rear Weapons: Vulcan Point-defense Cannon (small)]

[Armor: Titanium Alloy External Armor]

[Engine: Civilian Customized Destroyer Engine]

[Internal Compartments: Captain’s Compartment, Engine Compartment, Bridge Control Compartment, Weapon Control Compartment, Living Compartments*4, Small Cargo Storage Compartment*2]

[Important Equipment: Control System Module (in operation), Landing Module (in operation), Superspace Navigation System Module (in operation), Gravity Simulation Module (in operation), Guard Level Radiant Energy System (in operation), Guard Level Full-angle Shield Module (in operation)]

Immediately, Chen Ming noticed the change in weapon display on the panel, which appeared alongside the dismantling function.

It looks more convenient, but it doesn’t affect Chen Ming much.

Anyway, if there’s a problem, simply opening the panel with more detailed recorded information would be sufficient.

Overall, the Mule Level’s panel looked to Chen Ming like just an ordinary merchant ship crudely modified for military use.

The most evident part of the crude modification on the ship lies in its Radiant Energy System.

Although it is a Frigate-level Radiant Energy System, its capacity and dissipation are even inferior to that of the Centurion, which has a relatively poor shield.

So much so that Chen Ming even considered dismantling the Radiant Energy System entirely to replace it with a Destroyer-level Radiant Energy System.

However, it’s just a thought and a complaint, he still has to use the Frigate-level Radiant Energy System.

After all, Chen Ming can’t afford a more advanced Radiant Energy System at the moment.

Thus, it’s better to think about how to repair the Mule Level as well as possible.

Modifying the ship has actually almost become Chen Ming’s standard procedure before officially utilizing a ship.

As for the ship’s final direction of modification, it is determined by its intended use.

The use of the Mule Level Cargo Ship is simple.

Transport cargo.

A 120-meter long Mule Level is equipped with two small cargo storage compartments.

Although they sound small, these specialized small cargo storage compartments have a substantial internal capacity of 30*30*30.

Internally divided into upper, middle, and lower layers, even one layer has dozens of times the capacity of Iron Ore No’s 5*5*5 storage compartments.

Moreover, the original size of Iron Ore No is 33 meters long, 15 meters wide, and 7 meters high, and after modification, it’s even smaller.

Meaning, a single complete cargo hold could directly fit six Iron Ore Nos inside.

The actual carrying capacity exceeds even the larger body size of the Refraction Level.

However, that’s understandable, since one is an electromagnetic ship assisting in combat, loaded internally with a lot of electromagnetic or other type equipment.
