After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2248: Chapter 2252: Could You Cry Somewhere Else, Please?

Lei Wenting looked at her, but there was no pity in his eyes, only sternness.

”I said, apologize!”

Lei Qingqing pressed her lips tightly together, but her eyes were already filled with a haze she couldn’t hide.

The events from back then have always been a shadow in her heart. Clearly, Leng Zirui was at fault first, yet Lei Wenting not only reprimanded her but also hit her in front of so many people. She just felt more aggrieved, and the stubborn streak in her bones rose up, refusing to speak.

”Forget it!” Leng Zirui had already risen from the table, casually picking up the Butterfly Knife from the table. ”Miss Qing Qing was just playing around with me earlier, Mr. Lei, why bother?”

Lei Wenting’s gaze swept over Lei Qingqing, a flash of displeasure in his eyes. When he looked at Leng Zirui again, his lips lifted in a sophisticated, gentleman-like smile. ”Qingqing has such a stubborn temper, Mr. ROY, please don’t mind. Later, I’ll personally pour you wine and make amends.”

”No need, no need!” Leng Zirui quickly gestured with his hand and came forward, stuffing the Butterfly Knife into Lei Qingqing’s coat pocket. ”There’s a saying in China, ’Family members shouldn’t keep distinctions.’ We’re all family now, why be so formal?”

”Exactly, exactly!” Lei Wenting laughed, holding his arm. ”Family members shouldn’t keep distinctions, Mr. ROY is quite knowledgeable about Chinese culture. Qing Qing, shouldn’t you go prepare the wine and dishes? I want to have a good drink and chat with Mr. ROY.”

Lei Qingqing turned and walked out of the office, striding quickly into the washroom, a female subordinate hurriedly chased after her.

”Miss, do you want me to get you an ice pack?”

”Get out!”

Lei Qingqing roared.

The subordinate quickly retreated, Lei Qingqing splashed cold water on her face multiple times. When she looked up again, the mirror reflected her face, one cheek noticeably swollen, eyes bloodshot, and water droplets hanging at the corner of her eyes, it was unclear if they were from washing or tears.

Reaching into her pocket to find a handkerchief, her fingers didn’t find one but instead touched a cold Butterfly Knife.

Withdrawing her fingers from her pocket clutching the Butterfly Knife, Lei Qingqing looked down at the knife, seeing Lei Wenting’s face flash before her eyes.

”Qing Qing, this knife is from your godfather. In the future, whether in Rome or in Italy, as long as your godfather has a breath left, he’ll protect you like this knife, never letting anyone bully you.”

This was what Lei Wenting said to her when he gave her the knife years ago.

Because of this statement, these years Lei Qingqing risked her life for Lei Wenting, helping him seize territory and fight for power. She didn’t know how many injuries she had suffered, how many times she walked past the door of death, yet she never regretted it.

Having no parents since she was young, she had always considered Lei Wenting as her biological father.

But now, he... hit her for the first time, because of an outsider.

Lei Qingqing gripped the Butterfly Knife tightly, only feeling her heart as cold as the knife.

The washroom door was gently pushed open.

”Get out!”

Lei Qingqing growled unhappily.

The footsteps approached her at an unhurried pace.

”I said get out, didn’t you hear?!” Lei Qingqing shouted with her back to the person.

”Excuse me, this is the men’s washroom, I don’t have the habit of using the women’s room.” Leng Zirui glanced at Lei Qingqing in the mirror. ”Could you cry somewhere else, okay?!”
