After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2240: Chapter 2244: The Advantages of Being a Chef

There was a gentle sound beside him, and Leng Zimo withdrew his gaze, only to see Luo Xiaoqian smiling as she walked around the coffee table and sat on the sofa opposite him.

It was rare that Luo Ke wasn’t around, and only then could she finally relax a bit and sit like this with him, sunbathing. Even though they couldn’t chat with the maid around, it was already an enjoyable thing for her.

Leng Zimo glanced at the clock on the wall, which showed 11:03.

”What do you want for lunch?”

After a glance, he turned to the maid returning to the kitchen and spoke softly.

She replied softly, ”I’m not hungry yet, no rush.”

It’s rare to sit with him for a while, and she didn’t want him to leave just yet.

Across the coffee table, Leng Zimo looked at her, smiled indulgently, and said nothing. He simply leaned back, resting against the sofa back, smiling at her while letting her gaze upon him.

The dazzling sunlight poured in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing him all over.

He wore just a simple white shirt and ordinary black trousers. Yet, somehow, these two pieces of clothing on him exuded a strong aura of nobility.

That man was a born king.

Luo Xiaoqian looked at him, imagining him strategizing at his desk, picturing him devotedly playing the piano on stage... A smile lingered on her lips.

That night, Xu Xia had told her many things, but due to her questions, many conversations were diverted, and several things were left half-said.

Now, Luo Xiaoqian was filled with curiosity.

She couldn’t imagine how someone like him could propose to her on a stage under everyone’s gaze.

She couldn’t imagine him looking disappointed while searching in the rain.

Even more, she couldn’t imagine seeing him covered in mud, digging through mudslides...

”What are you thinking?”

Leng Zimo asked softly.

She answered simply, with just one word.

”You.”

He understood.

”In the future, I’ll slowly tell you everything.”

Even if she couldn’t regain her memory, it didn’t matter. With a lifetime being so long, he had enough time to tell her those minute details, bit by bit.

Then, Leng Zimo stood up, smiled at her, and walked into the kitchen.

It was time to prepare lunch. His dear wife and their little princess couldn’t go hungry.

Leng Zimo strode into the kitchen to prepare lunch for Luo Xiaoqian, then turned to the two maids and said, ”You two don’t have to prepare a separate lunch anymore. With only seven or eight people on the island, let’s just eat the lunch I make. There’s plenty anyway; the Madam can’t finish it all.”

”Isn’t this improper?” one maid hesitated.

”Don’t like my Chinese cuisine?” Leng Zimo asked.

”Of course not,” the other maid said with a smile. ”Then we’ll take it easy, Mr. L.”

Leng Zimo smiled, ”Go and keep the Madam company then. I’ll handle this here; it’s easy to make meals for a few people.”

To successfully take Luo Xiaoqian away and then rescue Dr. Yin Yi, he had to settle everything alone, which seemed a bit challenging.

But now, as a chef, if he really wanted to do it, it could be easy.

Even on the way here, Leng Zimo had already thought of a strategy.

His plan had begun with the first step—having everyone gather—He intended to manage the appetites of those on the island, thereby controlling their everything, including their lives and deaths.
