After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2232: Chapter 2236: Who Are You Trying to Fool?

”ROY, bastard, scum, liar... ”

Xu Xia struggled while shouting the harshest words she could think of without being too excessive.

”Idiot, I’m your husband, Leng Zirui!”

Watching her thrash about like a little madwoman, Leng Zirui was worried she might actually do something outrageous, so he had no choice but to reveal the truth.

Humph!

Finally telling the truth?!

Xu Xia stopped struggling and looked at Leng Zirui in front of her.

”Who are you trying to fool?!”

”I really didn’t lie to you. If you don’t believe me, look at this...” Leng Zirui got up, grabbed his pants from the ground, and pulled out the sunscreen she had given him, ”The sunscreen box you gave me, I’ve always kept it with me.”

Xu Xia took the sunscreen from his hand and immediately recognized it as the one she had given him.

It seemed like it had been used a couple of times, but it was well-preserved and looked brand new.

Xu Xia, looking at the sunscreen in her hand, was slightly surprised and felt a bit of joy rise in her heart.

This guy...

”Now, do you believe me?!” Leng Zirui raised his arms to embrace her, ”Honey, about the past, I’m sorry. I... I couldn’t help it.”

”A bottle of sunscreen and you think you can fool me?” Xu Xia held onto the sunscreen and looked up to ask, ”Then what about the juice yesterday?”

”It was Luo Ke targeting Luo Xiaoqian. I tried to swap the juice and placed it there absentmindedly, who knew you’d be so quick to drink it?”

”Why didn’t you tell me?”

Also, knowing his identity, she naturally let her guard down. If she hadn’t known he was Leng Zirui, how could she have gotten so close to ROY?

Leng Zirui gently pinched her cheek, ”Lucky I was there, otherwise, what were you planning to do?”

”Isn’t it simple? There are plenty of men here.” Xu Xia retorted stubbornly.

”You cheeky girl.” Leng Zirui playfully nibbled her earlobe, ”Trying to get spanked?!”

”Dare you?” Xu Xia lifted her face.

”You think I won’t dare?” Leng Zirui hooked his arm, pulling her onto the bed, raised his palm and gave her a couple of light smacks on her little bottom, while muttering, ”See if I don’t deal with you for thinking about other men...”

Xu Xia, both embarrassed and angry, got up to counterattack, and the two rolled into a tussle.

In the end, she couldn’t match his strength and was pinned down by him.

”Honey, I’m really sorry.” Leng Zirui gently brushed the stray hair from her face with his fingers, ”I truly didn’t expect you to be here; you know, I...”

”No need to say more.” Xu Xia raised her hand to stop his lips, ”I understand!”

Knowing him not just for a day or two, she certainly knew what kind of person he was. He was always serious and responsible at work, especially this time, which also involved Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian.

Although Xu Xia harbored some small resentment, she wasn’t truly angry with him.

Leng Zirui raised his hand to hold her fingers, gently kissed them.

”When the mission is over, I’ll spend time with you as compensation.”

”Promise?”

”Promise!”

He nodded earnestly.

”Alright then...” Xu Xia pouted, putting the sunscreen back in his hand, ”For its sake, I’ll forgive you.”

She truly was just a paper tiger, always harsh with words but soft at heart, constantly saying she’d punish him, yet always forgiving him easily in the end.

To love someone is nothing more than that.

”Hail the queen!” Leng Zirui pecked her lips lightly, ”Alright, today we still need to figure out how to get Luo Xiaoqian out, let’s get up first.”
