After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2226: Chapter 2230: Isn’t That So

Every day, countless women try to get into his bed. Luo Ke is extremely confident about his face and body. He can’t believe that, at this moment, she would be completely unmoved?!

His fingers are cold, unlike Leng Zimo’s palms, which are always dry and warm. That kind of touch only stirs in her an instinctive aversion.

”I admit, you’re a very charming man, Luo Ke, but... I can’t get intimate with a stranger.” Luo Xiaoqian raised her hand to push his hand away. ”If you truly love me, you should respect my choice. When I fall in love with you again, my heart and body will naturally be yours.”

”When will that be?!” Luo Ke’s voice suddenly rose, ”A week, a month, a year... If you never fall in love with me, am I to wait a lifetime...”

Seeing the look of shock on Luo Xiaoqian’s face, Luo Ke hurried to lower his voice.

”Sissi, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way. I just... I just missed you so much. We used to be together every night, and this time has been too long...” He raised his hand to hold her shoulder, his fingers gently caressing her silky smooth skin, ”Sissi, I know you’re yearning too, aren’t you...”

While saying this, he moved his face close to her ear, his tongue ready to lick and kiss her earlobe and ear ridge.

Since she had finished the juice, at this moment, she should also be yearning for a man’s body. With just a little provocation from him, she would surely throw herself at him willingly.

”No!”

Luo Xiaoqian forcefully pushed him away. Luo Ke, completely unprepared, fell heavily onto the side of the bed. Seeing his displeased frown, Luo Xiaoqian’s hand had already reached under the pillow, ready to grab the scissors.

At that moment, the light above their heads flickered and suddenly went out.

The room immediately plunged into darkness.

Holding the scissors, Luo Xiaoqian seized the opportunity to jump off the bed and step aside.

”Don’t move.”

Luo Ke loudly warned her as he rushed to the window to take a look around.

All he could see was darkness, save for the faint moonlight and the distant bonfire by the lakeside. The power throughout the entire castle estate had been cut off.

”SHIT!” Realizing there was more to this than met the eye, Luo Ke cursed under his breath and turned back, looking concernedly in Luo Xiaoqian’s direction. ”I’ll go check the situation outside. Stay in the room, do not wander around, lock the door, and don’t open it for anyone except me.”

”Okay!”

Luo Xiaoqian also had no idea what had happened, but now that he intended to leave, at least that was good news for her.

She was actually quite grateful for the power outage incident.

Luo Ke hurriedly dashed out of the room, and Luo Xiaoqian immediately used the moonlight to lock the door firmly, retreating to a corner of the house where she slowly crouched down, warily gripping the scissors in her hand.

Luo Ke carefully rushed down the stairs, and several bodyguards had already rushed in with flashlights.

”What’s going on?” he demanded angrily.

”The power’s out, we’re investigating the cause,” one of the subordinates replied.

”Two of you go upstairs to protect the lady, the rest search thoroughly,” Luo Ke ordered, snatching a flashlight from one of his subordinates. ”Activate the backup power immediately, hurry up!”

The group quickly sprang into action, some heading upstairs to protect Luo Xiaoqian, some rushing to the power distribution room, while the others scattered to investigate the sudden power outage.
