After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2244: Chapter 2248: They Were Always a Pair

They’d just eaten the food he made, and with ”a short mouth after eating,” the bodyguards all greeted him first when they saw him, not paying any attention to the fact that he was walking together with Luo Xiaoqian.

The two of them walked to the seaside, went a bit farther down the shore, and Leng Zimo lowered his voice.

”Tonight I’ll make dumplings for everyone and find a way to knock them out. Around dawn, Ah Jiu and the others will bring Mo Mo over to pick us up and get us out of here.”

”Mo Mo’s coming too?” Luo Xiaoqian was a little worried.

”It’s fine. I’ll take care of the bodyguards here, then cut the power. At that point, Luo Ke won’t be able to get in touch with this place anymore.”

Luo Xiaoqian tilted her face slightly toward him. ”Then what about Xu Xia, ROY... does that mean...”

”You don’t need to worry about that. She and ROY were a pair to begin with.” Leng Zimo said with a smile.

”Uh...” Luo Xiaoqian didn’t quite understand. ”You mean...?”

”I’ll explain it to you slowly after you’re back in Beijing.” Leng Zimo shrugged. ”This is a big deal. Even if I tell you now you won’t really get it. Anyway, Xu Xia will safely return to Beijing, I promise.”

Luo Xiaoqian nodded. When it came to Leng Zimo, she was in a state of absolute trust now.

”Then...” Luo Xiaoqian fidgeted, playing with a shell she’d picked up from the beach. ”Did you really propose to me in front of the whole world?”

Back then Xu Xia had only told her the gist of it, without any details, so Luo Xiaoqian was incredibly curious whether someone like Leng Zimo had really done something like that.

”Of course.” Leng Zimo’s lips curled. ”Once we’re back, I’ll find the video for you. Not just that—there are a lot of things, and I’ve got video evidence for all of them...”

When he got to this part, he couldn’t help thinking of what happened between them that first night they met, and a faintly suggestive look crept into his eyes.

”Like what?” Luo Xiaoqian asked curiously.

”Like... our first time...” Leng Zimo said softly.

Luo Xiaoqian’s face went scarlet in an instant, as if it were about to catch fire. ”Pervert!”

She didn’t believe him, assuming he was just deliberately teasing her.

Leng Zimo didn’t laugh. He only looked at her with gentle eyes. ”I’m serious.”

Luo Xiaoqian raised her brows, unable to figure out how there could be a video of something like that. He didn’t look like the kind of man with that sort of twisted hobby either!

”You’re the one who recorded it.” Leng Zimo laughed.

”Me?!” Luo Xiaoqian lifted a hand and pointed at her own nose, even less convinced.

Seeing her stare wide-eyed at him in that adorable way, Leng Zimo just burst out laughing. ”Because back then, you were the one who took the initiative to seduce me.”

”Nonsense.” She shot him a look, even more certain he was joking.

”Once you see the video, you’ll know I’m not joking.”

Luo Xiaoqian turned her face toward him, looking into his eyes. He was smiling, but there wasn’t any teasing in his gaze.

He didn’t look like he was joking.

”I really... took the initiative to seduce you?!”

”Don’t overthink it. It’s not what you’re imagining.” Leng Zimo glanced sideways around them, angled the umbrella to shield their bodies, then lifted his other hand to pinch her chin. ”That was the most surprising day of my life. From that day on... I fell in love with a woman. Xiao Qian, you’re a great gift heaven gave me. I’ve thought of that night countless times, and every single time I feel lucky that the person in that room... was me.”

Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t remember what had happened back then. She only looked into Leng Zimo’s eyes.
