After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2224: Chapter 2228: Brother, Be Careful

”Honey, you’re back?” Leng Zirui reached out to hook her waist, pulling her into his arms.

”Let go, I want to go see Xiao Qian.” Xu Xia stretched her arm to push him away, but ended up being held even tighter. ”Bastard, let me go...”

”She’s fine, you don’t need to worry.” Leng Zirui lifted her horizontally, walked into the guest room, and tossed her onto the big bed. ”Be good and wait here, I’ll go get you something to eat.”

Opening the door, he raised his hand to call Ah Ke, ”Watch her!”

Ah Ke walked in, and only then did Leng Zirui quickly head downstairs to the kitchen to rendezvous with Leng Zimo.

”Help me prepare some food!” he ordered loudly, then lowered his voice, ”I’ve already swapped the juice, but I’m worried Luo Ke still won’t give up. In a moment, I’ll watch over Xu Xia, you find a way to cut the castle’s power. Luo Ke is always very suspicious; if something suddenly happens, he’ll definitely search everywhere, and won’t have the mind to bother with Xiao Qian. Get through tonight and we’ll be fine.”

Leng Zimo took pre-made sandwiches and milk from the fridge and put them in the microwave to heat up, ”Okay.”

Leng Zirui raised his hand to grip his shoulder, ”Make sure he doesn’t find out. At this point, we absolutely can’t afford a single misstep.”

”I know.” Leng Zimo nodded solemnly, then placed the warmed sandwiches on a plate and handed it to him. ”Xu Xia’s stomach isn’t good, some bread and such will be easier to digest.”

”Thanks.” Leng Zirui took the plate and headed towards the door; before leaving, he looked back at him, ”Brother, be careful.”

Leng Zimo raised his chin in a nod, making an OK gesture.

Watching him leave, Leng Zimo also walked out of the kitchen, nodding a greeting to the guard by the door. He turned towards the lake, rounding a corner of the villa. Seeing no one was paying attention, he immediately quickened his pace, sneaking towards the workroom.

Upstairs.

Xu Xia glanced at Ah Ke, who was standing by the bed, still a bit worried about Luo Xiaoqian.

”I... I’m thirsty, could you get me a glass of water?”

”Miss Xu, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a bit. I can’t leave until ROY returns...” Out of the corner of his eye, Ah Ke noticed the juice Leng Zirui had left on the table and casually picked it up, handing it to her. ”Or perhaps you could have this to tide you over?”

Xu Xia originally wanted to send him away to take the opportunity to check on Luo Xiaoqian, but she didn’t expect there would be a glass of juice right here in the room.

Taking it in her hand, she reluctantly brought it to her lips, took a sip, found it tasted quite good, and decided to drink while thinking of her next move.

The door opened, and Leng Zirui walked in with a plate, nodding slightly to Ah Ke, who understood and left. He then placed the plate on the table.

”Then... drink a glass of hot milk and eat something...” He turned his face, looking at the juice cup in her hand, and his eyes widened, ”You... where did you get this juice?”

Tilting her head back to finish the last sip, Xu Xia looked at the cup in her hand.

”It was on the table; Ah Ke gave it to me.”

Leng Zirui turned to look at the small table in the distance, raising a hand to his forehead.

He had casually left it on the table, and it had coincidentally ended up being drunk by her?!

”This last bit tasted strange,” Xu Xia pursed her lips, placing the empty cup aside, and without hesitation grabbed a sandwich from the plate. ”Sissi, is she really okay?”

Leng Zirui frowned at the empty juice cup she had drank clean and suddenly lifted her horizontally, rushing into the bathroom.
