After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2243: Chapter 2247: Found the Right Person

He lifted his foot and stepped on the ground.

”Underground?” Leng Zimo asked.

”Smart!” Adam gave him a thumbs up.

Could it be that those important qualifications aren’t in the study?!

Leng Zimo pondered quietly, trying to extract more information from Adam. He casually asked Adam about his age, if he was married, and other such questions, quickly steering the conversation to how many years Adam had been on the island.

”I...” Adam thought for a moment, ”It’s been about five years, I came here originally as a supervisor.”

Leng Zimo felt increasingly fortunate upon hearing this.

If Adam was a supervisor, he must be very familiar with the place. It seemed he had indeed found the right person.

”So, you must be someone Mr. Luo Ke trusts.”

”Of course, I was with Mr. Luo Ke when he was young, once I even took a bullet for him!” Adam rolled up the sleeve of his black T-shirt and showed the scar on his back, ”Right here, if the aim was a bit off, I would’ve been done for.”

”You’re like a son of God, how could you die?” Leng Zimo laughed.

”Haha...” Adam laughed heartily, ”That’s exactly what Mr. Luo Ke said back then.”

”I really envy Mr. Luo Ke for having so much wealth,” Leng Zimo feigned admiration, ”As for me, at most, I just cook for others.”

”Well, everyone’s fate is different, but among chefs, you’re already quite well-off.” Adam patted his shoulder, ”Don’t worry, if you work with me in the future, I guarantee you can earn enough to buy a Chinese restaurant in a year.”

”Really?” Leng Zimo looked surprised.

”Of course, but...” Adam shrugged his scarred shoulder, ”You should know the risk is also high.”

”I don’t mind, as long as there’s money, I’d even kill,” Leng Zimo said.

”Good.” Adam handed over a beer, lightly clinking it against his, ”It’s settled then. When Mr. Luo Ke returns, I’ll figure out a way to introduce you.”

Leng Zimo chatted with him casually for a long while, their ”relationship” growing warmer. In the end, when Leng Zimo was about to leave, Adam seemed a bit reluctant, ”Everyone on this island is an idiot, you’re different, you’re smart. Stick with Mr. Luo Ke, you will achieve big things.”

”I’ll just follow you and catch some of the benefits.” Leng Zimo picked up the plates, ”What do you want to eat tonight?”

”Last time I went to China, I had Chinese dumplings, they were even better than ours. Can you make them?” Adam asked.

”Of course, I’ll make Chinese dumplings for you all tonight,” Leng Zimo said with a smile as he left.

When he returned to the villa, the bodyguards had already finished all the food and left. The maids were tidying up the table and looked apologetic when they saw him.

”I’m really sorry, Mr. L, all the food’s gone...”

”It’s alright, I ate at Adam’s,” Leng Zimo’s gaze landed on Luo Xiaoqian, who was intentionally staying to help, and he gave her a discreet signal.

Luo Xiaoqian understood immediately and stood up, ”Oh, I ate a bit too much at lunch, I’ll take a walk by the seaside.”

”I’ll go with you,” a maid said, putting aside her work.

Leng Zimo promptly spoke up, ”I’ll go with you. You all tidy the kitchen and prepare some beef filling, I’ll make Chinese dumplings for everyone tonight.”

”Madam, let Mr. L accompany you for a walk, okay?” The maid asked Luo Xiaoqian in English. Luo Xiaoqian of course did not refuse, and so the two walked towards the door one after the other. Seeing the sun was bright, Leng Zimo deliberately took a parasol from the hall to shield her from the scorching sunlight.
