After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2042: Chapter 2046: Don’t Go Messing with Other Handsome Guys

”Sister Xia, you didn’t mistake some handsome guy for our General Leng, did you?” Xiao Gao teased with a laugh.

Xu Xia rolled her eyes at her, ”What nonsense are you spouting?”

”Your face is all red, and you’re still denying it?” Lan Zi bluntly exposed her.

Xu Xia pouted, ”Can’t be bothered with you guys!”

”But speaking of which, our Master Rui has been way too low-key lately. How come he hasn’t even called?” Xiao Gao scrutinized Xu Xia, ”Sister Xia, did you bully him again?”

She bullied him?

Every time it’s clearly her being bullied by him, right?!

Xu Xia inwardly grumbled, but she spoke up to defend Leng Zirui, ”He’s been in a closed training session recently, can’t make calls.”

”No wonder,” Lan Zi looked at Xu Xia sympathetically, ”People like them are just like this, can’t be helped. It should be over soon; just hang in there.”

”What’s with that look? Making me out to be some sort of long-suffering wife!” Xu Xia caught the sympathy in her eyes and rolled her eyes, ”Let me tell you, I’m really enjoying this free time. That guy better train for a long time.”

Lan Zi chuckled softly, ”Stubborn as a mule!”

Xu Xia shrugged, ”Believe it or not, I’m going out tomorrow to find a handsome guy for a fling.”

”You better not go messing around with other handsome guys. If Master Rui finds out, won’t he be pissed?” Xiao Gao laughed.

Everyone in the elevator laughed, including Xiao Jie and the two bodyguards.

Xu Xia frowned, ”Fine, fine, you’ve all been bought by him. I can’t win against you. Tomorrow I’ll have that fling to show you!”

Lifting her face, she only focused her gaze on the changing floors, but all she saw in front of her was Leng Zirui’s face, a slight mischievous smile on his thin lips.

Big jerk, you’re laughing at me too, aren’t you?!

She cursed inwardly, but longing grew wildly like weeds in her heart.

Xu Xia didn’t know that while she was riding the elevator upstairs, Leng Zirui had already climbed to the second floor via the emergency stairs and arrived in front of the elevator.

Leaning lazily against the wall opposite the elevator, he also lifted his face, watching the flashing changes of floors on the elevator.

His fingers reached into his pocket, lightly caressing that bottle of sunscreen.

All these days, the sunscreen had never left him, absorbing his body heat. The smooth bottle felt like the touch of her skin in his memory, tightening his breath, drying his throat.

Having gone on countless missions, Leng Zirui had never been distracted by personal matters.

But thinking of her being so close, he missed her even more.

Having tasted sweetness, the memory of being close to her that night involuntarily replayed in his mind; he...longed for her so much.

The elevator paused for a while on the 16th floor, then started descending.

”16th floor?”

Leng Zirui secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, she wasn’t on the same floor as him.

Straightening up, he suppressed the urge to rush to the 16th floor, pull her into his arms, and stepped into the other opened elevator. His finger brushed past the floor numbers, paused for a second on the 16th floor, then quickly moved away and pressed the number for the 19th floor where he was.

The elevator ascended slowly, and as it reached the 16th floor, it suddenly stopped, making Leng Zirui instantly tense to the extreme.

Can’t be such a coincidence, the girl just got to the floor and wants to run out?!

He hurriedly turned his face away, standing with his back to the elevator door.
