After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2020: Chapter 2024: Is It Enough?

He thought Leng Zirui was in a bad mood because of Roselia’s death, so Ah Ke dared not say more and immediately left ROY’s room.

As he listened to Ah Ke leaving his room, Leng Zirui instantly dropped the dejected look on his face, walked briskly into the bathroom, and dialed the phone number given by the black police chief Qiao who was in charge of this undercover operation.

”Qiao, this is ROY!”

”Glad to receive your call.”

”There’s been a change in situation, Luo Ke is not dead.”

”We have already received the information.”

”Not just that,” Leng Zirui leaned against the sink, ”another person is involved. He’s called Lei Wenting, how much do you know about him?”

”Known as Tiger Lei, Lei Wenting, he’s an Asian, quite a capable figure in Italy as well, what’s he up to?” Qiao asked on the other end of the line.

”He wants to use me to take over Luo Ke’s business and he also mentioned the matter of Russian energy. I speculate that he also wants to meddle in espionage affairs, it’s very likely that those incidents we couldn’t confirm were done by Cobra actually are his work,” Leng Zirui slightly frowned, ”I’ve thought it over, and perhaps this is an opportunity for us, I can exploit the conflict between these two organizations to capture them all in one go.”

”Do you think it’s feasible?”

”Very feasible, Roselia is already dead, and Luo Ke now relies heavily on me.”

”This matter, I must report to the higher-ups to make a decision, it may take some time.”

Leng Zirui glanced at his watch, ”Is an hour enough?”

”I’ll do my best!”

”Alright, I’ll call you again in an hour and a half.”

Leng Zirui hung up the phone and walked out of the bathroom.

As he called Qiao, in the opposite room as expected, Ah Ke had already dialed Lei Wenting’s number to inform him about Leng Zirui’s return.

As Leng Zirui anticipated, Ah Ke had already been bribed by Lei Wenting and was now working for him.

”Mr. Lei, it’s me.”

”Has ROY decided?” Immediately Lei Wenting’s voice came through the phone.

”No, but, there’s big news.”

”What big news?”

”Roselia is dead.”

On the other end of the line, Lei Wenting also took a sharp breath. In such a short time, another of Luo Ke’s last two men died?

With secret delight in his heart, Lei Wenting immediately asked, ”What happened?”

”I don’t know the details either...” Ah Ke smiled, ”However, this event is good for us. Roy and Roselia always had a deep relationship, and perhaps his previous refusal to agree with you was due to Roselia; now that Roselia is dead, I think this might influence his decision.”

”Very well, keep in touch with any updates,” Lei Wenting said, laughing as he hung up the call.

Hearing a knock, Ah Ke hurriedly opened the door and stepped out, ”ROY?”

”Let’s find a Chinese restaurant to eat!” Leng Zirui headed towards the elevator, ”I need to find a suitable Chinese chef for Luo Ke.”

”Shall I call Mr. Lei?” Ah Ke suggested, ”He’s Asian and runs Chinese restaurants, surely he can help with this.”

Leng Zirui paused, slightly frowned, and looked at Ah Ke, ”Are you sure you want to call Mr. Lei?”
