After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2021: Chapter 2025: Traitor

Ah Ke realized he misspoke and hurriedly explained, ”Of course not, it’s just a suggestion.”

Raising his finger, Leng Zirui lightly poked his chest, ”Ah Ke, I’ve always admired your wisdom. You need to understand that a good lawyer would never please their clients; the best clients coming to you will yield the greatest benefits, do you understand?!”

”I... I don’t quite understand.”

Ah Ke looked nervously at Leng Zirui before him, a chill rising on his back. Had he discovered the deal between him and Lei Wenting?!

”Just remember that I’m your best client.” Leng Zirui smiled enigmatically as he turned and walked into the elevator.

Ah Ke followed him into the elevator, pressed the floor button, and secretly watched Leng Zirui leaning against the elevator wall with the corner of his eye, suddenly realizing this man seemed different.

Previously, Roy was also smart and ruthless, but most of the time he would follow Ah Ke’s advice.

But now, Roy no longer seemed under his control, becoming more assertive and even more enigmatic.

”Ah Ke, if you had to choose, would you rather be a King or a Great General?”

”Of course, a King.” Ah Ke replied.

”Exactly, no one likes to be a General, and neither do I.” Leng Zirui smirked, ”So, I want to be the King!”

”Do you mean...” Ah Ke leaned closer, ”you want to... control Cobra?”

”Exactly!” Leng Zirui glanced sideways at him, ”And you, do you want to be Lei Wenting’s dog, or do you want to be my Prime Minister?!”

Ah Ke’s cold sweat instantly soaked his shirt.

Indeed, had he already figured it out?!

”Roy, I... I’m not betraying you, I just...” he began to explain.

”I know, because we were always in the United States, there wasn’t much profit, so you were short on money. It’s okay, now that Roselia is dead, as soon as I get rid of Luo Ke, everything that belonged to her will be yours.” Leng Zirui raised his palm and lightly patted his shoulder, ”I think now you should be very clear who your best client is, right?”

Although Lei Wenting offered him generous terms, compared to the assets under Roselia, those were just a drop in the bucket. Ah Ke previously agreed to help Lei Wenting recruit Roy partly for the money, and partly for Roy’s sake.

In his view, Roy was more suited to be the King; what he did wasn’t really a betrayal but a way to find an opportunity to spur Roy to the throne, replacing Luo Ke.

However, Ah Ke didn’t know that Lei Wenting didn’t truly intend for Roy to be King.

”Roy!” Ah Ke straightened up, ”If you’ve truly made up your mind, I’m willing to help you, as for Lei Wenting, let him die.”

”No, Ah Ke!” Leng Zirui cunningly lift his lips, ”China has a saying ’borrow a knife to kill’, this time, let’s borrow Lei Wenting’s knife.”

”Borrow a knife to kill?” Ah Ke repeated the idiom he said in Chinese with some difficulty, ”What does it mean?”

”Very simple, we can use Lei Wenting to fight against Luo Ke, wait until they’re fighting tooth and nail like Tigers, both severely weakened...” Leng Zirui formed his hand into a gun, mimicking shooting, ”then we’ll take them out simultaneously!”

Ah Ke betrayed Roy for money, so he’ll use more money as bait to get Ah Ke to work for him again.
