I Am Your Natural Enemy

This is also why the Scorching Sun Department and the higher-ups are very cautious about disclosing certain information.

The General Director was reviewing documents and pondering over matters when the secretary knocked on the door and entered.

”General Director, seven members of the Nanyang Union have sent invitations, wanting to communicate with the Scorching Sun Department.

The capital of the Nanyang Union has also sent representatives for discussions, saying that one of their ministers, along with the heads of three other departments, wishes to visit the Divine Land.

They specifically noted their desire for some friendly exchanges with the Scorching Sun Department, and especially want to meet the General Director.

Over in Europa, people from the Church also wish to visit the Divine Land... hmm, they said they want to pay homage to the three scriptures of the Second Son of God.”

Hearing this, the General Director looked up at the secretary.

The Chief Secretary immediately added a note.

”That’s their original statement.”

Even the General Director couldn’t quite keep his composure.

Although Old Hong indeed received recognition back then, and opponents couldn’t counter his exegesis, the outcome involved multiple, complex reasons, entangling many interests and considerations.

This matter is tacitly never mentioned by various sects, and naturally, the Divine Land wouldn’t bring it up either. Originally, there was no intention of engaging with them; it’s fortunate it wasn’t outright banned.

No matter how coldly they treated it, according to their own legal principles, there’s nothing wrong with this matter. The hardest part to bear is that there is a complete record of it.

In the years of The Last Dharma, naturally, there were no issues, but with the onset of the Spiritual Qi Resurgence, the situation carries more risks.

In the early days, many sects intended to proselytize aggressively in the Divine Land, spending lavishly—distributing eggs and grain weekly—prompting many elderly women in the neighborhood to become active.

But after the Spiritual Qi Resurgence, they stopped distributing eggs.

The Scorching Sun Department initially did not understand, but later discovered a reason no one had anticipated.

They feared that once sects in the Divine Land gained momentum, Old Hong might be brought up again, leveraging doctrinal legitimacy for a strong claim, potentially driving them back.

They, of course, were not afraid of the Three Mountains and Five Ridges, as those people couldn’t invade their territory and shatter their beliefs.

However, if the beliefs were of the same deity, the nature would be entirely different, as it might actually shatter them.

Especially after the Spiritual Qi Resurgence, as progress accelerated, what was once a negligible low-probability event now became quite possible.

Simply put, initiate a so-called miracle.

The General Director truly hadn’t expected, after all these years, for something he would normally never recall to be first mentioned by a sect over there.

He rubbed his head and pondered with his eyes closed.

He understood that different ways of thinking lead to entirely different thought patterns.

He was contemplating what those people were thinking, what sort of thought process led them to such a bizarre place.

After much deliberation.

”Tell them, we’re busy lately, there’s too much happening here, and the Nanyang Union next door to the Divine Land poses a significant risk; better for them not to come.

Oh well, just send them a polite refusal according to the template.”

Even the Chief Secretary found it difficult to hold back; he prided himself on being experienced, but he had never encountered such occurrences as these past few days.

The General Director glanced at the phone and couldn’t help but sigh, because Wen Yan and those Lost Souls disappeared again, triggering a slew of issues, leaving many people on edge.

And there are very few who know of Wen Yan’s participation in this matter, now even more so that it cannot be revealed.

The General Director had no intention of benevolently telling anyone that those Lost Souls, once gone, shouldn’t reappear suddenly from a thousand miles away.

It’s good for some people to have a bit of fear in them, and it’s beneficial to have some respect and awe.

In today’s age, losing a sense of awe could lead to one’s demise even faster, with even greater likelihood of causing tremendous havoc.

Even the General Director, well-acquainted with handling matters, found himself uncontrollably enraged upon seeing what Wen Yan had sent back, irrespective of his position—purely from a human instinct.

The General Director picked up the phone to call the Old Celestial Master.

”Old Celestial Master, there’s something, those lost souls have disappeared again...” The General Director explained briefly.

”Wen Yan has gone home, why not just ask him directly?”

”Let him rest for a while; he’s done the best he possibly can, beyond perfection.”

The Old Celestial Master chuckled and said.

”Why complicate things? Wen Yan surely didn’t do it to scare everyone; given his nature... perhaps, it was merely to transcend those poor lost souls.”

”Uh...” The General Director paused slightly, nodded: ”That’s true, then it’s nothing.”

At Cloud Sea Cliff, the Old Celestial Master hung up the phone and shook his head.

”This little guy, what extent has he reached now? The path he’s walking is becoming somewhat unfathomable.”

Meanwhile, in Virtue City, Wen Yan reached the basement, opened the cell, only to find that The Rich was no longer there; those core members relying on that system, without their last protection, had vanished into thin air.

He lit incense for a few big shots in the basement, bowed before heading next door.

The foolish son was quite helpful this time, should at least take a look; after all, he can’t be on a business trip every day without being seen, and also check to see if the foolish son overate without knowing hunger from fullness.
