I Am Your Natural Enemy

The Shopkeeper understood that he was doomed.

When all his chips, or threats, no longer mattered to the other party, he lost all value for existence.

Yet he didn’t want to return to Nanyang; even if he had to die, he would choose his own way to die.

He reached out, touched his lower back, and as he was waiting for his opponent to launch an attack, one of his arms suddenly exploded.

The next moment, several specially made anesthetic needles pierced his back.

The next moment, illusions appeared before his eyes. He saw poisonous snakes, their black scales tinged with purple, coiling around his body, controlling him, binding him tightly, leaving him only able to move his eyes.

A black vehicle approaching from a distance stopped nearby, and several people stepped out, placing him into the car, expertly stopping his bleeding to prevent him from dying of blood loss.

The vehicle sped off to the airport, and a plane that had been waiting for a long time took off immediately, heading straight for the Nanyang Union.

Time ticked away, and the million lost souls still remained at the scene, taking turns to strike.

In the afternoon, a plane flew overhead, and a package dropped down. At a certain height, the package automatically opened a small parachute, bringing it to the misty ground.

Wen Yan’s phone also received a message notifying him of an arriving package and advised him to collect it.

Wen Yan walked forward, removed the parachute, and upon seeing the familiar yellow tape wrapped tightly like a parcel, he knew who had sent it.

Upon opening, he found a dozen heavy small boxes, seemingly made of lead.

Then Wen Yan’s phone synchronously displayed a message explaining that these were thirteen Qin Banliang coins from the first batch issued after the unification of the six states, suggesting he keep them just in case.

Wen Yan didn’t open the small lead boxes and stored them in his bag.

By the afternoon, lost souls came to inform Wen Yan that they sensed several people marked by hatred appearing in the nearby town.

But clearly, these lost souls were too busy dealing with the mastermind to pay attention to minor nuisances.

He understood that this was related to the message he received earlier this morning, indicating that the escapees had been delivered to them.

Professionals had communicated to decision-makers that without avenging themselves, the lost souls would not dissipate.

As the sun was about to set, a plane flying in from the ocean rapidly approached the location of the lost souls.

The plane lowered its altitude and speed, and after opening the cabin door, the man in the suit gestured a salute to the Shopkeeper, who was wearing an oxygen mask.

”After you descend into hell, please give my regards to the Demon King.”

After saying this, the man in the suit kicked the Shopkeeper out of the cabin.

The man in the suit closed the cabin door, checked the time, and exhaled in relief.

”Luckily, we made it in time. Let’s head back.”

The plane changed direction and quickly flew away.

The Shopkeeper, experiencing free fall, flew toward the large mist below, following the laws of inertia.

From high in the sky, he saw the mist shifting shape, seemingly forming a fierce ghostly face that opened a wide mouth and roared angrily at him.

Indeed, the pawnbroker was behind it all, but the pawnbroker, as the boss, never got involved directly; he just gave orders.

The one who orchestrated and managed these events—and fled prematurely—was the Shopkeeper.

Many didn’t want to provoke the lost souls, which seemed shattered and could infinitely restore themselves, nor did they want the Shopkeeper, who had drawn so much hatred, to lead the lost souls to them. Thus, sending the Shopkeeper over quickly to let these lost souls complete their revenge and dissipate was the solution.

Without a parachute, in free fall, the moment he plunged into the mist, countless lost souls welcomed him.

The lost souls had no intention of letting him die from the fall, nor did they care why he was thrown from the sky.

The Shopkeeper’s speed slowed more and more, until he landed smoothly on the ground.

In the mist, countless lost souls parted to the sides.

Wen Yan walked through the fog and saw the young and extremely energetic Shopkeeper.

”Former Shopkeeper.”

”He possessed incredible business talent, a ruthless yet restrained heart, decisive in his decisions.

When the pawnbroker didn’t show up, he was the real helmsman of the pawnshop.

He orchestrated multiple tragedies, turning them into a repeatable assembly line.

As the Shopkeeper, he had access to nearly all of the pawnshop’s resources and power.

However, just before the end times, he could decisively abandon these powers, privileges, and resources.”

”Fortunately, he was just the Shopkeeper, not the pawnbroker, or else the pawnshop’s ultimate evolution might have had a chance to complete.

Even though he was now a slightly stronger ordinary person, he’s still worth a warning.”

”Temporary Ability: None.”

Wen Yan glanced at the Shopkeeper, whose overwhelming vitality and strikingly youthful appearance made it clear why he was so young at first glance.

”Wait, I know many things.”

Wen Yan waved his hand, signaling the lost souls to carry on, and turned away, unwilling to hear another word.

Screams pierced the air, starting one after another, and soon the Shopkeeper was torn apart, his soul pulled out and shredded bit by bit by the furious lost souls.

Meanwhile, the pawnbroker, who had been dead but not dying for an entire day, heard the screams. His consciousness, which had begun to blur, sharpened somewhat as he recognized the sound—it was his dear Shopkeeper.
