I Am Your Natural Enemy

The stele Wen Yan was leaning on disappeared, and he fell backward, waking up instantly.

After waking, the sky was bright, but there were still large groups of lost souls around. Even though the Yang Energy increased in the daytime, it didn’t have much effect.

The rhythmically fluctuating wailing sound had grown weaker.

Wen Yan didn’t look at it. He yawned, sat up, and glanced back at the ground where only an imprint was left; the stele had vanished.

Yet Wen Yan inexplicably felt that the blessing from the Enforcer Profession had nearly doubled compared to before.

He asked some of the conscious lost souls nearby, and after hearing about the recent events, he reached out to touch the imprint left on the ground behind him.

He remembered the place where he went to choose his profession, which also had many steles.

Each stele represented a profession, and now that the Enforcer’s stele had disappeared, could it have gone to that place too?

Feeling the current power, Wen Yan pondered if the Enforcer’s stele could be considered as having ascended?

He took out his phone; no one had called him, but someone had sent him a message. He also saw a record of the Black Box sending a message, saying it was tired and resting.

He checked the numerous messages on his phone, some from Feng Yao, and others directly pushed to him from the Scorching Sun Department’s app.

He gained a rough understanding of the current situation.

He wasn’t wrong; his boss had quite a few backup plans yesterday. The scroll torn apart by that guy yesterday was meant to call people.

And it wasn’t ordinary people being called. Unfortunately, it was useless, as Wen Yan had people behind him too.

And as for the missiles that didn’t fall, it was Aunt Gan who intervened. Aunt Gan dismantled a supersonic missile in mid-air and accidentally dropped it near the Southern Sea Fleet.

At a military base of the Nanyang Union, intense conflict erupted. This is a euphemistic term.

A more accurate term would be mutiny or riot.

Then an insider there launched three missiles, but only one was successfully launched.

After the first launch, the second and third were forcibly halted remotely by people across the ocean upon receiving an alert.

This was because these missiles were purchased by a member of the Nanyang Union from across the ocean...

Though it’s not the first time their missiles didn’t follow the buyer’s commands, this time everyone tacitly avoided mentioning it.

The forced shutdown wasn’t really about the lost souls.

Because the Southern Sea Fleet was damn near there, right in the range of this ballistic missile, and last month, Divine Land was in a verbal battle with the missile’s buyer, having fun with water guns.

At this time, I hadn’t received any notifications or messages, then suddenly you launch three ballistic missiles; what are you thinking!

Besides the Southern Sea Fleet, do you have other targets that require launching three high-speed ballistic missiles at once?

Everyone knows the missiles I sell can’t be fully controlled by the buyers, but I can control them remotely.

You suddenly pulling this stunt, what does it mean? Trying to shift the blame to me? Trying to drag me into the water? To hell with you.

Consequently, they just according to protocols, without confirmation, shut off the remaining two ballistic missiles.

As for the one that had already launched, there was no option, as to prevent interference, once launched, it couldn’t be stopped.

Before dawn today, someone already went to find people from Divine Land privately explaining that the crazy move by the Nanyang Union is truly their doing, unrelated to others, including me.

The people in Divine Land negotiated by the book, rationally believing the other side hadn’t gone mad enough to directly aim high-speed ballistic missiles at the Southern Sea Fleet.

Even if it was aimed at the Southern Sea Fleet, the missile wouldn’t actually be of much use, as its trajectory had been accurately predicted in real-time, allowing for communication delay consideration, guiding Gan Tang to hit the missile mid-air.

Without seeing the missile’s tail flame and still accelerating, normal methods could intercept it.

The people in Divine Land felt rational enough in considering the other side might truly be insane, continuing negotiations.

But this matter was no concern to Wen Yan.

Wen Yan looked at reactions from all sides and some messages; some of the loose ends in Europa had already been caught and sent back to the Nanyang Union, and they were already on their way.

Meanwhile, the lost souls stayed here, remaining even in the daytime, not dispersing or leaving, which even made people across the ocean a bit creeped out as they followed up on such actions.

With terrifying efficiency, they caught some left behind, and regardless of involvement, they were sent back to Nanyang first.

Yes, it was referred to as shipping back, not extraditing, very particular.

Seeing all this information, Wen Yan was in no hurry, deciding to wait a bit longer.

He first returned a call to Grand Uncle Master.

”Grand Uncle Master, I’m fine, just a bit tired from the fight, taking a break.

Oh, the screams? It’s nothing, these many lost souls here, a bit of wailing is normal.

I appreciate your concern; you mustn’t have slept all night?

Please get some rest. Once everything is settled, I’ll come back to the mountain, and we can talk slowly.

Help me thank Aunt Gan.
