Daddy Always Gets Jealous

He returned to the living room and looked towards Mrs. Rong. Clearly, the master had asked Mrs. Rong to take care of Miss Cheng!

Mrs. Rong asked Uncle Lu what had happened.

Uncle Lu mentioned it briefly, careful not to spill what shouldn’t be spilled, ”Sir has instructed us to take good care of the young master and Miss Cheng.”

It was with just this sentence that Mrs. Rong felt a shock in her heart—Miss Cheng really was a fortunate woman, not only doted upon by the young master but even Sir treated her quite differently!

Uncle Lu stood up, ”I’ll go and see the doctor first.”

Mrs. Rong responded with a sound, prepared a cup of hot water, and brought it into the sickroom, ”Miss Cheng, drinking more water will help you feel better.”

Che Huan nodded, ”Mrs. Rong, thank you.”

Mrs. Rong took another look at Che Huan and conscientiously left the sickroom.

The little guy glanced at Mrs. Rong, quite satisfied, pretty clever.

He turned back towards Che Huan and kept patting her forehead with his little hand, ”Huanhuan, why are you still so hot?”

Che Huan looked at the little guy, feeling an indescribable emotion in her heart, smiled, and said with a faint voice, ”I’m alright, already feeling much better.”

The little fellow pouted, ”You say you’re alright, but just now the doctor measured your temperature, it still hasn’t dropped below forty degrees! Look at your lips, they’re dry and cracked, and your complexion is very poor!”

No sooner had the words fallen than a gentle knock came from the door.

The little guy hopped off the bed, opened the door, and saw Mrs. Rong bringing in a meal, then stood quietly to one side.

Mrs. Rong smiled, ”Young Master, Miss Cheng, please have your dinner.”

The little fellow ”hmmed” in response, ”Huanhuan, you lie down and don’t move, I’ll feed you!”

Che Huan struggled to sit up, ”I can do it myself.”

The little guy wouldn’t budge and insisted on feeding her.

Che Huan lay there, watching the little guy. Not once had her mother ever taken care of her so carefully.

For the first time, someone cherished her so much, and it was a child at that!

The little guy looked at Che Huan, worried, ”Huanhuan, eat more.”

Che Huan smiled, patting the little guy’s plump round cheek.

Mrs. Rong watched from the side and suddenly felt the scene was very heartwarming, warm and fuzzy, and it stirred an unusual feeling within her...

If Sir liked Miss Cheng, having her become the young master’s mother didn’t seem like a bad idea!

Soon, she felt she was mistaken; after all, it was different from having one’s own mother. Women changed once they had their own children, and it was unlikely they could forever be so kind to the young master.

After dinner, the doctor not only administered an IV to Che Huan but also prescribed some oral medications.

Under the effects of the medicine, soon after taking it, Che Huan fell asleep.

The little guy sat by her side and watched, checking her temperature with the infrared thermometer every few minutes. Seeing that Che Huan’s temperature refused to drop, he grew anxious, his little face flushed with worry.

By eleven o’clock, Che Huan’s temperature had finally dropped to thirty-nine degrees, and the little guy let out a sigh of relief. Tired, he slumped against the head of the bed and quickly fell asleep.

Mrs. Rong didn’t dare to disturb the little guy.

The little guy usually had a big temper when sleeping, and woke up cranky—not to mention now!

Besides, given the young master’s usual stubbornness, it wasn’t likely he would go sleep in the adjacent rest area.

She fetched a blanket to cover the little guy, and couldn’t resist taking another look at the sleeping Che Huan—pale-faced, but her features were rare in their beauty, so pleasing that it made one comfortable; unlike Miss Gu, who, although pretty, had a beauty that seemed chiseled out, which made people somewhat uncomfortable.

Thinking of Miss Gu, Mrs. Rong shook her head. How could she even begin to compare Miss Gu with Miss Cheng!

After watching for a while, she tiptoed out of the sickroom, closed the door behind her, and just as she turned around saw Huo Jinnan, freezing in place, ”Sir—Sir.”
