Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Wen Hua asked softly, ”Did you go to the hospital?”

Che Huan nodded, ”I went to the clinic on the way back for treatment; the doctor said it won’t scar and the injury isn’t severe.”

Huanhuan has grown up, not a child anymore, so Wen Hua refrained from inspecting the wound, ”Be careful, avoid contact with water, and don’t eat spicy or irritating food so that the wound heals quickly.”

Che Huan responded with a ”mm” and sat there with a smile.

As long as uncle was safe and sound, she was at ease.

After a moment of contemplation, Wen Hua looked at Che Huan, ”You don’t know his name?”

Considering he was Gu Jizhou’s uncle, Che Huan firmly shook her head, ”I’ve only seen him once, don’t know his name.”

Wen Hua furrowed his brows. In Hong Kong, besides the Huo Family, who else held such sway?

As for the Huo Family, why would they help him!

Wen Hua scoffed heavily inside, looking at Che Huan kindly, ”Your aunt must have prepared dinner by now, let’s go out to eat.”

Che Huan acknowledged and stood up to leave the study.

Wen Nuan quickly pulled her to the dining table, ”What did my dad say?”

Che Huan looked at Wen Nuan with a smile, ”He just asked about that classmate of mine.”

Wen Nuan pursed her lips, ”Your classmate’s family seems quite formidable.”

Che Huan remained silent, thinking of Mr. Huo, unable to understand why he would help her. Since she couldn’t figure it out, she didn’t bother pondering it. Her uncle’s wellbeing was more important than anything else.

...

Wen Hua secluded himself in the study for a good while, only coming out when Wen Nuan knocked on the door.

After dinner, he looked at Che Huan, ”Stay with Nuannuan tonight; it’s a weekend tomorrow, and there’s no work, so stay here for two days.”

Che Huan responded with a ”mm,” watched TV for a while, and then went with Wen Nuan to the adjacent bedroom.

Bi Fu looked in the direction of the small bedroom, ”Old Wen, do you think Huanhuan really went to him?”

Wen Hua looked at Bi Fu, ”I’ve asked just now; she didn’t.”

Bi Fu felt relieved upon hearing that, ”That’s good. A mistake was made once, we can’t make it a second time. Huanhuan is innocent.”

Wen Hua nodded, ”You’ve been through a lot these past few days.”

Bi Fu smiled, ”As long as you’re all right, don’t talk about it being tough or not.”

——Yunqi Academy——

On Wednesday night, Gu Yunqing took Che Huan to meet a client. Before they went, he particularly took her to a mall and picked out a low-cut backless dress, ”Wear this one, and change into it now.”

No matter what, she was Gu Jizhou’s aunt; he wouldn’t let her do those dirty deeds, right?

However, the words Gu Yunqing had said about serving Mr. Huo well suddenly echoed in her ears.

Che Huan thought about how hard it was to find a job; she had been at the company for less than a year and decided to endure it.

She put on the dress picked out by Gu Yunqing and followed him to the clubhouse where they would meet the client.

When the client arrived, Gu Yunqing, with a beaming smile, turned to a greasy-looking middle-aged man, ”Che Huan, this is Mr. Ya Hai Yan, come and say hello.”

Che Huan stepped forward with a professional smile, ”I am Che Huan, please take good care of me, Mr. Yan.”

Ya Hai raised his head to look at Che Huan, his eyes wandering over her body inappropriately, ”Che Huan, nice name, and a very pretty girl. Please, take a seat.”

Gu Yunqing signaled for her to sit next to Ya Hai.

Though uncomfortable, Che Huan still sat down next to Ya Hai, remembering the orders from President Gu and handed over the contract to him, ”Mr. Yan, you’ve seen this contract before, haven’t you?”

Ya Hai eyed Che Huan and, looking in the direction of the waitstaff, snapped his fingers.

Soon, the waitstaff brought over a plate of steamed geoduck clams.

Gu Yunqing coughed lightly, excusing himself to go to the restroom.
