Daddy Always Gets Jealous

He may be small, but his words are big!

Che Huan, watching from the sidelines, wanted to laugh, but considering the little guy might care about his pride, he held it back.

Qiao Qiao really spoke too soon; contrary to what she said, the little fellow was quite endearing.

...

During a pause in the meal, Che Huan excused herself to use the restroom and went to settle the bill, handing her card to the cashier.

”Miss, I’m sorry, but there’s not enough balance on your card.”

Che Huan was stunned, and after glancing at the bill, she was flabbergasted. Just a few dishes and it was over five thousand yuan, more than her monthly salary, far exceeding her budget.

She only had the two thousand yuan she’d borrowed from Qiao Qiao in her account, which wasn’t even close to enough, even if she maxed out the card!

She clutched the bill awkwardly, at a loss about what to do, facing this situation for the first time.

Just then, Uncle Lu came over, ”Miss Che is being too formal.”

He looked at the waiter and passed over a card.

The cashier couldn’t help but take another glance at Uncle Lu, swiped the card, and with utmost respect handed it back, ”Sir, it’s taken care of.”

Che Huan stood to the side, her face slightly blushing, and followed Uncle Lu sheepishly back to the private room, feeling ashamed that a child had treated her to a meal today.

Back in the room, the little guy was on the phone.

Seeing Che Huan enter, the little guy’s previously tense face softened a bit and his voice grew fainter as he impolitely spoke up, ”Huo Jinnan said, you’re not my mom, so don’t randomly call me anymore.”

Gu Yunqing wanted to say more, but the little guy quickly hung up the phone, looked at Uncle Lu, and deliberately lowered his voice, ”Help me handle it.”

Uncle Lu took the phone, glanced at it, and aware that the young master disliked Miss Gu, he helped the little guy add Gu Yunqing’s phone number to the blacklist.

The little guy took his phone back and glanced at it, afraid that Gu Yunqing would harass him with a different number, he silently put it on silent mode and tossed it into his little backpack. He raised his head to look at Che Huan, ”Huanhuan, you’re back.”

Che Huan sat there, served the little fellow a bowl of soup, then looking at the overly expensive lunch, suddenly felt she couldn’t swallow. It was as if she were eating money, too extravagant!

The little guy watched from the side, pursed his lips, ”Huanhuan, don’t you like it?”

Che Huan gently shook her head, ”No, I’m full.”

The little guy glanced at Che Huan, ”Huanhuan, you eat so little, are you on a diet?”

Che Huan picked up her chopsticks and casually took another bite.

The little guy sipped his soup and said, ”My little auntie does that too, gets thin as a rail, not pretty at all. Huanhuan, you’re perfect the way you are.”

Che Huan’s face warmed slightly, he’s quite knowledgeable for his age!

...

After lunch, the little guy took Che Huan by the hand for a walk, then reluctantly returned to the apartment only after escorting her back. Sitting in the empty living room, he suddenly wanted to talk to someone and instinctively thought of his little uncle. Picking up the phone, he called, his voice mature beyond his years, ”Little Uncle, I think I’ve really fallen for a girl, the very, very in love kind.”

Huo Jinbei was dining when he heard the little guy’s words and sprayed his mouthful of food all over the table. Remembering that last time he hadn’t met anyone at the hospital and had been directly sent away from South Garden by the little guy, he pretended not to hear, ”Xiaowei, what did you say?”

The little guy huffed in dissatisfaction, ”I said I’ve fallen for a really nice girl!”

”Oh—” Huo Jinbei grabbed a napkin, wiped his mouth, and looking at the table he’d splattered, he smiled apologetically towards Huo Jinxue, who was glaring at him, and stood up, ”Kid, you know how to charm a lady now?”

The little guy stressed his words with displeasure, ”I’m serious! Not like you!”
