Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Hearing Qiao Qiao say that, Che Huan relaxed a bit, ”All right then.”

After hanging up the phone, she caressed the tuan zhang’s head and asked softly, ”Tomorrow, would you be okay staying at home? The hospital is full of sick people who might be scared when they see you.”

The tuan zhang seemed to understand and snorted discontentedly.

Trying to pet it on its head, Che Huan found this creature to be quite dumb and cute despite its fierce appearance, and very likable, ”I know you’re not fierce, but the patients might be scared.”

The tuan zhang closed its eyes and nestled in without moving, shaking its tail in dissatisfaction as if to say: Hmph, you just think others look fierce!

In the end, she still couldn’t persuade the tuan zhang to change its mind.

On Monday, Che Huan got out of bed quietly, seeing the tuan zhang deeply asleep on the bed, she dressed gently and went to wash up.

After freshening up and gathering her things, she went out, quickly locked the door, and finally breathed a sigh of relief as she turned to head toward the elevator.

She hadn’t pressed the elevator button when the doors opened, and just as she was about to enter, she saw the tuan zhang squatting inside, looking smug, and was momentarily stunned.

The tuan zhang squatted there arrogantly, acting as if it didn’t recognize Che Huan, ignoring her.

Che Huan entered the elevator awkwardly, pressed the button for the first floor, and looked down at it, ”Hi, tuan zhang, good morning.”

The tuan zhang turned its butt towards Che Huan, ignoring her.

Reaching the first floor and seeing Che Huan not greeting it and just leaving the elevator, it briskly followed her out.

When Che Huan heard movement behind her, knowing she couldn’t take the bus in fear the driver wouldn’t allow it aboard, she waved down a taxi.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the guard immediately blocked her way.

Knowing this was the First Hospital and the management was strict, Che Huan mentioned Qiao Qiao’s name, and surprisingly, she had a smooth passage through. Even more surprising was being driven directly to the entrance of the inpatient department by an on-duty vehicle.

The attitude of the duty nurse was exceptionally good, personally escorting her to the front of the nurse station, ”Miss Che, the head nurse will come over in a moment, please wait here for a while.”

This was the first time she experienced such treatment! She hadn’t expected Qiaoqiao to be so popular at the hospital, just don’t call her any kind of Miss Rich Girl.

She changed into the nurse’s uniform Qiaoqiao had left there at the nurse station and sat waiting. The head nurse didn’t come, but another nurse came in.

Seeing Che Huan, the nurse gave her a glance, ”New intern? Follow me.”

Remembering she was supposed to cover Qiaoqiao’s shift, Che Huan stood up and followed.

The tuan zhang followed Che Huan as well.

The nurse glanced back and scolded sharply, ”How can you bring pets to work?”

Che Huan turned back to look at the tuan zhang and quickly led it back to the nurse station, petting its smooth fur, ”Stay here and behave, don’t run around, and don’t make any noise.”

The tuan zhang remained noncommittal, and seeing that Che Huan had left, it followed after her again.

Che Huan was at wit’s end.

The nurse, growing annoyed, pointed at a cart in the hallway, ”Fine, just push that cart and go give the small patient inside an injection. I’ll look after your dog for you.”

Che Huan responded and, as she pushed the cart into the ward, she heard the sound of a child throwing a tantrum, ”Get out, all of you get out!”

The nurse kept her distance, standing aside, feeling helpless.

On the sickbed, a little boy with a round face sat with a stiff expression, coughing terribly, his cheeks flushed and teary-eyed from crying, pouting unhappily.

On the floor lay IV stands and IV bottles scattered in disarray, with broken infusion bottles...
