Daddy Always Gets Jealous

After observing for a while, he voiced carefully, ”Nurse Huanhuan is a very good person, and also very professional. She found the vein and inserted the needle for the IV quickly, and it didn’t hurt at all. She’s very enthusiastic with patients. Nurses as good as her are rare nowadays, I really like her.”

Huo Jinnan glanced sideways, his deep and cool eyes resting on the little guy.

The little guy, feeling guilty, pursed his lips slightly, ”Don’t you think so?”

Huo Jinnan remained silent.

The little guy, being very sensible, shut his mouth and said no more.

Huo Jinnan swept a glance at him, catching his expression, and stealthily glanced at Huo Bei.

Huo Bei understood and stepped aside to ask Uncle Lu.

Uncle Lu told the truth.

Huo Bei returned to the living room to see that the master had already gone upstairs, so he followed him to the study, ”Sir, the young master seems to really like Miss Cheng. He brought her home yesterday, skipped class to invite her for lunch today, and he’s even planning to ask Miss Cheng to watch a romance movie tonight.”

At that, Huo Jinnan looked up at Huo Bei, lit a cigarette, took a puff, then looked out the window at the dark night, ”Has there been any movement from Gu Jizhou’s side?”

Huo Bei stood straight, ”Young Master Gu has been investigating Wen Hua’s matter and has not traced it back to you, Sir.”

Huo Jinnan turned back and flicked off the cigarette ash, ”Is Ya Hai’s matter settled?”

Huo Bei, ”It’s settled.”

Seeing the master furrow his brows in displeasure, Huo Bei asked softly, ”What about Young Master Gu’s side...?”

”No rush, we’ll take it slow.”

Huo Jinnan crushed the cigarette in his hand into the ashtray and looked up at Huo Bei.

Although Huo Bei understood what the master meant, he was a bit concerned that Wen Hua’s case might complicate subsequent matters and hesitated slightly, ”It might be difficult to keep Wen Hua’s case from the old master in the end.”

Huo Jinnan’s voice suddenly turned cold, ”I have no intention to hide it.”

Huo Bei, somewhat puzzled, ”But, Sir...”

Huo Jinnan looked up at Huo Bei.

Huo Bei swallowed the rest of his words and remained silent.

Huo Jinnan opened his laptop, ”Alright, that’s it, you may go.”

Huo Bei left the study, closing the door behind him.

Huo Jinnan opened his email, skimmed through the inbox, clicked on an email, read it through, and his gaze grew colder.

A moment later, the aura around him subtly retracted.

He closed the laptop, lit a cigarette, stood tall, and, looking out into the night, dialed Qin Shaonan, ”Has Qin Shaojin returned yet?”

Upon hearing that he had, he uttered ”Hmm,” ”Have him call me back when he has time.”

Half an hour later, Qin Shaojin called back, ”Huo Brother.”

Huo Jinnan stood by the window smoking, ”I sent you an email, take a look at it, and call me back after you’ve read it.”

...

The next day, Huo Jinnan got up and went downstairs, only to see the little guy unexpectedly up very early, neatly dressed, standing at the entryway adjusting his bowtie.

Huo Jinnan rolled up his sleeve and looked at his wristwatch, ”It’s not time for school yet, why are you leaving so early?”

The little guy glanced over, not daring to lie, ”Huanhuan has taken care of me for several days, and you’ve been so busy, you haven’t had the time. Before going to school, I wanted to take a detour to deliver breakfast to express gratitude on your behalf.”

A detour?

On my behalf?

Huo Jinnan scanned the little guy.

Actually, it was not on the way at all! Huo Jinnan must know that!

The little guy guiltily looked away, ”To be grateful and show it is a virtue, I think that makes a lot of sense.”

Huo Jinnan huffed lightly.

The little guy’s face turned a bit red, ”Dad, see you.”

Huo Jinnan said nothing.

The little guy, seeing there was no objection, glanced at Uncle Lu and took the breakfast that Nurse Rong had prepared for him, quickly heading out.

Huo Jinnan stood there reflective.

Huo Bei looked at him, ”Sir.”
