Chapter 1231: Chapter 293 The Story of the Griffin Giant

In the era when Griffin embarked on adventures, it was still a time when classic magic was prevalent.

In that age, wizards learned a theorem—the mass is directly proportional to the energy; the greater the mass, the greater the energy. From this theorem, they questioned if greater energy could lead to greater mass.

In other words, the Giants possess immense strength; if one acquired such enormous power, could they become a Giant? Without doubt, immense power could definitely support an enormous body.

With this idea, Griffin, following the traditional method of wizards, set up a series of experimental plans.

The primary issue these plans needed to address was how to increase strength.

The method was simple, one word: eat.

So, the wizard, faced with extremis, began to eat voraciously. From eating a few handfuls of rice a day, to eating fifty, then hundreds, and eventually thousands of grains a day, until he was consuming an entire warehouse of giant’s food in one day.

His appetite grew increasingly larger, but his stature remained the same.

Until one day, when Griffin was walking on the streets of the Giant World, he realized that the once terrifying world had somehow turned into a loose, paper-like world.

With each step, his legs creased the space of the Giant World deeply. The cobblestones under his feet crumbled like dregs, and the ferocious faces of the giants somehow seemed comical now.

Griffin knew that his physical strength had reached its limit.

But he was still not a Giant.

At this moment, what troubled him was no longer how to survive in this dangerous world, but the challenging process a wizard faces when dealing with a very interesting experimental subject.

”I am just an ant with great strength, still meaningless in this Giant’s World.”

Thus, he once again began to ponder deeply, on how to transform his strength into stature.

Until one day, after seeing the huge pot used by a Giant to steam food, he had a sudden realization, ”It’s not my thinking, but my capacity that’s limited!”

He opened his eyes and walked out, murmuring as he went:

”I want to see the world through a Giant’s eyes, I want to smell the world through a Giant’s nose, I want to taste the world through a Giant’s mouth.”

”I want to hear the world through a Giant’s ears, I want to ponder the world with a Giant’s brain, I want to embrace the world with a Giant’s arms, I want to stride in Giant’s steps, measuring the world with Giant’s footprints.”

With each phrase he uttered, with each step he took, his size doubled.

By the end of this speech, Wizard Griffin had turned into a true Giant, standing a hundred meters tall.

He looked around, stunned for a moment, and finally burst out laughing: ”I always thought it was this Giant’s World that was restricting me, unable to live or die as I wished. However, I never realized that from the beginning, the one restricting me was myself.”

The story abruptly ends here.

The teacher, turning his head, glanced at the Young Wizard and asked, ”What have you learned from this story?”

Zheng Qing pondered for a moment, then tentatively said, ”As big as the heart is, so is the World?”

The teacher did not deny this, only simply commented, ”This world never lacks the ambitious, yet it remains so small.”

Zheng Qing switched his approach, mimicking the thought process of Zhang Ji Xin, the Wizard who most resembled a Griffin, and replied, ”Appetite and power are directly proportional, to become powerful, you need to learn how to eat.”

The teacher looked at the young wizard quite unexpectedly, then raised his hand and pressed on his head a couple of times.

”Not bad,” he said, a bit puzzled as he blinked his eyes, ”Your answer makes me think that explosion blew your brain away.”

How can a spirit have a brain? The young wizard touched the back of his head, grumbling internally, and finally gave up thinking, pouring out all the analysis he could think of:

”For a giant, ants are insignificant.”

”Quantitative change causes qualitative change, and for a wizard, accumulation is very important...”

”Only by learning to see issues through a giant’s eyes and think about the world with a giant’s mind can one truly become a giant...”

”This world is filled with giants, don’t let your own capacity make you into an ant.”

As the teacher listened, he kept nodding, but when it came to giving his final judgment, he just smacked his lips, ”The words are a bit rough yet make sense. However, there’s a strong flavor of soul-soothing soup in them. It makes one feel quite empty upon careful consideration.”

”I have always felt that the Jiuyou Academy’s method of teaching places too much emphasis on thinking. At any time, speculation and practice interact and are born from one another. Your ideas are not wrong, but they all overlook a key point.”

”To think is to act.”

”Just like Griffin wizards, if you want to escape difficulties, you need to become a giant; to become a giant, start eating, gathering strength, and adjusting your world and life views... The latter is very important in your long wizarding career.”

”The correct recognition of the world and life is what supports us in breaking all bonds, stepping out of illusion, and achieving ourselves.”

”And in this Land of Void, to get out, we need to find its ’Dao’ and follow the ’path’ out. Where is the path? It lies under our feet.”

Zheng Qing looked down and noticed that at some point, a winding path of glittering sand and pebbles had appeared beneath their feet, extending into the distance.

These grains of sand, the size of rice grains, shimmered with a translucent luster in this vast white world.

Zheng Qing always felt they looked familiar.

”These are...” He hesitated, wanting to bend down to pick up some sand but was stopped by the teacher from bending down.

”Correct, they are Sand Time Worm eggs,” the teacher confirmed in a gentle tone, ”But you need to be careful not to let them touch your skin casually, that would plunge you into a ’divine laziness’ similar to that of Satoguya... Did I hear these little things stirred up quite a commotion at the school last term?”

”They also brought us a good deal of jade coins,” Zheng Qing’s eyes sparkled as he looked at the Sand Time Worm eggs at his feet.

”You’re still young, you don’t need these things to extend your life,” the teacher could easily capture the thoughts flitting through the young man’s mind, ”A real wizard needs to learn ’restraint’, only be greedy when necessary. Seizing and giving are eternal topics between nature and wizards... Concepts related to time are very heavy concepts, carrying too heavy a burden will prevent you from leaving the Land of Void.”

”But don’t feel discouraged. Every wizard who has entered this Land of Void and successfully left, ’carries’ a bit of Sand Time Worms eggs on them—much like bees carry pollen after collecting nectar—very few know that the Sand Time Worms that have troubled the history of the Wizard World were first born in this Land of Void; and very few know that it was also wizards who brought these ’Pseudo-superdimensional creatures’ into the Wizard World.”
