Chapter 1227: Chapter 289 Growing Up

”Do you know what a Talisman is?”

”Traditional Wizards believe that ’Rune’ is the spirit of heaven and earth, while ’Talis’, are the titles of ghosts and gods. Drawing Talismans is the process of manipulating communications between heaven and earth with ghosts and gods... According to the modern Dimensionism theory, Talismans are the ’theorems’ derived by Wizards from the essence of the World.”

”The one thousand two hundred and ninety-six Basic Runes that have been deciphered construct every aspect of this World. Different combinations of Talismans can perfectly interpret all the truths and illusions of the World.”

”In a way, what we call curses can be completely understood as the skill of using Talismans, which are combinations of Talismans with fixed arrangements and structures. If Talismans are the basic physical formulas, then curses are convenient tools crafted based on these formulas. Each curse is a ’Seed’ condensed from Talismans. The moment a curse blooms, the ’Seed’ grows into a towering tree.”

”Forbidden Spells have just gone a bit further—they describe the fundamental principles of this World, this Universe. The ’tool’ it represents is the ’Will’ of this Universe.”

”My slight adjustment to the plan is based on this understanding.”

”Using a ’Seed’ to replace the foundation of that ’Skyscraper,’ allowing it to completely break free from an empty framework.”

”Every Talisman book you copied in the bookstore was carefully adjusted by me in terms of sequence. As you practiced sketching them, those Runes would reflect into the depths of your Soul and imprint onto the foundation of that skyscraper.”

”From the age of twelve to eighteen, over six years, hundreds of thousands of Runes resonated and interconnected with each other, eventually merging into one, forming a ’Seed’—this is the source of the Forbidden Spell inside you.”

Hearing this, Zheng Qing subconsciously touched his lower abdomen.

Although Mr.Wu explained it clearly, that the seed of the Forbidden Spell was at the deepest part of his Soul, he still had a strange feeling as if there was a seed in his stomach.

After sipping some tea, Mr.Wu continued to explain everything leisurely to the Young Wizard:

”...This is a unique Forbidden Spell.”

”Other Forbidden Spells are mature and complete from the day they are born. They are tightly structured, have complete frameworks, and bear vast arrays of information. But your Forbidden Spell is different; it’s still just a seed. Though it has all the elements needed for a Forbidden Spell, it lacks ’information.’”

”For example, whether ’Genesis’ or ’Dragon Han Disaster,’ they are like bombs filled with dynamite, just needing a lit fuse to explode. But this bomb, your bomb, doesn’t have a single grain of dynamite in it...”

”How did I explode without any dynamite?!” Zheng Qing immediately caught the anomaly in Mr.Wu’s explanation.

”That’s the wonder of creation,” Mr.Wu said admiringly, his face showing a hint of reverence. After pausing for a moment, he continued, ”’After the Forbidden Curse Seed formed, it needed watering and fertilizing to grow... That’s why I arranged for you to take the entrance exam for First University. I wanted you to absorb the nourishment from First University. Only with sufficient insight and experiences, and enough knowledge being poured in, can that seed grow healthily.”

”The exam went successfully, and according to the plan, you will enter First University at the end of August.”

”But changes always occur when least expected.”

”On your way home from the exam venue, it coincidentally happened that Little Fox from the Su Family advanced to a Big Wizard. A seed ready to sprout, encountering an energy breaking through confines, had an empathetic interaction with Little Fox’s breakthrough, and your seed quietly sprouted.”

Zheng Qing opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but eventually, he swallowed his question, looking like it was incredibly difficult for him to hold back. Mr. Wu immediately knew what the young wizard wanted to ask:

”Oh, of course, of course... The appearance of Poseidon was unexpected. You need to know, a witch experiences extreme excitement both physically and spiritually when breaking through constraints, inevitably secreting some... special substances... It’s rare, but indeed a matter worth celebrating.”

”Um, I keep forgetting to give Poseidon a gift... What color clothes do you think it likes?”

The young cost student’s mouth twitched, suppressing the urge to retort.

Mr. Wu’s fingers tapped a few times on the armrest of the chair, as if considering what gift to give Poseidon, and after a long pause, he continued, ”Sprouting means growing.”

”In other words, your belly, this bomb, finally saved up a few explosives.”

”But... The germination of the forbidden curse seed happened much earlier than planned, and due to an accident at that time, I was not by your side. Therefore, the ’seal’ meant to protect the seed was slightly insufficient.”

”This insufficiency—in external conditions, like a Fallen Wizard appearing on a special plane—made it easy for the Forbidden Spell Aura to leak from the seal.”

”I’ve said before, forbidden spells are a power that breaks the rules, a manifestation of the world’s origin. Any wizard who pursues ’truth’ or ’origin’ will crave that aura. The higher the talent of the wizard, the more sensitive they are to that aura, and the more they want to be close to you... or perhaps want to devour you.”

Suddenly, Zheng Qing’s mind was flooded with many eyes, either scarlet or bright yellow, and the puzzle that had troubled him for a long time suddenly became clear.

He finally understood why, on the entrance flight, the Female Demon Nikita said those words, understood what the wild demons chasing behind him in the newcomer race were after, understood the inexplicable words of Councilor Karen of the Moon Council, and why Satoguya had descended repeatedly.

He even finally understood why many friends liked to be close to him.

Strangely, he felt a bit sad.

”... Because of the aura leaking, your eyes occasionally turn red, there are conflicts between the spirit and the body, and you sometimes have headaches. But these are minor problems... Little Yao arranged for you to learn Transformation, although the starting points were not consistent, it was a good diversion of the internal conflicts, a solution stumbled upon by accident.”

”Until a second accident occurred.”

”Do you remember the big black cat that ran out from you?” Mr. Wu prompted.

Zheng Qing nodded: ”It was taken away by the relevant school authorities...”

”I know, that was my arrangement,” Mr. Wu interrupted Zheng Qing: ”That black cat is your shadow. The young girl from the Su Family borrowed your shadow for a two-dimensional evolution experiment. Although she didn’t know what was on you, clearly, because of Poseidon, she sensed something.”

”Everyone’s shadow is the doorway through which the soul touches reality.”

”Your shadow reflects your soul and naturally, it also harbors the presence deep within your soul. In other words, your shadow also contains the aura of the already sprouted forbidden spell.”
