Chapter 1209: Chapter 271 NIGGURATH

”Ya na kadishtu nilgh’ri,” (I knew nothing)

”stell’bsna Shub-Niggurath,” (I beseeched the Goddess of Dark Harvest)

”K’yarnak phlegethor,” (We shared our thoughts)

”l’ebumna syha’h n’ghft,” (In the Abyss’s eternity and darkness)

”Y’ai ’ng’ngah,” (I called Him)

”NIGGURATH!” (’The black mountain goat of the forest that breeds thousands of offspring)

”s’uhn-ngh athg li’hee orr’e syha’h,” (I signed this dark contract)

Korma, with disheveled hair, knelt before the arch at the center of the magic circle, holding that piece of ’jelly’ and muttering, softly chanting spells alien to the magical world of the present.

Slight magic fluctuations emerged from between her hands, rushed in all directions, then, hindered by the six pillars surrounding the magic circle and those clay panels, curled back and slammed into the ’jelly’ again.

This repeated.

A huge moon overhead burst forth dazzling light, from the secretive surrounding jungle came unsettling rustlings, as if a herd of goats was nibbling on grassroots or bark, occasionally mixed with pained moans that came from nowhere.

The magic fluctuations from the ’jelly’ grew stronger, and the feedback impacts increased, the six pillars creaked under the surging magic fluctuations, and fine cracks began to appear along the branch engravings on the clay panels.

The witch’s figure began to tremble and blur in the visible magic frenzy, yet, conversely, the voice of her chanting grew louder and clearer, until finally, even the black cat on the periphery of the entire magic ritual could hear it crystal clear:

”Y’ai ’ng’ngah,” (I called Him)

”NIGGURATH!” (’The black mountain goat of the forest that breeds thousands of offspring)

”s’uhn-ngh athg li’hee orr’e syha’h!” (I signed this dark contract!)

...

”NIGGURATH,” Jiang Yu whispered the word, a dawning realization on his face, ”I recognize this name... It’s a hidden existence in the deeps of the starry sky, possessing immense power, akin to ancient witches. When Xiao Meng became a Spirit Witch, she once tried to communicate with His Highness.”

The black cat tapped its left paw on the deep marks on the tree stump rings, then switched to its right paw, carefully glancing at the witch with a somewhat uneasy face.

It didn’t understand why the witch was telling it all these things.

Theoretically, she shouldn’t know him, and to reveal secrets so casually to a strange cat they met for the first time was not quite the style of Jiang Da Headmaster.

The horrible thought in the black cat’s mind grew stronger.

It desperately needed a fresh topic to turn this awkward situation around.

”Ahem,” the black cat coughed lightly, adding, ”I’ve previously observed their array diagrams and must admit that the modifications made to the magic ritual are quite clever. Normally, more than half of the summoners who attempt to summon beings from beyond the starry sky fall into delirium, and the other half run a high risk of losing themselves, becoming vessels for the descent of the outer gods.”

”To mitigate this risk, the diagram modified the timing of the ritual, eliminating the ’new moon’ requirement—though the Mountain Goat of the Forest symbolizes the earth, it commands the authority of the moon, and losing the new moon’s enhancement significantly reduces His power upon arrival.”

”To maintain the rationality of the ritual tracks, the diagram did not completely eradicate the concept of the Mountain Goat of the Forest, hence the site chosen for the ritual was this silent forest area.”

”Besides, the six pillars surrounding the magic circle, the Ancient Gublai Fairy Fire on the pillars, and the yellow clay slabs etched with the Old Seal on the outside of the pillars are all precautionary measures...”

”Yi Chou year, Wu Chen month, Ding Wei day.” Jiang Yu suddenly interrupted Black Cat’s endless chatter, speaking quietly.

Black Cat’s voice halted, ”What?”

It didn’t quite understand the Witch’s meaning.

The Witch wearing the Red Mask glanced sideways at Black Cat, ”Today is the eighth day of the lunar month, and the Old Almanac reads ’suitable for rituals; avoid all other activities.’”

Hearing ’avoid all other activities’ and connecting it to the date the Witch had mentioned earlier, Black Cat immediately realized.

”Oh, Chou and Wei clash, today is ’Tai Sui breaking’,” it had always been familiar with the Old Almanac, and now silently reckoned it in its heart, growing more impressed with Korma’s choice, ”To use Tai Sui to collide with the Outer God, probably no ordinary Wizard would dare to think this way.”

”Here it comes.” Jiang Yu spoke again to signal.

Black Cat, startled, followed the direction the Witch pointed, and saw that the magic ritual a short distance away had reached its most critical moment.

...

A gray-white mist flowed out from the arch, building up, slowly but resolutely forming a translucent projection.

This was the spirit body of Shub-Niggurath, Black Cat just had this thought flash through its mind before it immediately dismissed it. Although it had never seen what ’The black mountain goat of the forest that breeds thousands of offspring’ looked like, it definitely wasn’t the toad in front of the arch.

Moreover, the summoned giant toad merely glanced at the Black Cat on the edge of the magic circle, causing it to feel as if it had fallen into an ice cave, not only the fur on the back of its neck but also on the tip of its tail bristled.

From afar, faint screams from Korma could be heard.

Through the spreading thin mist, Black Cat barely saw Elena raise her arm, holding a slender silver knife, forcefully stabbing towards the neck of the shackled little Black Mountain Goat.

Bright red blood spurted from the neck of the little Black Mountain Goat, half drenching the Gypsy Witch, and the other half spraying into the air, bursting forth a fine layer of blood-colored mist.

Sunlight and moonlight alternated falling, as if coating that blood mist with a layer of rainbow halo.

Black Cat’s eyes widened.

Its vision was covered by a layer of shadow, and it felt as if the entire world had been slowed down—the distorted, slowed screams of Korma, the blood mist Elena had stabbed floating in mid-air, and Jiang Yu, clenching her teeth as she slowly pulled out a Charm Gun from her handbag, Black Cat could clearly see that her hand on the grip was turning exceptionally pale due to the lack of blood.

Behind the toad, the mist still flowed from the arch, though it had become much weaker.

And the newly flowing mist differed starkly from the gray-white mist constructing the toad; this mist carried a hint of moonlight yellow, yet also vaguely mixed with some black qi.

Black Cat had a realization—perhaps that newly flowing mist truly belonged to ’The Mountain Goat of the Forest’ Highness. As for the toad before it, it had made a very bad, very bad assessment.

Clearly, a magic circle was unable to accommodate the descent of two Outer Gods.

The toad that formed first extended its thick arm outward, scooping the shackled little Black Mountain Goat into its hand, then it pulled the unformed mist accumulating behind it, randomly stuffing it into the body of the little Black Mountain Goat, looking around left and right.

”Hey, hehehe.” It grinned revealing its black mouth, making a strange laughter, while casually tearing a huge hole in the void. There seemed to be a large golden net outside the hole, vigorously trembling, dimly bursting into golden sparks.

On the other end of the golden net was a quiet lake; faint shouts of ’Nicolas’ echoing from that side.

Without hesitation, the toad threw the little Black Mountain Goat over there.
