High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1214: Chapter 276: Out of Control and Losing God

As if responding to the words of the two Alpha students, several student and club leaders in charge of maintaining order began casting wary glances this way.

Nicholas was already uncontrollably enraged. His eyes turned blood-red, and a terrifying growl emerged from his throat; his palms twisted, sharp claws extended from his fingers, his body hair stood on end, and his muscles bulged, making his school robe stretch tight, looking completely different from his usual skinny form.

His thoughts were shattered, his mind a blank slate, filled with nothing but rage at this moment. According to the common definition among wizards, the werewolf had lost control.

One step, two steps.

He panted heavily, growling threateningly as he dragged his heavy steps closer to the two vampires.

The girls around screamed and scattered, while the boys drew their Law books, silent and wary as they watched him. Now, the main conflict had shifted from Jiuyou and Alpha to the uncontrollable werewolf and school safety.

Student leaders from both academies began signaling each other, slowly approaching the nearly out-of-control half-blood werewolf, shuffling their feet while issuing warnings,

”Hey, repeater, don’t just transform in front of the girls so casually, show a bit of decency!”

”Remember who you are, you’re a student of Jiuyou Academy. Don’t give those hypocrites an excuse in such a public setting. Can you bear that responsibility?!”

”Who’s the bookworm insulting?”

”Yes, indeed, consider the bigger picture, mind the impact!”

Student leaders from Jiuyou Academy and Alpha Academy taunted each other while issuing increasingly stern warnings to Nicholas. Their Law books glowed with magic halos of control and tranquility, ready to strike.

Xin Fat Man and Xiao Xiao did not retreat with the others.

”Nicholas, calm down, just calm down. You’ve already faced several school disciplinary actions; do you want to be expelled? I remember you did well on your last final exam, you can surely level up this year!” Xin Fat Man stood a few steps away, lowering his voice as he earnestly tried to reason with the enraged half-blood werewolf, hoping to bring back his sanity. His feather pen and notebook were already tucked into his pockets, his plump face turned blue, and his expression was anxious with a layer of greasy sweat.

”Think about Fifi, how much pain this would cause her.” Xiao Xiao also chimed in, persuading while gesturing to the surrounding student leaders who were slowly gathering around, signaling them to wait a bit longer:

”He’s just a bit provoked, he can totally control himself... don’t act rashly!”

”Who’s responsible if something happens?” A Jiuyou Academy student leader did stop his steps and asked starkly.

”Everyone is responsible for their own actions, including me.” Xiao Xiao looked at him and emphasized, ”Moreover, Nicholas hasn’t completely lost his reason... I understand the characteristics and state of a werewolf losing control better than anyone here, including that Taylor family’s werewolf over there!”

Andrew Taylor, upon hearing this, just shrugged his shoulders, showing an honest smile, not denying Xiao Xiao’s words.

The advancing steps around them stopped. As someone who entered Small Arcana and became a Wand Sequence Seven within half a year of joining, Doctor Xiao had some reputation in Huayu Academy. More famously known as ’Doctor’, in his more than half a year at the school, no one doubted that he had memorized the ”Wizard World Encyclopedia,” with people more interested in just how many similar specialized books he had committed to memory.

Besides, that chubby guy next to Xiao Xiao was also recognized as a Campus Newspaper’s journalist—with the student leaders from Jiuyou Academy present not wanting to see an article published the next day saying they had colluded with Alpha’s student leaders to suppress a Jiuyou Academy student. That would be a public relations disaster.

It was common knowledge that journalists loved writing from such perspectives.

The student union officers of Jiuyou Academy stared deeply at the two young wizards standing in front of the werewolf before finally raising a hand, signaling their companions to pause, ”... I hope you’re right.”

The students of Jiuyou Academy stopped and, naturally, the people from Alpha Academy didn’t make any moves either, stopping as well. However, they didn’t put away their law books; instead, the magic fluctuation around the law books grew stronger, seemingly provoking the werewolf in the center of the arena, as if expecting it to do something.

”Where is Fifi?” Xiao Xiao asked in a low voice, his speech rapid as he scanned the crowd, hoping to spot the pretty witch.

From the current situation, Liu Fei Fei was the most likely candidate to completely calm Nicholas down.

”She went to Starry Sky Academy.” The desperation in Xin Fat Man’s voice became more pronounced, a blue hue covering his face, ”She’s the top freshman of Jiuyou Academy, and the student unions from Starry Sky Academy and Atlas Academy invited her as a student representative at the opening ceremony of today’s Hunting Competition!”

This was yet another piece of extremely bad news.

However, the repeated utterances of ’Fifi’, were not completely ineffective; the half-transformed werewolf seemed to gradually subdue its savage aura, the blood in its eyes fading significantly, leaving only a hint of indifferent black.

Like a volcano after an eruption, thick volcanic ash slowly settled, Nicholas’s thoughts began to consolidate, slowly bringing back his rationality.

But this could not stop his anger.

Nor could it stop him from recalling the words those student union officers had spoken a moment ago when he had lost his reason.

His throat rolled, and suddenly, a strong sense of sorrow surged up from the depths of his heart.

These are not my classmates.

This is also not the school I wanted.

Nicholas’s sight darkened before he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, his mind cluttered with all sorts of chaotic thoughts, completely disorganized.

When he opened his eyes again, the familiar classmates were still on both sides, surrounded by those wary looks.

But behind the crowd, behind those in white robes, he vaguely saw a creature with many legs and many tentacles slowly crawling out of Lin Zhong Lake, crawling towards him.

The creature moved slowly through the alert and frenzied crowd, leaving behind a trail that was wet and green.

Many twisted mouths covered its body, opening and closing together, noisily shouting words he couldn’t understand. The only word Nicholas could make out from those ’mouths’ was the sound of ’Nicholas’.

The crowd was shoulder to shoulder, yet there was no contact with the creature, as if they existed in different dimensions.

Even Nicholas, who had just regained control and was filled with anger, lost his composure in the face of this bizarre and inexplicable situation.
