High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1215: Chapter 277 Blood Removal

In the moment Nicholas was lost in thought, the creature that resembled Tree Yao powerfully thrust its crossed legs beneath it and surged upward, hurtling directly towards the repeater student in the center of the crowd.

Nicholas instinctively stepped back and closed his eyes.

He only felt an overwhelming cold breath hitting him face-on, nearly freezing his soul. All sounds from the real world disappeared from his ears, all light vanished from his sight, and he couldn’t even sense any presence around him.

”Obey me, follow me, worship me...”

Mad voices emanated from the cold breath, as if hundreds of people were yelling deep within his soul, ”Abandon this worn-out skin, discard that ridiculous bottom line, give up everything to gain everything...”

”Give up...”

”Give up! Give up! Give up!!”

Instinct in Nicholas’s heart frantically warned him, telling him to dodge, to stay far away from this cold breath.

But his body, as if frozen like his soul, became stiff and uncontrollable, unable to move even a step. From body to soul, he plunged into boundless darkness in that instance.

Just then, a sharp cat’s meow mixed with a goat-like bleating abruptly sounded; even through closed eyelids, Nicholas could feel a colossal fireball like the sun shattering the boundless darkness, dispersing the chills, bringing warmth to the warlock’s body.

He forced open his eyes.

From the corners of his eyes, he vaguely saw a yellow figure entangled with the Tree Yao, tumbling together before finally disappearing behind the White Tower on the small island at the center of the lake. The noisy and chaotic crowd around, oblivious to the astonishing scene, still relentlessly attacked Nicholas’s recently uncontrollable behavior.

The warlock closed his eyes, shook his head forcefully, and his hearing, touch, and other senses lost a few seconds ago came back, along with muffled curses that returned vaguely:

”That’s what I said, a dog is just a dog; the moment its master pulls the leash, it tucks its tail.”

”No, you’re wronging the dog... besides, he doesn’t even have a tail.”

”Oh, my mistake, my mistake... The bastard doesn’t even have a tail after transforming; almost forgot about that.”

Nicholas’s nostrils fluttered slightly, as if he could still smell the foul blood scent lingering deep within his soul.

It was foul, and it was bloody.

In his mind, the mad shouts of hundreds of people had faded, but their residual sounds still echoed, chanting in unison:

”Give up, give up, give up...”

A sudden insight flooded Nicholas’s mind: Oh, that’s the taste of being eaten and eating others, that’s the last cry of the eaters in this world, it is the fate after desperate struggles without hope.

— It was the peace he had long awaited.

He could choose such a fate too.

He still had the right to give up.

Nicholas’s aura completely calmed down, and a look of ashen desperation filled his eyes. The onlookers thought he had completely gotten rid of the risk of losing control, they all breathed a sigh of relief, even as they saw the warlock continue dragging his heavy steps towards the two Alpha students without becoming overly alert.

In Nicholas’s dark pupils, two faces full of malice were reflected.

”Hey, does this fellow student have any comments?” one tall student said with a mocking smile.

”Not even able to fully transform, that’s truly sad.” another shorter student scoffed.

It seemed the inquiring and cautious gazes of the students around filled them with courage and motivation.

”Huff... huff...”

Nicholas breathed calmly, but his right hand suddenly underwent a ferocious transformation, sharp nails, black wolf hair piercing the skin, and throbbing large veins appeared.

Only a frenzied werewolf could possess such claws.

In Nicholas’s eyes, the faces of the students gradually distorted and deformed. His heart raced madly, but his eyes grew calmer.

Panic erupted among the students around.

The werewolf’s claw tips trembled slightly, emitting bursts of sparking electricity.

Nicholas’s calm voice resonated across the entire Lakeside of Bell Lake, echoing in every student’s heart:

”I breathe the same air as other wizards, eat the same food, stay under the same sky.”

”But I never received the same respect.”

Nicholas bowed his head, his voice hollow:

”I am not of pure blood, so you consider me a disgrace.”

”I am foolish. Hence, my efforts are scorned by you.”

”My patience is seen by you as weakness!”

”I care not about these!”

A hint of bloodlust reemerged in the depths of Nicholas’s dark eyes:

”But you should not insult my mother!”

”Over and over again.”

”Where there should be justice, there is none.”

”In this supposed land of freedom, I find no freedom.”

”I retained but a shred of dignity.”

”Yet reality has cruelly answered me time and time again.”

”The bloodline my father passed onto me.”

”Has caused me nothing but humiliation!”

”Heaven bestowed upon me sharp fangs and claws.”

”Yet I am not allowed to use them to claim justice!”

”If so, why should I keep these things!”

He roared in agony, swung his claws backward, and plunged them deep into his own chest, then viciously pulled them out, pointing obliquely into the sky.

Bright red blood spurted out, striking the faces of two vampires in front of him. A lightning bolt flashed, making their already pale faces even more ghastly pale.

The air at the lakeside seemed to freeze; everyone was shocked by the scene, rendering the area deadly silent.

The clouds in the sky darkened, and a cold wind swept across the square. The rolling thunder, following the lightning, shattered the silence, shaking everyone’s hearts to their core.

The crimson blood slowly dripped down the tips of his claws, but Nicholas’s arms, bulging with veins, were as steady as a rock.

His low growl was as solid as rock, and as piercing as the cold wind:

”Min Tianjiwei, be applied to the earth below.”

”I have bloodline, sharp fangs, and claws!”

”The grave of the sacrificed sheep, Three stars in Lu!”

”Holding my Luan Knife, I claim my Blood Liao!”

His miserably fierce voice roared with the thunder, cursing. A deep red blood continued to spray from his chest with his spell.

Nicholas’s complexion rapidly turned ashen, but a splendid luster gradually emerged in his eyes:

”Heaven holds the moon, its guardianship also beams, my prayer I make, none can reach, none can end!”

”With this blood, I dedicate this spell!”

Even though it was daylight, the sun quietly receded. The sky twinkled with stars, a dazzling starlight enveloping downwards. The pool of blood in front of Nicholas erupted, writhing and churning, forming two complex spells that heavily branded the foreheads of the two vampires.

As the starlight faded, Nicholas’s body weakened, and he was about to fall to the ground.

Four or five tall figures suddenly appeared around him.

”Granted fortune by Heaven, I preserve the principle of life!” Professor Yao’s face stern, placed the Law Book above Nicholas’s head. A white halo enveloped Nicholas from head to toe, rapidly improving his condition.

”May Brightness prevail.”

”May Blessings abound.” The other black-robed wizards also cast supporting spells, everyone looking grim.

By the sides of the two terrified vampires, several wizards dressed in crimson appeared.

These were the enforcers from the school’s disciplinary department, who usually appeared only before the professors.
