Chapter 1221: Chapter 283 The Land of Void

”Concentrate your spirit...”

”Mind and spirit... unite...”

The voice of the Yellow Flowered Cat seemed as if it came from a far away place, and Zheng Qing was struggling to hear it clearly. He didn’t really want to hear it clearly. Right now, he had a bit of a headache, as if a bomb had been stuffed into his brain and then exploded. Even his thoughts were shattered to pieces.

He shook his head and slowly climbed to his feet.

His memories were fragmented. He vaguely remembered the arrival of an Outer God named Satoguya to a small world, and the battle that took place between them. As for why the Outer God had descended, it was because Sister Korma wanted to use a magic ritual to forge a path for tricksters into the wizard’s way.

I should really persuade Sister Korma to give up that delusion sooner, the warlock rubbed his temples, trying to ease the waves of pain in his forehead while complaining in his heart, and there’s Elena, usually so clever, how could she foolishly join in with Korma’s nonsense...

When he thought of Elena, the hand pinching his temples suddenly froze.

Because an alarming image emerged in his mind—Korma’s form was becoming translucent, being pulled into the abyss by the forces of the void; the Gypsy witches had transformed into a small tree, from top to bottom, only a head remained, and her features were still discernible.

The young man scrambled up in panic, looking around desperately.

Everything around him was blank. There was nothing.

No small tree with a beautiful serpent coiled around it, no Sister Korma about to fall into the abyss, no Outer God in the form of a giant toad, no silver-haired old lady, no Yellow Flowered Cat, and no sun or moon of the small world.

A complete void.

Then he raised his hands and his ten fingers seemed somewhat translucent in this white world.

It was only then that he realized he had unknowingly released the transformation spell and returned to his wizard identity.

”Where is this?!”

No sooner had this question risen in his mind than a loud and clear voice echoed across the Land of Void, ”Where is this?!”

”This is where matter and spirit intersect, where death lurks, the world where the soul takes a brief respite,” a familiar voice came from above Zheng Qing’s head, sounding rather pleased, ”Of course, I prefer to call it ’The Land of Void.’”

Zheng Qing jerked his head up so fast he almost broke his neck.

Just above his head, not too far away, Mr. Wu was sitting in a comfortable armchair, holding a hardcover book, seemingly engrossed in reading. Beside him was a small tea table, on which was placed a plate of dried fruit and a pot of hot tea.

Pearlescent mist gently wafted from the spout of the teapot, vanishing into the backdrop of this white world in an instant.

”Sir?” The word had just formed in Zheng Qing’s mind, and before he could speak out loud, that clear and loud voice began resonating again in the space of the Land of Void, ”Sir?”

”It’s me.” Mr. Wu took off his round black-framed glasses and waved genially at the warlock.

Then the armchair he was sitting on and the small tea table next to him slowly descended with his movements until they landed opposite the young wizard, sparing him the strain of craning his neck.

”Who is peering into my mind?” That clear and loud voice was accurately repeating the warlock’s internal question, which caught him off guard and prevented him from greeting Mr. Wu:

”There it is again!”

”Damn!”

”You say ’damn’ as well?” The young man wildly scanned all around him, while that clear and loud voice did not stop for even a second, echoing every single thought that flickered across his mind, ”Only a voice, no image? That’s good, that’s good. If any strange or bizarre thoughts pop up, at least I won’t embarrass myself in front of Sir...”

”F**k... Mr. Wu already knows!”

”MMP... I wanna kill someone... damn it...”

”Magic, I need a spell to protect my mind... Let me think, Gē Zhitianxi, no, that’s a Binding Spell... I Ma Huatui, no... Flowing Fire in July... Frost in September... Man’s nature at birth is inherently good... What the hell am I thinking about now... If only I had Xiao Xiao’s notebook... Focus, focus...”

”This place is perfect for Truth or Dare, no one would lie here... Focus, focus...”

”’Sleep Without Hearing’... no, that’s not right either, this is an advanced spell for unlocking Allah’s Door... Unshaken and unstirred... that’s right, I need to calm down first, I need to stay cool.”

”Unshaken and unstirred, undaunted and unwavering!”

”I beseech clarity!”

”I carry peace in my heart!”

”Neither submissive nor spitting back, not fearing strong foes, dignity is strength!”

After casting several defensive spells for his mind, the voice echoing above The Land of Void finally began to subside. This allowed the Warlock to breathe a sigh of relief at the bottom of his heart.

”Is this fun?”

From start to finish, Mr. Wu had not interrupted the Warlock’s mental activities but watched him with great interest as he frantically cast spells on himself.

Not until that clear and resonant voice had completely disappeared did Mr. Wu ask with a smile, ”How do you feel now?”

”Not bad...” The young man cautiously answered Mr. Wu’s question while he couldn’t help but ask, ”Where is this... I mean, why am I here? Is this some kind of recuperation area in the school infirmary? Was Satoguya driven away? Is everyone... is everyone okay?”

He dared not ask the heart-wrenching name.

”Being young is great, always so full of vitality.” Mr. Wu sighed with a hint of nostalgia, stretched out his hand to pick up a peanut from the plate on the small coffee table, and put it in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully, ”Take it slow, one question at a time, no rush.”

Zheng Qing’s mind was full of those questions to the point that for a moment he hadn’t noticed Mr. Wu eating.

”What on earth happened before?”

”What happened, I think you’re more qualified than I am to answer that question.” Mr. Wu raised his eyebrows and closed the hardcover book in his hands, ”You opened the Star Gate and allowed two Outer Gods to enter Buji Island. Then you fought desperately to stop them... From the perspective of a bystander, that’s the contradiction.”

”Is everyone... safe?” the young man asked softly.

”You’ll find out when you go outside.”

”Go outside? Oh, okay, I’ll go now...” Zheng Qing’s mind was a mess, his questions somewhat jumbled, ”How do I get out, can I go now? Why am I here? How did I get here?”

”Hmm, how you got here involves a very complicated process... To put it professionally, it’s because of a magic power rampage that caused severe dimensional disturbances, making the mind unable to control matter, which led to the release of a large amount of matter and energy in a very short time and extremely limited space, causing severe Magic Tides... In this process, since the mind collapsed before the matter, you would enter The Land of Void according to the general protective principles...”

Zheng Qing felt dizzy listening to this explanation, completely unable to grasp the key points.

He had to raise his hand to interrupt Mr. Wu’s stream of words and asked weakly, ”Can you... explain it a bit more simply?”

Mr. Wu lifted his eyelids and looked at him for a long time before finally answering:

”Simply put, you blew up.”
