Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1194 - 629: Petrified Creatures Attack!

The situation from Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy is finally about to arrive.

”So early?”

Xu Xin frowned.

It has just dawned, and they are here already?

At this moment, the sun had fully risen, and all the residents of the underground world squinted at the unprecedented sight of the rising sun.

”The stone creatures are attacking, so what about those who live outside now...”

Li Wenxi looked around worriedly.

Besides those people Wang Lei just brought out, there are still quite a few people living outside the World Tree and in the Crystal City.

Apart from the dozen survivors responsible for communication with the outside world, there are also some former underground world residents.

These people constitute nearly half of all the underground world inhabitants.

They live outside for various reasons.

Some have witnessed the brilliant galaxy and do not wish to enter the World Tree again.

Some are still attached to their underground world base and do not want to age faster than those underground.

Some just emerged from the underground and do not want to enter another small world again. They want to live under real sunlight.

In summary, the proportion of underground world residents who can accept living in the World Tree is much smaller than that of the survivors.

Understandably, they still have their social circle from the underground, and Xu Xin had promised to find a way to bring the underground people up, so relatively accelerated aging is more unacceptable for them.

Moreover, they have not experienced long survival crises like the survivors, making the security of the World Tree seem dispensable for them.

”Let’s bring them into the World Tree first. If those stone creatures are really here to besiege us, they’re in danger.”

Xu Xin and others immediately began to gather everyone and, after briefly explaining the situation, everyone started entering the World Tree in an orderly manner.

Although many were unwilling to live in the World Tree for a long time, no one would refuse to take refuge there during a crisis.

Moreover, before deciding to live outside, they had spent some time with the survivors and knew of the dangers outside the World Tree and the risks the survivors had endured.

Now that danger has struck, there’s naturally no reason for them to refuse shelter in the World Tree.

Of course, these people still whispered among themselves.

”What’s going on? Weren’t you out to watch the sunrise?”

”I’m not sure either, but entering the World Tree is wise; it’s very safe inside!”

”Haha, you folks outside have no idea, the inside world has completely renewed! The development speed is beyond your imagination!”

”Has it been a month inside already?”

”Yeah, it’s been a while since we last met!”

”Ah, this... it’s really miraculous! I clearly saw you last night!”

”Wow, you’ve started using the word ’night’ now!”

”Of course, I’m really trying hard to adapt to the surface world!”

”But... was living outside a mistake? It’s not very safe here, and in just one evening, a crisis has occurred...”

”Hey, why don’t you join us inside the World Tree? Life there is much more comfortable than outside!”

”I... I’ll think about it, but most of my friends are still in the underground world, I...”

Wang Lei led everyone into the World Tree.

Wen Guixin, having just received the notification, returned to the top level of her treehouse to observe the distant horizon.

She climbed down from her treehouse and addressed Xu Xin and the others still on site, ”Those petrified creatures are still far from us, at least forty to fifty kilometers away. There are plenty, at least several hundred stone statues.”

Wen Guixin’s expression was somewhat serious, holding a telescope in her hand.

The survivors outside the World Tree were equipped with telescopes, enabling them to observe distant locations. This technology was brought from the underground world.

The underground world, after a millennium of development, had made significant progress in these small items, allowing them to easily observe objects four or fifty kilometers away.

This is one reason Ji Chaoyang hoped someone would be stationed outside the World Tree.

While the World Tree allows observation of its surroundings, tools like telescopes to view distant areas cannot be used inside. However, outside the World Tree, they can be employed.

In situations like this, early observation by outsiders and notifying those inside the World Tree could save nearly an hour.

An hour inside the World Tree equates to four days!

They would gain four extra days for preparation!

”Let’s head back up.” Xu Xin addressed Wen Guixin, Li Wenxi, and others who hadn’t gone up yet.

”You all head up, I’ll continue observing outside.” Wen Guixin refused, ”Someone needs to stay on guard outside.”

Xu Xin nodded, ”Alright, then we...”

”I’m not heading back yet either.” Shi Wanyun suddenly said, ”I plan to return briefly to my treehouse and head to Zone 1, maybe I can find something.”

As she spoke, she began to draw the Teleportation Array Pattern on the ground.

”That’s fine, you can go back every day to ’report’ the situation here and gather intelligence there.”

”I could take you there myself... but never mind.” Xu Ying shook her head, ”You’re a ’spy,’ my presence would hinder your performance.”

”Then I’ll go too.” Lou Fei’Er approached Shi Wanyun, a slight curve forming at the corner of her mouth, ”I’m skilled at ’reporting’ situations. After resting for so long, it’s time to get active again.”
