Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1166 - 619: The Alien Invaders’ Weakness? (Part 3)

”Hmm... Judging from the state of those people we just encountered, it certainly seems that way. But why?” Xu Ying was utterly perplexed, ”Time is so abundant inside the World Tree right now, and it’s so safe and leisurely, why are they working so hard?”

”Maybe they had enough of idleness in those previous two weeks.” Qin Yunlong laughed, ”Once you gave us those blueprints, everyone went crazy, madly constructing the surroundings.”

”No kidding.” Li Wenxi complained, ”Every day for the past few days, people have been coming to block me, begging for more resources. Some even want to build tall towers and create metal statues—bored stiff, I directly refused. Even with plenty of resources, we can’t waste them like that!”

Wang Lei burst into laughter: ”Haha, have you ever played those... farm-building games? I bet they think they’ve turned this place into a real-life version of those games.

You think about it, we have blueprints, treehouses, just take house construction for example, walls, roofs, and such, it’s easy to make and combine, all we need is to design and assemble. Isn’t that just like in a game?”

”Oh, those guys have turned the construction area into entertainment? No wonder they’re so excited...” Wen Guixin shook her head, ”I don’t get it, what’s so fun about those games.”

After discussing a few matters, they each went their separate ways.

Ji Chaoyang approached Xu Xin alone: ”Xu Xin, I have new insights on my prophecy.”

”What do you mean?”

”Tomorrow morning, outside—tomorrow morning, those petrified creatures will all come over, but they... don’t seem to be here to attack us.”

Xu Xin was initially stunned, then a gleam flashed in her eyes: ”You mean, they’re coming to... join us?”

”I have that suspicion, but I’m not sure, so I wanted to discuss it with you.” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”Those petrified creatures show no intention of attacking, and I’ve tried to extend the prophecy as much as possible over the past few days, and then I saw a familiar face.”

Xu Xin squinted her eyes: ”Chang Yin?”

”That’s right. If that person is on our side, then... those petrified creatures are very likely allies.”

All those petrified creatures are Chang Yin’s handiwork, it’s normal for him to control them.

If it’s him... it might really be allegiance, they’re allies!

But...

”You’re right, but... we can’t rule out them using Xue Lan and Xiaohong to coerce Chang Yin into attacking us.” Xu Xin wasn’t so optimistic, ”You haven’t seen the other two, right?”

”Hmm, no, so I also considered this possibility. What do you think we should do?”

”... I’m heading to the underground world with Yingying right away to move the weapon production line above, we’ll manufacture weapons with full force, preparing for the worst possible outcome. Even though Yingying said the World Tree’s defensive and self-healing capabilities are strong, I’m not very reassured.” Xu Xin stood up.

”Hmm, that’s the most prudent approach.”

Ji Chaoyang nodded and then smiled, ”However, you don’t need to rush off; rest here for a day or two. Relax for a day, less than fifteen minutes have passed outside, no need to hurry, enjoy the results of our construction here.”

Xu Xin also smiled, ”I thought you’d say all that just to hurry me out.”

”Do I seem that tactless?”

Ji Chaoyang shook his head with a smile, ”Go spend some time with your Wenxi. You’ve been gone for half a month, and her mood hasn’t been great during this period. If her mood keeps being bad, that’ll be a problem; we’re relying on her for our resources.”

”Haha, sure.”
