Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1184 - 625: He Knows Nothing, Just Watch Me! (Part 2)

However... its size can’t really be called small.

”Yeah, it was so thrilling!” Li Wenxi recalled the previous events, patting her chest with lingering fear, ”It flew so high and threw me off! Luckily, Huihui caught me; otherwise, I would have fallen...”

”...Just hearing that sounds dangerous, you’re really daring.” Xu Xin gently flicked her forehead.

”Hehe...” Li Wenxi laughed sheepishly, ”I just wanted to try it, but it was so embarrassing at the time. I shouted so loudly that everyone was attracted over...”

Then, she gently hummed, ”It’s just because you’ve been gone for over a month, and without you to accompany me, I had to find some excitement during my breaks!”

”Alright, my fault. Don’t do that next time.”

”How could I dare? Now when I see Huihui, my legs tremble...”

”Hmm, I’ll try it next time.”

Xu Xin seemed very interested in riding a pterosaur to fly into the sky.

”Then you’d better be careful. Anyway, I’m not daring enough for now, even though Huihui has grown a bit bigger. Let’s not talk about this; let’s go find Yingying. We haven’t seen her in a long time.”

Li Wenxi looked toward the grove of treehouses.

”Alright.” Xu Xin nodded, and the two headed in that direction.

Li Yajun had vanished at some point, probably having left to give them space since they hadn’t seen each other in so long.

”By the way, a lot of people came this time. We brought over three hundred people up from the underground world.” Xu Xin said as he was being eagerly pulled along by Li Wenxi.

”Over three hundred people? That’s a lot!” Li Wenxi looked back at Xu Xin in surprise, ”Where are they? Coming to the surface for the first time, they must be shocked!”

Only less than a hundred were factory workers and technicians; the remaining two hundred or so were their family members.

Since the Wei Family’s weapons factory employees and their families had little contact with the outside world and were mostly influenced by the Wei Family’s longing for the surface, there was little resistance from them regarding personal emotions when bringing them up.

”Yeah, they’re still outside the World Tree right now. You know, they’ve never seen the sun or the sky. When they first reached the surface, they were all stunned, so Yingying and I left them outside for now, letting them first experience this vast world,” Xu Xin smiled.

Their reactions upon reaching the surface were entirely within his expectations.

When they arrived, it was close to dusk, and the sky was a stretch of red clouds.

For these people who had never seen the sky before, not only did they see the legendary infinitely high sky upon arrival, but they also saw the incredibly beautiful sunset, naturally becoming captivated and unable to extricate themselves.

Of course, what mainly overwhelmed them was still the infinitely high sky.

Although the sunset was very novel and beautiful to them, it wasn’t particularly shocking.

Some were even somewhat disappointed, feeling that the sun wasn’t as dazzling as they had imagined.

In their fantasies, the sun should be so bright that it can’t be looked at directly, perpetually emitting rays that could burn the skin, and staring at it would render one blind.

”It’s already evening now, and night is about to fall.”

After Xu Xin explained this to them, most of them had no concept of what evening or night was. Only a small number had read ancient books and knew of night.

And within the eyes of this small group, there was even a hint of fear.

Yes, fear of the legendary, unknown darkness and cold.

According to their ancient books, after the sun disappears and night falls, the world plunges into complete darkness, and without a source of heat and energy, the temperature drops significantly compared to daytime.

Most of what was said in their ancient books was essentially true, just slightly exaggerated.

People from the underground world have never experienced day-night temperature differences, nor have they seen the world plunged into darkness. Naturally, they would fear the unknown.

Xu Xin didn’t explain further but instead smiled mysteriously, telling them to experience it for themselves when night falls.

They would undoubtedly be awed by the cool nights in the forest and the vast starry sky.

”So such interesting things happened!” Li Wenxi was a bit envious, ”I want to see the sun too. I haven’t seen the sun for a month!”

”Uh... haven’t you gone outside during this time? Didn’t they say you all take turns overseeing the situation outside?”

”It’s not my turn. They can’t replace my tasks.” Li Wenxi pouted.

”You’ve been working all along, huh? Well, our resources should be abundant now.”

”Of course, but I don’t know how fast we consume resources when fully operational, so we can only stock up as much as possible for now.”

”Take a break occasionally. How about I take you to see those people?”

”Sure!” Li Wenxi got excited immediately, ”Hehe, I’m looking forward to their reactions when they see the starry sky! You and Yingying will bring them in, right? Take me along then. But...”

Li Wenxi looked up at the sky: ”Now, the brightness of the sky inside the World Tree is also decreasing, and the outside is about to enter the night, so here... is also soon to embrace the long, long night.”
