Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1186 - 626: Because I’m Not Your Sister

The equipment is already in place, and the technicians are all here, so weapon production can finally be put on the right track.

First, the people from the underground human base that Xu Xin and Xu Ying brought up have to pass on the methods of making and using these machines to all the survivors.

Next, the survivors will prioritize and throw themselves fully into weapon production, because with the productivity boosted by their abilities, they far surpass these ordinary people from the underground world.

Meanwhile, Ma Hongwei, Zeng Tao and the others will modify and develop all kinds of weapons, increasing their power.

Relying on the hundredfold time flow inside the World Tree, weapons will be continuously manufactured at extremely high efficiency, reaching an enormous scale in a very short time.

After a round of discussion, everyone settled on this plan and began to implement it.

Xu Ying first brought those humans from the underground base outside the tree house into the World Tree and told them what they needed to accomplish.

Then she called together all the survivors.

Seeing so many people from the underground world show up here, the survivors instantly boiled over.

They could hardly believe their eyes.

”Oh my god, th-this... they’re the humans from the underground world the big shots were talking about before?”

”You mean... the humans who’ve kept their lineage going from a thousand years ago till now?”

”It’s actually real!”

”Come on, when have the Explorer big shots ever lied to us?”

”Um...”

On the other side, though, things weren’t that hyped. After all, the survivors looked like ordinary humans, and these people living in the underground human base had seen plenty of humans in their lives.

They were simply extremely curious about where these people from the surface came from.

As the two groups gradually started talking, they both grew more and more shocked by each other.

”My god, you... you really lived underground for over a thousand years!”

”C-crossing a thousand years of time? You’ve all experienced time travel?!”

”Damn, I suddenly feel super curious about your human base...”

”Wait... so that means they’re actually... from the same era as our ancestors from a thousand years ago? Hiss—”

Both sides developed a strong interest in each other.

The members of the Explorers naturally weren’t going to make these two groups get down to business the moment they met; time inside the World Tree was more than abundant anyway.

So a grand welcome feast kicked off.

Outside the World Tree it was already evening, dusk falling; inside, it had grown much dimmer. Lights and firelight flared to life one after another, and the place was buzzing with excitement.

Xu Xin took a sip of the grain liquor some survivors had brewed recently, looked at the incredibly lively scene before him, and sighed. ”Who would’ve thought we’d be able to hold such a grand banquet in this world.”

Thinking back to their fight for survival not long ago, the scene in front of him felt almost like something out of a dream.

”Hehe, that’s because you’re always running around outside. You haven’t stayed in the World Tree for more than a few days.” Li Wenxi was sitting right beside him, her pretty face flushed red from the alcohol, leaning on his shoulder. ”We’ve been partying like this plenty of times this month...”

”Is that so...” Xu Xin smiled and gently patted Keke in his arms.

”Nngh... *hic*!” Keke was lying on her back in Xu Xin’s arms, her little belly bulging high, looking completely stuffed, even letting out a tiny burp.

Life inside the World Tree was truly comfortable for everyone.

He wondered if those dozen or so survivors currently living outside the World Tree would regret it if they knew life inside was this relaxed and carefree.

But counting from when the World Tree matured, only a single day had passed outside. Even if they regretted it out there, they could still come back in.

”Yeah, it really is comfy here... I was thinking, with this World Tree, do we even need to keep resisting?” Li Wenxi had drunk a bit too much and muttered out what she was thinking. ”Yingying said there’s... no danger inside the World Tree. As long as we keep living in here, nothing bad will happen to us, right... mm...”

As she spoke, her eyes were already almost completely closed.

”Your alcohol tolerance really is awful.” Xu Xin pinched her cheek.

”Mm... w-who... who says so! I had three whole cups, that’s a lot! Mmm...” Li Wenxi shouted once, then hugged Xu Xin’s arm and started humming softly again.

Xu Xin was speechless. This was just regular brewed liquor, not distilled spirits; the alcohol content was about the same as beer, five or six percent at best.

Three cups and she was like this—this girl’s tolerance was really unbelievably low.

Xu Xin took Li Wenxi back to her room. Looking at her rosy, sleeping face, he couldn’t resist giving it another pinch before walking out of the house.

This area really was... getting more and more full of the warmth of ordinary life.

From afar, he could still hear the laughter of countless people.

Xu Xin let out a sigh.

Just like Li Wenxi had said earlier: if they could keep living inside this World Tree, keep enjoying this kind of life, then...

Taking Earth back from the alien invaders was the sort of thing that somehow just couldn’t fire people up.

”You’re not thinking that just by living here, you can cut yourself off from the world and be carefree, are you?”

Xu Ying’s voice sounded from behind him.

He turned around to see Xu Ying standing there, looking straight at him.
