Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1163 - 618: Gifted a World Tree_3

Xu Ying and the others only brought around thirty thousand people, the rest of the several million survivors were brought by the other party.

Lou Fei’Er, Jin Yue, Shi Wanyun, these three women weren’t part of Xu Xin’s original team. If they’re not from other teams within the organization, then they’re likely brought to this future a thousand years later by the other party.

”Hmm, that’s right. Even survivors from a thousand years ago should have experienced time travel.”

Xu Ying nodded thoughtfully and continued to speculate: ”Also, the masked man, as the current head of multiple areas of survivors, is very likely the person who originally took these survivors across time.”

And the man still inside the treasure chest monster’s belly, although also a leader, is only the head of a single, isolated area, a subordinate of that masked man.

Moreover, he used disgraceful methods to secretly rise to power; that position was not originally his. So, it’s quite normal that he didn’t experience time travel and could have his mind read.

”Time travel...” Lou Fei’Er murmured to herself and asked Xu Xin: ”How’s the World Tree over there? Has the unstable time flow been fixed?”

Xu Xin briefly recounted the events that happened after Xu Ying arrived.

”Oh my god... We were away for less than half a day, and so much happened over there!”

”It’s been almost a month... a hundredfold time flow...” Lou Fei’Er thought about it and found it increasingly absurd, ”Time suddenly became so cheap...”

Jin Yue and Shi Wanyun exchanged a glance and saw the surprise in each other’s eyes.

They truly didn’t expect that in just half a day, things over there had changed so drastically.

”What should we do here, then?” Shi Wanyun asked, ”Is this World Tree useful?”

”Hmm... Let’s put this aside for now.” Xu Ying thought about it but couldn’t figure out any use for it here, ”It’s indeed too remote, on the sea; there’s no resource at all on this little island, surrounded by mutated sea beasts...”

”Yeah, let’s go back then, you guys go back first. I’ll take these two back to my treehouse, we better not go together.”

Her treehouse has been under observation by the self-proclaimed head of areas 1-5, probably watching closely for when she returns.

If Xu Ying brought them directly back, the other party would likely be suspicious.

”Alright, but...” Xu Ying said somewhat embarrassedly, ”I can’t get out on my own, give me some permissions...”

Originally, this was an ownerless World Tree, she could go out, but now that it has an owner, she’s stuck here.

Xu Xin’s mouth twitched: ”I mean, if that man himself becomes the owner of this World Tree, wouldn’t we be trapped here?”

”Then just capture the man directly!” Xu Ying blinked, ”Don’t mind these details; overall, the outcome is great—we didn’t even have to act, and the matter was resolved.”

”Alright then.”

Shi Wanyun went to the underground space of this World Tree and used the control panel to grant permissions to the two.

”We’re leaving then!” Xu Ying immediately took Xu Xin and left.

”...Ah!”

Lou Fei’Er suddenly covered her face and squatted on the ground.

”Oh no, Xu Xin heard what I said! I can’t live anymore!”

Then she glared at Shi Wanyun: ”You even undermined me!”

Shi Wanyun was already drawing the Teleportation Array Pattern and glanced at her: ”Are you leaving or not?”

”Leaving...”

...

Xu Xin and the other returned to the World Tree first.

”Oh...” Xu Xin looked around the World Tree, eyebrows raised slightly, ”Many treehouses have been incorporated.”

Outside the World Tree, there were originally more than a hundred treehouses, but now only ten or so remain.

”Ah, Brother Xin, you’re back!” From one treehouse, Zhao Xiaochuan poked his head out and waved at Xu Xin, ”Haha, our treehouse has become really strong now, you should check it out!”

The people staying outside the treehouse all greeted Xu Xin.

”Are you just out?” Xu Xin asked Zhao Xiaochuan.

”Just came out five minutes ago, replacing Sister Gui Xin. Brother Xin, come take a look; our results these past half months are just invincible!”

Has it been another half a month inside?

Indeed.

Considering the previous events near Shi Wanyun’s treehouse, the two had been away for a considerable time.

Fortunately, when they interrogated the man, they returned to the World Tree, saving some time. Otherwise, it might have been a month.

The two immediately entered the World Tree.

”It’s truly a drastic change...”

Looking at the thriving scene before them, Xu Xin sighed.

”Heh, don’t you know who taught them?” Xu Ying’s mouth curled upward.

At one glance, the green shrubs and lawns extended far into the distance, almost to the point of being endless.

The area they lived in no longer had that oasis-in-the-desert feel.

Moreover, with Li Wenxi there, the survivors inside the World Tree no longer needed to save desperately; they could freely use various metal materials.

Previously, during the half-hour Xu Xin took Li Wenxi outside to inject her with medication, nearly two days had passed inside; during that time, Xu Ying taught the explorers many skills they didn’t have before.

This included building blueprints for houses.

And now, at a glance, what Xu Xin saw were exquisite houses... or rather, villas, spread across vast fields and forests.

”They really know how to enjoy themselves.” Xu Xin remarked, ”Who’d have thought we’d live in villas in this world.”

If they were outside, such low buildings would be simply decorative but useless, easily broken through by mutated creatures, too dangerous to make even if feasible.

But here, it was of no concern.

There were no aggressive creatures whatsoever.

Because the offspring of mutated creatures do not inherit the mutation bloodline, the second generation of cattle and sheep, now domesticated, no longer are mutated creatures.

Clothing, food, shelter, and travel can all be adequately satisfied.

If there’s an internet, even on Earth a thousand years ago, it would be a paradise.

”...Hmm? What’s that...”

Suddenly, Xu Xin noticed a gray-white shadow leaping from the distant orchard, into the air, tracing a crescent shape, flying rapidly toward Xu Xin and Xu Ying!

The speed was extremely fast; before the two could react, that grey-white shadow flapped its wings twice and landed in front of Xu Xin.

”Is this... a pterosaur?” Xu Ying widened her eyes, ”Did you guys raise pterosaurs?”

Xu Xin was equally shocked, his mouth agape.

When did they ever raise pterosaurs?

This pterosaur’s overall height reached only Xu Xin’s chest; it was clearly still a young creature.

At this moment, it raised its large head, its forelimbs on the wings rested on the ground, its bright eyes looking at Xu Xin.

”Could this be...”

Xu Xin reached out and petted the little pterosaur’s head, and it squinted its eyes with a very comfortable expression.

”Are you... that egg?”
